Mario ,guardians and fast x have the best chance and I think dune 2 it's the new Godzilla king of the monsters where people are overating how well that movie it's going to do I think general audiences hated that movie
I seriously think Mario actually has a small chance at being the first animated movie to make 2 billion. I certainly don’t think it will, but if any animated movie could potentially do it, it’s this one.
It’s hard enough for *any* animated film to reach $2bil, let alone one based on a video game. Not only do VG adaptations have a spotty track record, but their appeal is more siloed to specific generations. It appeals to boys like me who grew up playing Mario games, but there’s nothing about it that interests my parents. It doesn’t help that the pandemic started conditioning parents to just wait until animated family movies hit the streaming services. Their box office performance on average has plummeted dramatically.
Like with Aquaman, Little Mermaid will probably treat underwater like most movies do where the actors are on wires and can magically move through it almost as easily as air, so I doubt there will be much comparison. It doesn't really matter that much anyway. Whether it's urban, desert, forest, or water, they're all just biomes to tell a potential story in.
How many more films can join the Billion Dollar Club before it's not a thing anymore? Fifty? A hundred? I'm so old I can still remember when $100 million was unheard of. Now $100 million is almost considered failure
Little Mermaid won't flop but it sure will not get a billion. This is the movie who earn the most dislike for any Hollywood film (2.84 million dislike). To put it in perspective, the previous movie that has the most dislike in RUclips is Cuties (2.4 million dislike) & 2016 Ghostbusters trailer (1.6 million dislikes). Little mermaid dislike surpassed those movie dislike.
@@terryshrk Yes, but the trailer is supposed introduce the film to the viewer. The like and dislike ratio show a percentage on how much viewer think of the show. Cuties & Ghostbuster 2016 got that dislike before people watch it [just trailer] and people still hate the movie once they watch it.

Top Gun did not earn over ONE BILLION just based on nostalgia. I AM SHOCKED HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THE SUPER MARIO BROTHERS MOVIE!!! I am not a Mario game fan at all!! I suck at Mari games…minus Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Mario Party, Smash Bros.
But wow am I soooo beyond excited to see this animated movie. Which I have not been excited about an animated movie since hmmm maybe Finding Dory? Or Toy Story 3?
You’re going to love…LOVE Mario Kart ride at USH I went a couple weeks ago (wife works there) and its short but amazing
The flash is already getting excellent reviews by critics, so I am guessing that can go up on one of the list as making almost billion dollar movie especially since we would see Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.
Might do similar numbers like multiverse of madness that had 8 week’s worth of reshoots which might have effected the quality of the film.
The DCEU’s reception might be a bump in the road.
To be honest, if Super Mario is actually really good (like Lego Movie level or higher) I think it has the biggest chance of joining the club.
Super Mario Bros will be massive
One of the most well known characters and franchises on a global scale, a bright & colorful family film.
Didn't the last minions film make bank? Yeah this thing will be huge
@@madnessarcade7447 Detective Pikachu was a weird one.
It wasn't an exclusive Pokemon film and the way it was marketed prob confused people and yes the timing didn't help
Year 2023 is definitely fantastic for all movie lovers i really wish flash atleast earn 800m $ . And Shazam 400+ and Aquaman 850+ bb 350
I cant wait for Dune 2
Diddo!
Sleeping on the Flash. That’s going to make a billion
I'll honestly be surprised if it doesn't
Please don’t wish on it. It’s only gonna make the Ezra controversy even worse. It’s already bad enough that WBD stupidly wants to keep a criminal on the run.
@@luisquintero7359 relax if u knew half of what these other actors do behind the scenes lol we don't care about ur personal life just make good movies
Billion Dollar Movies: (In order of release date)
Super Mario Brothers: That thing has a lot of momentum right now.
Guardians Vol. 3: Chris Pratt had one of the three Billion movies last year, might get two this year.
Fast X: Great track record and making over 700 Million during the pandemic will help it get pushed over the edge this time around.
Little Mermaid: Bit skeptical, but the other three major "Renaissance Remakes" have made over a Billion, so it's hard not to include it.
Indiana Jones: Gut feeling it will be this year's Top Gun. Heavy nostalgia factor here. Could be even bigger if it gets great reviews.
Mission Impossible: Don't bet against Tom Cruise. These movies have gotten better with each installment, though Fallout will be very tough to beat. Best movie I saw in a theater in 2018 by far.
Some of these will be very dependent on whether they can secure a release in China. Aquaman 1 made it to $1 billion largely thanks to China.
The epic plot twist..Shazam 2 hits a billion 😂
Fast X joins billion dollar club
Indiana Jones 5
Dune part II
Aquaman & the lost kingdom
I think you guys are sleeping on The Flash. Maybe not 1 billion, but it’ll be huge
@@EmperorDxD Keaton returning as Batman alone gives it that potential. The movie would still have to be good though.
@@mightheal it doesn’t have that same hype effect that No Way Home had and probably Keaton’s return might be years too late. Plus, it’s going up against Indiana Jones 5 and Across the Spider-Verse.
@@luisquintero7359 Really that only affects the rewatch numbers not the first time viewing numbers.
These are ones that I think will make over a billion
Super Mario Bros.
GOTG Vol. 3
M:I - Dead Reckoning Part One
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
This is what I think
1. Super Mario movie
2. Mission Impossible 7
3. Fast X
4. GOTG3
5. Aquaman 2
6. Transformers 7
7. Indiana Jones 5
8. The Flash
9. Ant man 3
10. The Marvels
1. Marvel will continue the tradition of having its movies in top 10, but there will be a downtrend that will again prevent it from top 3(same as 2022)
2. Super Mario movie will shock everyone and become the highest grossing film of the year.
3. All top 4 movies I mentioned will make a $1B
mario is no shock for me if it becomes nr 1
You think Aquaman will make more than Transformers? Interesting

