Kang Dynasty is too far out to predict and several other MCU movies that haven't been announced yet come out before it so we don't know where the MCU's momentum is at by the time it releases
Secret Wars At minimum 5 years out
Deadpool 3 will easily do that. The first 2 Deadpool’s both made almost $800M worldwide and this one will have the added Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (and other returning Fox Marvel characters if reports are to be believed) factor as well

i think the most likely next billion is Joker 2. Maybe Deadpool 3 but i have doubts
i'm not convinced deadpool 3 makes a billion, the first two did well but they did not get to a billion, they were over 200 million short and the 2nd only did slightly better than the first, not to mention it's been quite some time since the 2nd one, I see no reason why there'd be a such a massive jump for the 3rd one when the 2nd only only had a minor bump.

We forgot about Beyond the Spider-Verse (even though as of commenting this there's no release date)! It has a chance but I don't think it will.
Spider-Verse movies seem like they are on an upward trajectory for sure. The third one will come out swinging.

I totally agree with avengers not making a billion dollars. Honestly, I couldn't even tell you who makes up the avengers roster right now. It's all over the place and this multi-verse saga was a misstep in my opinion. I've been collecting and reading marvel comics for the last 30 plus years and even I find myself confused by the story. I can only imagine what the casual movie goer is experiencing
Ik chadwick is gone but I have a strong feeling he would’ve been the leader of the new avengers had he been alive. They built it up like that with the short time he was here. Now marvel is scrambling to try to find the next leader 🤷🏾♂️

I don't know if a film like that will come out anytime soon. I mean, the Barbie movie franchise has messed that up for everyone in the movie industry. So, someone really has to think outside the box for real.

I'm surprised that John left out *_Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse_* of his billion dollar predictions. Considering that *_Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse_* made $384 million and it's sequel *_Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse_* made $300 million more than the first one (S689 million) I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility for the 3rd film to make over a billion, especially since it's the conclusion to the trilogy.
I know the Spider-Verse movies are beloved online and to be fair the general audience enjoys them too but at the same time I don’t think the general audience is as deeply in love with these movies as the online community is

Deadpool 3 has a chance of joining the billion dollar club because of the long awaited team up of hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds and the rumoured multiverse sadly aquaman 2 will bomb for dc as james Gunn is in full on building the dceu and with what's happened with shazam the flash and bluebeatle I see aquaman doing far worse far as the other mcu films it will be a mixed bag of results because fans are burnt out from comic book films

Madame Web may have an intriguing premise and appealing cast, but it's going to come down to the execution of the story and characters. And I don't have high hopes for those elements with the script coming from the writers of not just Morbius, but also Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, and Gods of Egypt. Regardless, I agree that it's the least likely to hit 1 billion and Deadpool 3 is the most likely.
Making a good profit on any production is always positive and healthy. But movies making SOOO much money now, it only means that studios cash in on the hype and follow up with 1000x diluted sequels and series that just kill the heart and soul of what was good in the first place. I hope good productions make enough money for everyone involved to get paid properly... but I couldn't give a flying fuck if they make a billion dollars or not, lol.

Deadpool 3, the batman 2, spider verse 3, avengers 4&5 all have a shot of $1 billion
Non of those films are gonna hit a billion. I think the chances are higher that all 4 lose money than 1 hit a billion

I've never seen a batman movie, spiderman movie, hulk, catwoman, joker, daredevil where the next version tries to somehow embody the previous version, always trying to find a NEW angle for a NEW VERSION. But with superman they always want to comeback to Christopher's superman. I know it was iconic at the time but maybe that's the problem, it was too iconic for its own good. That was one the coolest things about MOS and Henry's version... IT DIDN'T NEED TO BE LIKE CHRISTOPHER TO BE GREAT

Comic book movies had a nice run but there time is over. I don’t think any will reach the mark again.
It’s gonna be a while. It has to go at least 5 years before with no comic book movie
I wouldn’t say it’s fully over but I don’t think where at a point where anything comic book or marvel can automatically be a success anymore I do think both properties have a lot more flops than successes in the near future but however I do think there will be big hits like no way home like the Batman and spider verse here and there so it’s not completely dead
The next one that has the best chance is Deadpool 3. Avengers will probably get it, but other than that, I can't really see anything definitive.
It's gonna be a minute before any superhero movie makes over a billion again because covid really slowed the genre's momentum down, especially for the MCU.

Tbh I don't think joker 2 makes a billion because of the direction they decided to go with the film. Deadpool is 50/50 because it could either be really great or just another multiverse cameo fest. Imo I think The Batman Part 2 makes a billion first because the first one was very loved and well received and made a substantial amount of money. Also, movies that had a very well received first movie tend to perform even better box office wise, whether it be across the spiderverse, spiderman 2, tdk, winter soldier, etc.

Madame Web is a potential method of setting up for the Inheritors story arc and creating serious conflict for a live action Spiderverse across multiple realities, with a way to tie it into Secret Wars with cooperation from Marvel Studios, but I do not have much faith in the writers of Morbius to have the competency for adapting such a high stakes storyline without screwing it up.

The Marvels definitely could have easily broken a billion if they had Rachel Zegler and Amber Heard in the cast, with the project helmed by Kathleen Kennedy as an executive producer. It just needed a tiny bit more of that mystical female empowerment ingredient

Spider vsea 3
I think the only one that’s gonna make a billion is Deadpool 3, because it’s still riding the momentum of its previous 2 installments which were both beloved, thus far it’s hasn’t had a slip up and so there’s no reason to believe that it won’t make a billion, crazy as it is I don’t think either Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars are gonna make a billion, because the MCU still has yet to build up continual momentum with the audience and at this point I feel like they’re too close to Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars to be able to get to those numbers, in fact I’m gonna say that I don’t think the MCU is gonna start building that continual momentum until *after* Secret Wars, that’s not me saying that I don’t think the MCU is gonna have another *good movie* until after Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, I do think they will, but I kinda doubt that we’ll see a point in time where they’re pumping out hit after hit like they were during the Infinity Saga until we get beyond Secret Wars, because I think that’ll officially be the point where it’ll feel like we have more of a clean slate and we can slowly build things up again phase 1 style, and so as of right now I would say the only one I think is gonna do it is Deadpool 3
