In the summer of 2016 we learned of a young man, Josh Jones, who at the age of only 8 years old had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. 14 surgeries and nearly 10 years later a second brain tumor was found. That Spring, some youth from his local church congregation organized a secret "Prom" in Josh's honor unbeknownst to him. The organizers of the dance reached out to The Gents, and well.... watch the full video to find out what happened next.
A couple of months later on June 11, 2106, GENTRI had the privilege of hosting Josh and his family at their public show at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater in Layton, UT -- just 2 months prior to Josh's passing on Aug. 22, 2016.

This touch a cord with me, my young niece Cherish was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 18 months, we were told then to prepare for her funeral before the age of 5, that even if she survived to that age she would never go to school and would be a mental vegetable.....she is getting ready to turn 12 this year. She has defied all medical knowledge on her condition, she's under gone 6 yearly rounds of successful chemo, has under gone 5 brain surgeries, 2 port access, 1 deaccess surgery and 3 shunt surgeries She is currently in middle school. She runs, she rides a tricycle bike, has friends and is a beautiful and kind hearted little lady. I feel for the parents and I know that the loss of a child is something that no time nor distance will ever heal that hurt, I just hope they know that God holds children extra close to him and that that should bring them comfort.
