Spawn #306 is the best example of why you should never pay big money for moderns. This can happen to ANY book. Especially direct market copies. Someone could find a full case of ASM #300 next week and flood the market with high grade 9.6+ slabs.

Then during a publisher warehouse clean-up EIGHT full distributor cases were found. I bought one of them, it's sitting in my basement, and I know a major comic retailer who bought two, and ever since then they've slowly been released over time.
Y'all forgot to mention one of the pros of X Factor 1 is Walter Simonson's art and Louise Simonson's writing. That was news back in the day. Great book 2 buy and add to your collection.
Even with that book, I struggle to make the case for slabbing at a 3.0 grade. Even a 9.0 feels detrimental when it's a modern comic book. I don't see how a 3.0 can be more aspirational than a shabby raw.

It was definitely original which is something that is a rarity in today's homage overdone repetitive covers so I embraced it as original and a breath of fresh air. I too thought you would be referring to the Frank Miller cover that has shocked many fans both positively and negatively.

Ah, yes. Indeed. This one was aghast at the 'Warlock As A Tween' take of Guardians 3; the incipient deconstruction of the Lee/Starlin Marvel cosmology by Hickman would be a good explanation. The elimination of the hoped for Warlock/Thanos/Magus storyline is pretty much assured with that maddening, anti-canon portrayal of Marvel's second greatest (hello, Norrin Radd) cosmic hero. Wither Pip & Starfox (Eros)?
AMS 121 is the only book presented here that I would even look at. I have no idea what all those other books are. If someone was selling them to me I would offer one dollar for the lot. So buy good books or buy junk and it will always be junk
In my humble opinion, the only time we’re scarcity is a good thing is with something like a golden age book. With modern variance you never know what the real print run is. With a golden age book there’s a good chance that there aren’t too many more copies floating around anywhere.
Love you guys and your knowledge and the show but have to say that comic book spec based upon film and tv is done. So many of the new shows and or movies are complete trash, it almost seems as if the creators are brain dead. Name more than 3 stellar shows from the last year?! I’m waiting….? Not just “ok” I mean great. There are none. And there was only the Sony Spider-Man movie that was any good recently. All faith in Disney Marvel is gone, and DC is just bad. Everything needs a complete reboot. Yes even James Gunn hasn’t done anything yet, and maybe has even hurt DC so far with his various comments about how great the recent films were and about how bad some classics were…. Prove me wrong people. Super hero fatigue is real and only exacerbated by the low quality stuff coming from the studios! Very strong feeling that Disney Star Wars is going to ruin the Ezra character. He will be bad. Not evil just a bad, dumb character. I bet he will get impaled by a lightsaber and will patch it up with a band aid and be back in the fight two hours to destroy space fighters with said light saber. Totally believable. Sure Disney keep it up you’re doing great!!!

X Factor #1 is a book you 'may as well' pick up. I bought mine for $5 . Pick up a NM Newsstand if possible. It will never ɓe worth more than $200 .
