The Project is coming along nicely. I like the small details. The added adjustability to the vest will help them be comfortable for when you are hunting down bounties.
Thanks Wayne, she is doing a brilliant job with it. I think that the time we are taking on each layer will be very noticeable when the project is complete.
Yes!!! We have such specific goals with these pieces and the amount of detail that we want. Plus that just makes it so much more "us" to just build from scratch! If you took it up, there are so many how-to videos (obviously) out there that could help you learn, even the sewing machine websites have videos if you want to take baby-steps to learning! You can start simple, like with a mask or something just to get your feet wet!
Thanks, we always stress so much because that's what we want to do!!! But totally agreed. I will be posting a 'finished' pic or quick vid after I get it buttoned up!
@@TheSmugglersRoom I think I speak for a good many of your viewers, we’d rather see a video of you guys building cool stuff, even if the project isn’t 100% complete at the end than not having a video at all. The costume looks really cool so far, incredible attention to detail with the different stitching and layering!
Hey, take your time! The more you work in it the better it will come out. Awesome video! Thank you for you and your husband do. To take us a prop building far, far, away. 💥👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿😁👍🏿
I want to thank you so much for this! I've only ever sewn a very basic flak vest for my Mandalorian and this is so inspiring and incredibly helpful! Seeing the entire process visualised will hopefully help me get rid of some of my sewing idiosyncrasies! I can't thank you enough and will be following your progress closely. Greetings from a fellow Mando ;)
If nothing else (although there is a LOT more), this is a excellent demonstration of the complexity of custom fabric based costumes and the skills required to create them. I am impressed. Thank you for sharing this project with us.
THANK YOU! We are so excited to be making progress. We really wanted to focus on details that you may not even notice till you are up close, watching costume design for some of the best movies, you may or may not see all the detail that goes into the garments, and that is what we are going for... Thanks for watching!
It’s awesome to see you guys take on this aspect of prop making I always found the Star Wars jackets jumpsuits and clothing in general to be an awesome part of the behind the scenes
Awesome work! The soft parts are certainly the hardest to get a handle on. I'm just in awe watching this, I'd have sewn at least one finger into the seam somewhere!
Thank you, we're working on a schedule that would put a mando out around every 5-6 weeks inbetween room builds and some other fun, wacky and crazy projects!
This is so so wonderful, I love it.. this is such great detail and I wish I had enough skills with sewing to pull something like this off. (Hopefully sometime in the future) Also glad to hear you guys ditch the self loathing weight joke when discussing adjustment on the vest like last time. It certainly felt a lot more validating and reflective of the amazing craftsmanship and skill you both have in this community with NO hinderance on size needed in any respect. Star Wars and mandalore belongs to us all. Thank you for the content!
Carissa is awesome, and brings a whole new vibe to the SR, and I love it! And watching her work gives me a new hope as I strike back into working on my mando soft parts! What a great Episode!
HA HA HA HA!!! I'm glad to hear you think that, sometimes I really struggle!!! I love drawing those lines like the baseball stitching and that makes a world of difference, but I really can't do that for everything!
Awesome Mrs Smuggler, I watched this with Mrs Rebel Base to encourage her to get on screen and out of my after credits 😉😉😉 I think we may be getting somewhere. Great work.
Cant wait to see the armour making episode!!! This is gonna look 👍 👌. I'd like to see more of the problem solving part of the how to and less of the actual sewing. I find the aspect of figuring out how to make patterns and adjust things to fit absolutely fascinating! Can we get more of the work-through?
LOL! I think that mine wants to do that sometimes! It can for sure be intimidating, but with all the 'how to' videos out there, I feel like now you can take baby steps to learning. I do know that there are some machines out there that could be 'starter' machines to learn on but not spend tons of money... Thank you for watching.
Are you doing a Twi'lek Mando? I can give you some pointers on it, since that is what mine is. I'll have to remember to notch the seams. The vest turned out great.
Oh that is a good idea! we'll have to consider that, It might be hard for me because I like to show off those Lekku, but we'll certainly look at doing that!
So well done Carissa ! I think that you, both of you, could wear this cosplay in town without nobody guests you are wearing an other thing that a beautyfull suit ! But I also could bet ten euros that you should win all the cosplay contests wich you will participate ! Now I will wait both of you wearing not only the suit but also all the pieces of the armories, all the weapons and all the gribllies that a advised pair of mandaloriens needs to have to survive and live a long and peacefull life !
It looks like that pattern is no longer available from Simplicity 😭 Or am I just somehow entirely missing it? Also, I'm now fighting the urge to borrow my mom's spare sewing machine... This video gave me so many great ideas for after it's safe for me to go into stores again! But until then I have no fabric so borrowing the sewing machine would be kinda pointless 😂
Did I!!! I wouldn't be surprised, I'm very 'green' with these recordings and it's not been in my wheelhouse of things I'm good at!!! Thank you for watching, regardless of the redundancy! ;)
I can't wait to see the finished prop... So probably a year... Take your time, it is better to take a long time then rush it and ruin the project. I speak from experience, it is good to stop for a minute or two and just look at what you did and where you stand. Just... Make sure you don't start to look at it more then an hour or you probably never finish it. Like I said experience.
I can confirm, dogs are terrified of ironing boards and cats as usual are indifferent unless you kick them off the ironing board to iron. Indifference vs responsible great of something that will hurt you? I'm on the dogs side. I've been burned by an iron. Dumb cats!
Too bad my wife isn't as much of a geek as I am.. Let's see how my girls (3y / 1m) will turn out later 😅 Great job btw.. but you know that without me mentioning 😉
A whole Carissa EPISODE!!! Awesome work!! I am in love with your amazingly talented family!!
Thank you! She was super nervous, but did a great job. So glad you enjoyed it!
Mrs Smuggler has a wonderfully soothing voice!
Oh, Thank you!!! Hope you enjoyed the video and have a nice weekend!

