- Hello everyone,
In this episode we meet Ricky and his awesome build. Ricky started with the 240sx but after he sold it to his uncle, he found himself without a car. So what did he do? Of course, come to the dark side of Hondas lol With the help from his dad he was able to start messing with Hondas. After a couple of hiccups along the way, he is now building his Civic Si in the color he wanted with the modifications he wanted. it is so nice to see Ricky continue to mess with cars. It would be even more awesome if he does accomplish his goal of taking the car to London. We shall see, thank you Ricky for making the three hr drive and sharing your story! #automotiveanatomy

Facts!
This is my front neighbor, BECAUSE OF THIS GUY, I fell in love with the EM1 chassis, SPECIFICALLY EBP! I’ve seen ALL the stages of this car man. This man, is straight up, humble and super out going man. Every time we see each other always end up talking about cars and stay out side for about an hour , him just listening to me talk about my rsx “PLANS” lmao , but this guy is super humble man!

Amen. I took auto shop class, junior and senior year in one of the most updated high school shop in California back in 00 01.
Got me going and the rest was learned from youtube.
Now I build my own motor and diagnose my own cars.
For me - simple and clean is the stock look, lowered with nice fitted (period correct) rims. The only visual mod should be a front lip and full exhaust... Each to their own (fd2r owner here) 👍

Dude the side front angle of this car is OOOOH wonderful! That inside is amazing the Sparco's sit nice, I like the style of the passenger a little bit more but both are still nice. His engine bay looks so clean I would not think it's stock.

Love his whole back story!!! Yet I teach Automotive Technology for high school students 9th-12th. I have both of my '89 & '97 Civic sedans for them to work on alongside with me!

Most definitely, I got all the energy suspension bushings which I know so many forget/ neglect doing. It improves the over all ride and handling sooo much. Along with window moldings, Windshield wiper cowl, gonna re spray it black soon, got new vtec stickers, si badge, new floor mats, nrg seats, momo steering wheel, nrg shirt hub and quick release, steel braided brake lines, new brake pads, camber kit, new skunk 2 LCA’s, new tires, fuel filter, timing belt, sub & amp, window visors, tie rod ends, front upper and both rear strut bars! There’s more I just can’t think of all the parts.. some of that list I have some on back order the rest like radiator, intake, exhaust, coil overs, is already on the car
Overall a really clean build and story!🔥🔥

Not gonna lie. The only disappointment was of course the B20. The B16 would've definitely put the cherry on top, however, he seems happy with it and I'm sure it's quicker than most. As long as one day he plans to put a b16 back in.
B20 was just to be back on the road man. Eventually he will have it back with vtec. Thanks for watching.

Sad to see a real EM1 turned into something like this. There’s not a whole lot of real ones. The ones that are left in original condition are really sought after.
Why is it sad? Just because you would not go a certain direction with a car does not make it "sad" or bad. Just different taste buds..
If you’re gonna hack a car apart, maybe choose one that’s not a rare icon. I’m all for self expression. But I would never modify my EM1 outside of maybe wheels and tires and a cat back exhaust.
