Great list and great picks. Two books from my list that didn't make yours: Skin Police from Oni and Plastic Man No More from DC. Other honorable mentions for best of the year from me: Animal Pound, Grommets, and Hello Darkness. Bottom line - it was a great year to be a reader, but not a great year to be my wallet.
Dude, ain't that the truth. I'm loving both Skin Police and Plastic Man No More too, amongst a slew of others. Distilling this list down to what I considered the best of the best was no easy task when we had so much excellent stuff to pick from. And a lot came from newer creators which just gives me so much to look forward to next year. Thanks for the view and kind words, man!
Heard of most of it, read none of it. Conan The Barbarian, Red Coat, Rook and Ultimate Spider-Man are in my pull box, but I’m waiting for 10-12 issues before I binge.
If that's the case, consider me jealous! You have the opportunity to experience all this great stuff for the first time. If you read some of it, lemme know your thoughts!
Silver lining though, the ones that don't hit for you can make those great ones look that much better. Redcoat was definitely a standout for me, along with the rest of Ghost Machine's books last year.