Awesome star wars mandolorian costume , I think it would be awsome !!! I what to make a star wars costume to and many crafts ... inspired by you !!!
I love that you are crafting the whole piece, flight suit and vest. I wish I could sew, definitely a learning process. Great work Carissa

@@TheSmugglersRoom I did get a sewing machine from my grandmother but I haven't really had a chance to sit and learn yet
Is always great to see Carissa and Brian working in awesome stuff, this time Carissa making this awesome Mandalorian costume 👏👏👏
Don’t worry so much about completing a project in one video, it’s just good to see the process of how you guys make stuff!
Thanks, we always stress so much because that's what we want to do!!! But totally agreed. I will be posting a 'finished' pic or quick vid after I get it buttoned up!

When it comes to a Mando costume there is a LOT of learning.
Whats up you awesome geeks! Wife's takin over the show!!! THE SMUGGLETTES ROOM.... thats comin up!

Looking good! Even with the speed bumps. The event is going to be so much fun wearing these. Jelly.
Makers make, no matter how long it takes. Keep up the great work and I hope to see more costume work on this channel.

Thank you! Love the mandalorian builds
Thanks, we can move on to some fun armor next!!! woot! Thanks for watching!
It boggles my mind how awesome the two of you are! You really should open a prop and costume shop! #SomethingOutOfNothingMentors!
You rock my friend. Very humbled. Thank you!
Wow that is great craftsmenship, it looks great. Keep up your beautiful work. ❤️
Thank you Danny! We'll steam ahead!!!! Thank you for watching and have a nice weekend!

Fantastic words of advice for all makers in here!
Thank you!
Another great video. Always fun to see Ms. Smuggler. Also, extremely satisfying to watch costumes being made.

I’m so hyped to see how the helmets come together
Yes! A Carissa episode! I love when Mrs Smuggler takes over :) Your videos are so helpful putting together the soft parts of a female kit from scratch
And just like that a Star ⭐️ is born great work Carissa really enjoyed the episode !!!!
Thank you so much!!! Have a wonderful weekend!
Flight suite looks great
Wow! Skills, skills and more skills! 👌
Thanks! I'm also always learning!!!
Awesome job Carissa!!! Hope to see more soon

Purple nails look great
Wow, you sew straighter lines by hand than I can draw with a ruler!
What a fine pair of Twinkies you're going to make.
HA HA HA HA!!! I'm glad to hear you think that, sometimes I really struggle!!! I love drawing those lines like the baseball stitching and that makes a world of difference, but I really can't do that for everything!
Finally! I’m so excited to see this done!
Makes me want to take on a costume. I have built many props but not a full costume! Thanks Carissa for the motivation!
You can do it!
Awesome Mrs Smuggler, I watched this with Mrs Rebel Base to encourage her to get on screen and out of my after credits 😉😉😉 I think we may be getting somewhere. Great work.
Thank you!!! Hope she gives it a try. We need more ladies of the Galaxy out there!
Those Wool pads are the b omb. We have several in several sizes. Nice work!
I've been wanting one for a long time and finally pulled the trigger, I love it, but probably need one a little bigger too! Thanks for watching!

Looks Great!!!
If you aren't too busy I need one in a XXL. TIA!
Really excited to see the complete Mandalorian Costume!!!
Me too! We'll be continuously working on it over the next several months, so expect a video around every 5-6 weeks!
So cool. The sewing machine is one machine I have not conquered. I walk near it, it folds up and runs away.
LOL! I think that mine wants to do that sometimes! It can for sure be intimidating, but with all the 'how to' videos out there, I feel like now you can take baby steps to learning. VERY talented young lady..!
And very cool !
Your doing awesome work! You are motivating me to want to make my own

love watching all your videos ! great ideas ! I've learned a lot and I've even used some of your ideas for my projects , keep it up 1
This project is huge!!
Thank you! we need to get back to it!
Have y'all been able to finish your Mandalorian kits? Im dying to see how they turned out!
Awesome job!!!!
Fantastic episode!!
Thank you very much!
The time has come
I can't wait, i love your videos
If i remember correctly you are doing mando twi’leks right? You should put armor plating on the head tails, I think that would look cool.
Oh that is a good idea! we'll have to consider that, It might be hard for me because I like to show off those Lekku, but we'll certainly look at doing that!

mad skills!

As a wise sith once said. "I've been looking forward to this"
HA!!! Thank you for watching, have a nice weekend!
Where did you get the pattern from?
Carissa actually created most of it from scratch. She used a simple pattern as a start, and then created her own from it.
We need a part 5!!!!😭😲😠
Were we... Were we just treated with TWO 'That's coming up's?
Did I!!! I wouldn't be surprised, I'm very 'green' with these recordings and it's not been in my wheelhouse of things I'm good at!!! Thank you for watching, regardless of the redundancy! ;)

LOL, cats . . . crazy creatures!
A 14 minute sewing video? I'm not going to watch that.
I watched it. All of it.
