Absolutely nothing makes me happier than him displaying his kids' artwork alongside accepted masterpieces. It tells you everything you need to know about David as a person.
He seems like an awesome guy. Loved him in late night with the devil. His comic collection is impressive. His admiration for his child's art is so sweet.

I had NO idea David was this huge of a comic geek/fan! I don't follow David's works per se but I ALWAYS enjoy watching anything he's a part in and now, I will most definitely be following his career! Can't wish nothing but the best because he just seems like such a genuine soul.
Everyone should do themselves a favor and read Dastmalchian's “Count Crowley” comic. Most comics written (and “written”) by actors are undisguised movie pitches with the main character clearly played by the actor and they are always terrible. Not so with “Count Crowley.” It is superbly written and there aren’t any main characters that Dastmalchian could play. It’s the real deal, and so is he.
@@graydenday3760 that’s a great story. Really glad you’ve found inspiration and I hope this is something you and your son have a great time doing together
I was a big fan before. But now he shared his comics I’m sold! Take my money please! He’s already a huge star in my opinion. But I see him being bigger. My love for comics came from me being sent into foster care at 10. And these stories got me through a lot prior to Forster care. Monster and fangoria magazine and my local movie theater! For 5 bucks i could go to see ghostbusters or Friday the 13th by myself my mom was a bartender for a mobster. The movies was literally across the street. But when i see things like this video it reminds me of my fantasy of escaping into my imagination. Thank you for sharing!
David is the man of both worlds (DC and Marvel) living his nerdvana and it's an honor to have the chance to see his vast collection and how careful he is with his treasures. Plus, I've always wanted to see that wall of horror albums!!! 🖤🖤🖤 David, you're the best!!!!
Mr. Dastmalchian's performance in _Prisoners_ still haunts me. Just a consummate actor. And generally cool guy - was in a panel he spoke at. So chill :-)
Count Crowley is so good! It captures such a unique and complex tone. There's an innocent enthusiasm for old horror movies, a bit of the grimy sordid feel of Creepy and Eerie magazines, some very real stuff about trauma and addiction, and a fast moving secret conspiracy. Love it!
Crazy to think The Dark Knight was his first movie roll. He barely made a noise but his character was so memorable. Glad he’s having a great career. Really wish Polka-dot Man didn’t die is SS.
Insanely talented actor, family, man and a huge collector just like many of us? I was already a massive fan of his and after watching this, I became an even bigger fan. Fantastic episode.
Been a fan of this man for a while, a truly understated talent. He’s been on an upward trajectory and I see that continuing. Very intriguing guy and great performer.
As someone who's become passionate about a nostalgia hobby later in life (I'm 44, and it isn't comics, but I digress), I have nothing but admiration and envy for people like David who found something they loved early, poured themselves into it, didn't let life divert them, and now are reaping the benefits. Rock on, David. 🤘
"One of the ship, one of the crew..." David face's been with me since I first saw him in The Dark Knight. I really liked him in The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Keep it coming, man!!!! Much success for you and your family!
God I love it when people can actually hold on to the things they loved as kids! I also admire when actors play in movies and TV shows and portray characters they actually know and love
David is fantastic! As a serious comic collector and pop culture fan myself, I recognize all his passions and concerns - I’d love to meet him one day. Great video thank you.
Bro I'm sure this isn't new, but I know for a fact this isn't easily common knowledge. This should be way more known! I love this actor even more now,he's one of us! He needs to advertise this more, not just words(cause every famous person swears they love comics), but really letting ppl know. Im so happy!
This was such a great interview, glad he was able to speak without any interruptions. David definitely knows his stuff and I loved hearing him talk about his passions. I'm definitely not afraid to embrace my inner kid either! Keeps us from aging too fast 😅 Thanks CBR!
There are few things more awesome than a comic book fan and collector who becomes a successful actor appearing in multiple movies and TV shows featuring the very characters he grew up reading about
This was such a dream come true to watch!! I think everyone’s been curious about David’s collection of all sorts of horror and nerdy stuff. And the random trivia he offered kinda blew my mind too. I didn’t know anything about Jayne Mansfield until now 😂
As a kid, I collected superhero comics. I had so so many plastic boxes on a lot of shelves filled with these comics. When I became a teen, I started to feel insecure about having a room filled with comics. Like it wasn’t cool and I had to grow up, so I sold them all. Now as an adult, it still is one of my biggest regrets. Now, I fully embrace my inner and now outer nerd 🖤😊😊
He was absolutely outstanding in Late Night with The Devil. Perhaps not the conventional leading man by traditional standards but he’s someone that has great range and I hope to see him in more
So happy he pointed out his Remco monsters at the end of the segment, I had my eye on them over his shoulder the whole video! I have that collection, too. He needs the mini Monsterizer! I also have the genuine soil from Dracula’s castle, haha.
everytime a see something of david i love him more. Holy shit, never forget when i was a youngling, watching TDK, his character got stuck with me, his expressions, his acting, holy shit. Seeing him at the top today makes me so glad
Being a comic nerd & growing up & getting to act in comic book movies has to be an incredible feeling. David is so cool. My favorite role of his was as the escaped Arkham patient in Dark Knight.
9:17 ..I HAD THAT RECORD ! LOL Lord knows what happened to it. I also had ALL The Tomb of Dracula comics from 1970s. When times were tough i had to sell my ToD comics for dog food. Miss those comics but I miss my dog more :/ ... great video thanks for sharing.
This was awesome and he was such a great first guest! Joe Manganiello would be another good guest id like to see. Seems like a cool personality and he was great on Method Man's Marvel podcast i remember!
Talented actor. Good to see he's been able to work with some of the stuff he loved as a kid. Re. horror, been reading a bit of old Creepy magazine myself.
