      Are you referring to the wealth of scientific research that shows that trans people's identities should be respected? Are you referring to the predominant linguistic position of linguistic descriptivism, which is the belief that words don't have inherent meaning, and we should instead use words in the most useful manner? Are you referring to basically every doctors organization in the country supporting trans healthcare? Or the American Association of Biological Anthropologists supporting trans identities?
      "The American Association of Biological Anthropologists, the American Association of Anthropological Genetics, the Dental Anthropology Association, the Paleopathology Association, The PaleoAnthropology Society, the Biological Anthropology Section of the American Anthropological Association, and the Human Biology Association stand together against the escalating legislation and governance in the United States and across the globe that attacks the existence of transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse peoples. We affirm the power of all persons to make the ultimate decisions over what happens to our/their own bodies. We oppose legislation that is rooted in and maintains rigid binary conceptions of sex and gender which impact reproductive justice and access to care for everyone. We condemn the biological essentialism driving much of this legislation. As biological anthropologists, we condemn the historical role of our discipline in producing binaries of sex, gender, and sexuality and are committed to work that enacts a more livable world. We condemn discrimination and denial of healthcare for youth and adults, including care that is gender and life affirming. We stand for the lives of transgender, non-binary, gender and sex diverse, and queer communities."
      You claim to stand with science, but you dont stand with the scientists. Maybe you are more scientifically educated than every biological and linguistic association in the country. Somehow, I find it more likely you dont understand the scientist's arguments.

      The contrast was so insane to me! Here was this group of people who didn't trust Big Government with anything at home, thinking that very same Big Government was going to set things right in Iraq and Afghanistan. I moved to Poland over a year ago. I am an immigrant and I had to go thru the process of applying for residency, filling out paperwork, struggling with the language, and paying for a translator. Why do immigrants coming into the USA feel so entitled that they should just get to live as illegal immigrants.
    Go thru the process, fill out the paperwork and have a reason for wanting to live there. Don't just act like you're somehow entitled to live there.

    • @vlonjate80
      @vlonjate80 2 месяца назад +23

      Yeah ok, but you are missing the point of people risking their lives to be smuggled to US. You chose to move to Poland, moving from a rich and stable country to an EU country, while a lot of people who try to get to developed countries such as US, EU countries, or even Britain come from underdeveloped countries, where they may risk of dying from getting killed or lack of work, thus the desperation to get out. I understand the whole "wait in line till you get your docs straightened out", but most people don't have that luxury. They risk their lives to get a safer place, even if they know they may make it or not. I was also an immigrant, in 2 different countries, followed the process, but luckily i was not in such dire straits as so many others. A lot of people who will take the journey of trying to get into another country illegally do it out of desperation...while also becoming indebted to smuglers with either life or money. So, yeah the immigration process for many it's not a matter of feeling entitled, but trying to survie.

    Here's a thing. The Dem party used to be all about the blue-collar working class: the grimy industrial and rural working class who made our economy run. When we became a "service economy" we essentially drove those people into poverty in the name of cheap plastic from China. There are no factory jobs, just minimum wage at big box stores for them. The Dem party became all about the white-collar, college educated, suburban middle class. Those people are doing fine, they can afford to worry about things like pronouns and privilege. Blue-collar workers are worried about paying rent, feeding their kids, and not getting mugged by drug addicts. They are way less socially progressive; their focus is jobs and inflation because they are busy trying to survive.

    I have a far left white sister who lives in Portland, Oregon. She is in such a bubble. I told her it is more difficult to have discussions about racism with her than with non-white people I've had conversations with. I'm center-left and never a MAGA, but rather than her concede that non-white people as a group are not as far left as she is, she accuses me of empowering white supremacy because i won't completely submit to her new religion. The far left will continue to flagellate, i guess, and it is up to the political center in this country to fight battles on two fronts, alone.
    It would be great if the remaining republicans, who believe in republicanism, as opposed to GOP MAGA, could align with moderates of all stripes, including the center-left, and we could do this. But, the 2-party system and disinformation is so entrenched now, and social-identity alignments are so strong...I'm not optimistic.
    EDIT: As proof of my contention of disinformation, a comment on my post said Trump is the only president in living memory who is appointing cabinet members from the opposing party. It has thus far received 18 likes.
    RFK and Tulsi Gabbard became independents when they wanted to court Trump. Obama appointed 4 Republicans to his cabinet, and none of them needed to become independents beforehand nor disavow their party as a condition to serve in government.
    (A well-formed question into a Google search found unbiased sources for this information, instantly. Too many people are in bubbles of disinformation or are just plain lazy.)