Aquaman 2
Indiana Jones 5
Guardians 3
Shazam 2
Flash
Mario
Not Shazam 2, it's released in between Creed 3, Scream, John Wick and Dungeons and Dragons
The only movies I see making a billion this year are
The Little Mermaid
Transformers
Fast and Furious 10
Aquaman 2
Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning
Mario!!!!!!
Antman 3
Little Mermaid...yeah right
Movie of the year is between 4
Mission impossible
Guardians of galaxy
John wick

In terms of box office
Fast x

Mario I don’t know about
Ant man

Fast X for sure. They are definitely bringing Brian back with CGI.
I don't think neither movies but I think the super Mario movie what make the most money but not billion
Nah don’t bet on the iconic character that is Mario.
Don't sleep on Barbie.. the inevitable great reviews will give it longer legs than miss Barbie herself

I liked Detective Pikachu aesthetically and creatively speaking but would have liked a better script.
More like Margot Barbie now! 😂
Wow
I‘m kinda shocked Rob forgot his most anticipated CBM in The Flash.
I‘m torn because of Ezra but I wanna see Keaton so bad and hopefully an epic scene with Batfleck.
If it gets a China release and has great action, I‘d could get to a billion.
I pay attention to movie news. And I had no idea there was another Hunger Games movie coming out.
So why are you watching a movie news show?
@@Living_Matrix1 typo. I pay attention to movie news.
Whatever happened to the two “hosts” we got introduced and everything, did anyone ever mention what happened?
You mean the two women? John let them go. The cover story was they were too busy to commit to the schedule of the show. The truth was they just weren't needed. John still did the hosting. All they did was read the letters. No point in paying someone a salary just to do that. John made a mistake but will never admit it

Dead reckoning will make a billion especially coming off of top gun plus mission impossible is a franchise that just keeps getting bigger and bigger each movie
@@criticinsider7989 God I hope you're right. I need one of these to make A Billion.
one reason it will not hit a billion dollar Disney+
Fast and Furious 10, Aquaman 2, The Flash (if it is true as James Gunn said it's one of the greatest superhero movie he has ever been), Mission Impossible 7, Indiana Jones (if it gets reviewed well), Next Transformers etc. movies has chance to touch or cross $1 billion us dollars in the box office
Mario ,guardians and fast x have the best chance and I think dune 2 it's the new Godzilla king of the monsters where people are overating how well that movie it's going to do I think general audiences hated that movie
The Wizard!! Not sure if a Nintendo movie but they def had to say yes a lot.
The 1st few Pokemon movies at least had the Nintendo logo at the start.
Wait, there's a new Hunger Games movie coming out? Not my thing, but I never knew they were making another one.
It's a prequel, so no Jennifer Lawrence
Barbie?
Scream 6 baby! I find it sad that films with no plot like F9 have more audiences than some great horror films.
In the "might join the billion dollar club" maybe The Flash ?
One potential impediment to The Little Mermaid is that the story is ocean themed. Comparisons between it and Avatar 2 will happen.
So is Aquaman? what does that really matter though?
Like with Aquaman, Little Mermaid will probably treat underwater like most movies do where the actors are on wires and can magically move through it almost as easily as air, so I doubt there will be much comparison. It doesn't really matter that much anyway. Whether it's urban, desert, forest, or water, they're all just biomes to tell a potential story in.
Why’d they totally forget mentioning the Flash?
I think it will do well. All depends on the marketing
I thought the same bro!! No way the flash don’t make a bill! How is this being overlooked?! Lol
@@j.a420 The Flash not only will NOT make a billion, but has flopped and will lose money.

Your analysis is highly flawed.
Those dislikes are from a movie no one has seen,..AND they are really just hateful people review bombing it,.LoL
@@syahmioziar5290 But who is disliking it? Would the review bombing haters have gone to see the movie even if it had a white girl playing Ariel? Doubt it so I think the dislike ratio won't have much affect here.
@@briano7986 i would agree if the dislike is under 1 mil or around 1 mil. Also, i know Little Mermaid won't do well in Asian countries.
@@briano7986 Yes, they would have. Not all of them but atleast 1/3 of them will go.
I agree with all their movies. Marvel needs some billion dollar pics. I really think ant man 3 because of Kang has a big chance to get to a billion. I think GOG3 will def make it to a billion. I really want the marvels to get to a billion. If it’s a good film. It will that goes for all 3 of the marvel films. The only one I’m on the fence about is MI and Indiana jones. Those two I just don’t know about. I don’t feel like they have the universal draw. Top gun had nostalgia and the Air Force factor working in its favor. I just don’t see MI getting to a billion. I think Indiana jones will do around 800 mil.
LoL,..why does the MCU "need" to have more billion dollar grossers?
Dont, get me wrong, I LOVE and adore the MCU and its the only reason I even have Disney+ but as long as they make money they'll continue the MCU and thats fine.
They've been producing 007 movies since the early 1960's and that franchise has remained profitable enough to continue all this time ( from 1964 right up to now LoL)
BTW dude,...Top Gun is NOT an Air Force movie,... its a US Navy movie as clearly seen by all the US NAVY aircraft and that HUGE NAVY aircraft carrier in the damn movie and the fact that every main character refers to themselves as "Naval Aviators"!
Top Gun did not earn over ONE BILLION just based on nostalgia. It earned all that money because it was an old fashioned simple story that was appealing to people with more brain cells then apps on their phones and whom dont need constant validation from tiktok and instagram !
Indy Jones is like the Lara Croft games only GOOD,..LoL! Even the 4th Indy is better than ANY Lara Croft flick!
I love how Campea keeps shitting on gingers every time the Little Mermaid comes up.
