Basically they have a certain style and a certain singing strategy that the contestant has to reach and that’s when they turn around when they hear what they’re looking for

Some people have such talent 3rd guy was my fav. ... I wish i could sing like that but i was overlooked when talents where given lol... Hats off to all these awesome singers.
Just my humble opinion but I believe the reason alot of the judges are reluctant to turn is because of their short comings IE they may be a balad singer and they don't think they can coach a rock singer. They need a more balanced panel of judges.

A judge in Australia said that they are told by the producers not to turn quick. They have to make things as "dramatic" as possible.
A lot of the time they wait because the contest not Distraction