The vast majority of so called 'comedians' in the mainstream media in this country are pompous, cowardly, condescending, left wing hypocrites. And to add insult to injury, most of them aren't funny either. For me, the biggest culprit is Adam Hills. The people are terrified of not being the furthest left in the room, and are vicious in prying out the slightest bit of heresy or blasphemy from someone so they can shriek and point at a racist fascist. They gleefully embraced Jabartheid, and competed to hate and punish the unjabbed the most. They were delighted to have a two tiered society where they were allowed to hate, and be considered the "good" people for doing so. I know literally one other conservative in this city. They could be hiding and keeping silent to keep their jobs, acquaintances, relatives, or property, I suppose. The left is the party of authoritarianism and intolerance, of censorship and violence. I ask you, what has a trans person done to you? I'm 53 and I can't say I have ever met one. I dont live in a big city, granted, but I'm pretty sure that no one is forced to go to where trans people hang out and dance with them or hang out. I'm not forced to put on cowboy clothes and go linedancing like it's Halloween and I'm cosplaying Roy Roger's. I find that equally as silly, but it doesn't compel me to elect the worst person I have ever seen to lead the country. The simple fact that the guy is a malignant sociopathic narcissist should be enough not to put them in charge of things. The fact that he is a sexual predator should be enough. The fact that he is physically incapable of doing anything honestly should be enough, but " I don't want my daughter playing football with boys" was enough to hand our whole country to a bunch of comically ridiculous criminals leaves me very scared for the future of the human race.

    I agree 100% with Bill Maher here. As a lifelong liberal, I had to become Republican when I realized how far the Left Wing has shifted to the Left. It's like they have completely stopped talking about real issues. As Bill Maher said, I don't want men competing against women in sports. That defeats the very idea of feminism. Just a return back to common sense would have stopped Democrats from being demolished at every single branch of government in this election. Please talk about the economy, and common people issues instead of feeding me transgender rights and Israel-Palestine issues 24*7. Addressing radical Islam issues is also very important. Palestine is not a queer-loving country. It's just common sense.

      Trump ramble on. But who can actually hear f a black woman contender when all she kept yapping about is increasing tax credit for small business, stopping price gouging at the grocery store, building more homes to solve the housing issues, extending the price reductions of commonly used drugs to all people, day care tax breaks. I did see a Trump commercial, though, where she agreed with the jail transgender policy Trump signed when he was president. She deviate a little bit when she was yapping about signing the bipartisan immigration bill if elected cause that's what most people wanted. Any working class blue collar white collar Americanwho voted for Trump despite the harrowing promises he made to be a dictator and increase tariffs, cut taxes on social security, and give us another term of deadly communicable diseases was not listening to anyone of them. They were focused on he and she and their respective skin tones. How is that for pronouns and racism.

      Kamala's campaign was not about any of that. She ran an almost flawless campaign. Those "issues" were brought up and hammered on by Trump's supporters. Democrats are losing the information and disinformation war, as usual.

      Honestly, the Democrats should've gone further on Israel-Palestine and canceled the arms shipments to Israel. The US needs to end its support of the Netanyahu government like the rest of the world.

      @@MrBrock314 You guys are exactly the problem. You guys who want to pull the Democrat party from a centre-left position to the far left position. You're the reason why Democrats are getting trashed at every election this time. The illogical support to Palestine (when the support should always be for Israel fighting a lonely battle against Islamic terror), the transgender issues (which even make less sense because they will hang you in Palestine for being gay, but not in Israel). You guys are the reason why people have no choice but to vote Republican. Get your filthy gutter far Left extremism out. Don't be anti-common sense. Everybody hates wokes, liberals included. A tiny 1% who ruin the name of Democrats and don't listen to 99% of the people. Democrats have performed better in House elections (although Republicans still have an overwhelming majority) because most House Democrats are centre-left. It means that people love common sense. Get that woke shit out of schools and college campuses.
