    I'm making my Mandalorian armor made out of metal, it's been such a great time to build during this times. And unexpectedly easier than I thought. About the design it self I'm going with a medieval with a bit of a African style on the painting, I'm trying to use a lot of recicle materials as I can, it saves money a lot by the way

    dig the idea of the concept board! I might steal that for use in planning a few projects :) When it comes time to look into the weapons I would suggest looking at what gear the military of various northern forces use or did use (Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Canada), could give some added depth to the cold climate idea you are working on.

    Loving the build! The reason why the mercs don't allow EVA foam is that it doesn't last as long as other materials. After a time it will start to crease and warp. A material they recommend is a rigid PVC foam board called Sintra, incredibly light but hard wearing. Apply heat to it and it will mould nicely to fit your body.
    Can't wait to see your build come together vod! I met my fiancée through this community and we get the opportunity to troop together in her twi'lek mando.

    A friend of mine renovated her house and used a concept board (I think interior designers use another name?) and had color plates, fabric swatches, carpet samples, flooring samples etc for each room in order that the whole house had the same theme/style. Her house was stunning at the end and she told me one of the keys was find a color palette that you like eg. dinner plate with many colors and use it as they were complimentary and pleasing colors to her. That then became the basis for paint, wallpaper, fabric and carpet color selection. I enjoy getting design ideas whether it be from Interior Designers or Cosplay costume makers who make something out of nothing! :)

    Hi guys, really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
    Leatherworking is one of my hobbies, and I've always found that the easiest way to dye veg tan leather evenly is to damp it down with water first (using a spray bottle or sponge) and then use a small sheepskin pad (I cut them out of an old sheepskin jacket that I picked up in a charity shop) to apply the dye. I find that this tends to give a less streaky appearance than using daubers, especially on larger pieces. I have always found dyeing to be one of the more difficult aspects of the craft to get the hang of, so I hope this helps.

    A technique I like using for distressing is using a hammer to beat up the fabric against a concrete floor or stone slab. I actually cut the sleeve off of a top for a post-apocalyptic costume that way. Looked really good because it wasn't clean. Sure its slower, but way more believable.
    Also using a holesaw for a drill (but not in the drill, held in hand) to do torn edges by dragging it over the edge looks way more natural then trying to do it with scissors.

    Yikes ....sowing is that how it's said? Who knows... it's terrifying anyroad.you turn inside the outside and pins and pens and pencils and erasers and then Mrs Brian used the light saber ,yea I sure she did. Together with some Force and wow I had to take a rest with a huge mug of mandalorian coffee. Looking pretty fantastic...

    Love your channel! There is 1 tiny little thing gnawing at my brain and I hope you can forgive me for pointing it out: It is spelled and pronounced "Figrin D'an", not "Firgin D'an"; the G comes before the R [unless you are related to Brett Favre (Farve?), in which case all bets are off] Again, please forgive my pettiness in pointing this out.

    Hello my name is Josh Addante I was just watching your video for your Mando build and with the fact that you are building it out of foam, I would like to invite you to join the Kit Finders Costume Club. We accept all costume types, and we try to be better then the big 3 clubs. If you have more questions about KFCC let me know.

    If I were skilled enough I’d probably build my own armor from Eva foam attach it to or wear it on top of a long sleeve shirt turtleneck type thing

    Don’t know how you both do it. My first project is kicking my butt big time. Or maybe I’m over thinking it.

      LOL, we don't really know either, we just have so much fun we can't stop! Don't overthink it my friend, just enjoy it. You will find it gets much easier the more you do it.

      Yeah, sorry. We are really wanting to experiment with EVA foam. Been wanting to make some stuff with SKS HD Foam.

      @TheSmugglersRoom 4 года назад

      LOL, it is actually a design that she came up with a while back. At first we just liked the design, but as time has gone on we thought it would be a great "CLAN" symbol. We will be sharing more on what it means in coming episodes soon!

    I find it very odd and frankly just gate keeping saying that certain materials arent allowed in specific capacities, especially since EVA is a cheap option. Im sure that if you made a suit without saying that its primarily EVA and posted pictures it would be near impossible to tell the difference.

    Using EVA foam where it is forbidden? Sacrilege! You lost the way brother. You are lost.
    Joking aside. Nothing wrong with using EVA. It can look beautiful in the end. Just feel sorry for the copious amounts of sweat you'll be producing while wearing it.

    • @TheSmugglersRoom
      @TheSmugglersRoom 4 года назад +1

      Ha! 🤣🤣🤣. I’m not sure the EVA armor will be the source of the sweat . . . But there will be copious amount of it I’m sure.
