This was one of my favorite childhood movies. And I always thought the end theme was madly spectacular. Every time the end credits would start rolling, I would find myself dancing to this song with passion. Gotta love the classics.
Don't know if you peeps are aware, but there was a Happy Hardcore version of this classic song released back in 1997, one DJ Stompy - "Come Follow Me"; one of the best HH tunes ever, no more, no less. Just punch 'stompy come follow me' into the search bar (any of the topmost 3 vids will do), and then make sure to turn the volume UP!!!!!!!!
i remember watching this on vhs when i was like 5 and remember i cried when the movie ended with the amazing song and beautiful scenery. i get nostalig everytime i see it.
i remember watching this on vcr when i was about 5 or 6 and i especially remember crying a bit even though it was a good ending and it always gets me a bit nostalgic when i hear about this movie, good times.......
I've no idea and I was asking myself the same question! Most of the scenes we see during the credits are from the movie, but I've always wondered if the others had been deleted, like the one with the small white robot. I wish there was a special edition of the movie with deleted scenes. And I have to say it again: I love this song!
Holy crap I remember 4:11 so very well. 16 years gone by (I was 8 when I watched this, I was born in 86, the year the movie came out) and I still remember watching this over and over trying to find that part in the movie. You'd think I would have been smart enough to figure it out, but no not me. I was a stupid kid.
PS. Having said that, HUUUUGE respect to David Shire, Max Carl and Marcy Levy for the simply brilliant original, one of my top 3 80s end themes (along with Amy Holland - "Shooting For The Moon" and Jack Mack & The Heart Attack - "I'm Gonna Be Somebody") Respect!!!
#5 had seen a three stooges movie in Stephanie's (Ally) house and the other three robots were later dispatched to shut him down. He caught all three robots then rewired and reprogrammed them to act out the scene. The junk yard shots were used later in part 2 when the diamond thieves tried to recycle him.
@OliveJewel It's some kind of actual toy robot from the 80s... but I'd put money on the Pixar guys having been heavily influenced by the short circuit films in their designs for Wall-E and putting plentiful affectionate references in on purpose :)
Now....... Even if you're not a fan of Hardcore in general (guessing that would apply to most ;-)), I hope you'll agree with me that if you yourself were to try and do a version of this tune in that style, you couldn't POSSIBLY come up with better than this astounding production! Geezer should get free beers the rest of his life I reckon :-)
I have the dvd of this and the second movie. It would have been nice if they included the deleted scenes in some bonus footage with Johnny and that little robot, or when he’s in the junkyard…but they don’t :/
11 million for the computer and the work to get one online I would assume. A plane as parts is cheap compared to a pre-assembled plane that comes with all the trimmings and fuel.
That final mountain shot is the greatest extreme-long- shot in an 80s movie. It's like a landscape painting.
The Cascades to be specific

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!! when I was younger, And yes at the end when WE ALL THOUGHT!! No. 5 was blew up I had a tear in my eye.
movie endings today, will never be as touching as short circuit and others, as they were back then....
5 stars...a great song that was a perfect finishing touch to a great movie. Absolutely hilarious film
Man I remember watchin this when I was a boy and I still love it now. I really love Johnny 5 and Stephanie.
Totally love this movie.. too bad they don't make movies like this anymore

Shooting for the moon along with this one makes me tear up.

Then thank you for it. I didn't know who sang it.
Long live Johnny 5!!

Some these scenes in the ending credits must have been deleted scenes.
The Ending moved me as much as the Death of Optimus Prime in Transformers - The Movie (1986) 😢🙏💪⭐️💫🕊
Great bonus: every time this movie's on TV in Britain they ALWAYS let these credits play out!
I would kill to see these deleted scenes! Ugghhhhh!
Squasheed....Dead,
Disassembled.....Dead
DISASSEMBLE.....DEAD!!!!!!
No Disassemble!!!!!!
Long live Johnny 5, Stephanie Speck and Crosby.
80’s movies just seemed to have more imagination
You'd think they would have reprised the theme song "Who's Johnny" by El Debarge in the closing credits.

Johnny 5: Call Me Johnny, Johnny 5.
That killed me because it was taken out of the movie.
And that's how Johnny 5 got his name in the end.
Oh, thank you! I'm going to check right away.
Caught this again on SyFy earlier today. timeless movie.
E.T phone home?..... -_-
Number 5 is ALIVE!! :D

Number 5 survived and that stoker dude was fired, which is what I think he deserved.

Those scenes are gone, sadly
That was part of a deleted scene.
fuck yeah
love this movie
cooooooool
2:04 Yo!
He stays in Montana with Stephanie. I guess they wanted to be romatic without Johnny popping in saying "I hope you brought enough for everybody!"
That robot is actually a Omnibot 2000, a personal toy robot from I think '84...though it doesn't do much compared to today's toys -_-

Where R2D2 meets in the real world or in memory of WALL-E :)

Both movies are on iTunes for $10.
Why the three robots are hitting themselves ?
Aw. How many cats and kittens does she have?

Two statements. Were 4:28 - 4:49 and 3:33 - 3:37 deleted scenes too?
