Lyrics:
How’s everybody feeling tonight? “I went to the well but the rim was dry, where did she go that girl of mine? Looked for her and I looked inside and saw the life I’d like to hide. Well I found myself on the edge of a cliff, tried to take the pain and get my throat cut. But I missed her so much my sweet Mrs. and my rotten feet just wouldn’t budge. So I took my axe and cut down that tree, where we had once begun. And I swore to god from that day forth that I’d never hold a gun. Cause if I did, they’d lock me up and I would surely run. Killed so many in your name girl, that I’d never see the sun. Was invited down to hell drank from his glass it felt just fine, I asked him where’s that girl of mine? The devil just smiled and left me behind, I smiled back and finished my beer and said adios I didn’t shed any tears. Joy descended but the flames are around, well and that devil he sure likes to gamble. I tried to stand tall and knock down that big old wall. “Everybody” I tried to stand strong but courted death all along. Sing it now! I tried to stand tall and knock down that big old wall. I tried to stand strong but courted death all along. Yeah! Thank you all for coming out here tonight!
Thx! I'm addicted
Writing on the cell phone 10x13, did Rick Grimes do a stunt in Asia?
destiny ybarra Not sure what that was about either.
@@gradenbloom1761 I was thinking in the last hour that Rick Grimes woke up in a country full of Glen's and he picks up another language. Kinda like a movie theory, it would at least give us a different walker, country and he could be in a overgrown jungle like Vietnam.
destiny ybarra I’m guessing he was with someone who wrote that on the phone then gave it to rick.
-"Holy shit do you know who that asshole was?"

I honestly gonna miss Ryan on the cast. His character was a huge addition to this show.
@Charles Gerety i mean it was pretty dramatic, dude pulled 2 big ass knifes out of his eyes lmao

This episode made beta an amazing villain, and better character!
The main beef on why he is a good villian is in 10x12 Walk With Us when he killed the young lady redeemed and survivor Mary/Gamma (R.I.P.). Gotta be mad at a man taking out a little lady whisperer. The whole madman freak out in 10x14 Look At The Flowers was one of the better side missions
Plus it shows his good side that inspired his fans

Beta is the most effortlessly intimidating character on TV.
Jack Green he’s absolutely class I feel sorry for the people who stopped watching
Nathan Lee and when Amoha tells him: walk with me in the darkness.. amazing
@@nathanlee1724 yeah i don't get the weird as fuck people that watching this show, and it's funny that everyone stopped watch when glenn died, and even when they keep watching, they left when carl did,
@@nathanlee1724 The people who stop watching so far into the far are just the depressed mainstream crowd that doesn't know what to do in their lifes. If you stop something so far in, you are basically stopping a part of your life. Being so depressed really. Poor mainstream brainless birds, no patience, can't stick to a simple inspiring routine watching media
Hes legit scary in the end. He is literally controlling a heard of thousands of corpses that want to eat your flesh, and hes completely at home walking amongst them. Absolutely no fear
The way beta looks after seeing the crowd of walkers and starts to cry hit me in the feels
@Murv I think that's maybe what they were trying to convey
The Grove yeah it was. He loved performing in front of people and his songs inspiring them. Then the apocalypse came and took that life away from him and forced him to turn into this monster that does anything he can to survive. But deep down there is still a little piece of him that misses his old life and the good man he used to be
Murv yeah maybe they could make a spinoff about him. Like instead of killing him off like they did in the comics he could survive and go off on his own and we’d follow him in a different piece of media like a miniseries or amc movie
Ja jego wręcz po tym odcinku POKOCHAŁEM!!!
Gabriel Avalos or just have him in the cell forever now, being the creepy old man in the cell
R.I.P, you deserved to be on the show longer
I wish, though I know the only way he was going down was by death. Plus he was gonna kill Negan and then attack Daryl and then the rest. So I do think this was the best way, but Beta was a legend.
@_ NEGAN _ If you had Lucille, you took a swing at beta, it broke on him, so he'll pick you up, throw you, then throw a walker at you. It'll make the Negan vs Daryl a bit longer. But sadly Lucille is pretty much done with, so short fight it was.
I think the same too. The latter episodes were fine, but both Alpha and Beta's death left this massive gaping hole for me. These two antagonists carried the show from the ashes that was seasons 7 & 8 (not to take away from the original cast; they're great too).

After listening to his back story in talking dead and hearing this, it truly paints Beta in more of a sympathetic light. Dont get me wrong he is evil and his death will be earned, but he was just a talented man who both the world before and the world after robbed him of his sanity. Everyone says the show isnt as good as it was in previous seasons, but the fundamental ideas of how the world will effect people is still being explored in interesting and compelling ways.
I think the show has been the best it has ever been honestly
The writers have come up with amazing concepts to continue to mine from it what is possible - but there is still an abundance of uninspiring exposition that weighs it down. If its good moments were condensed you wouldn't have a fraction of the content.
Evil, you say? I personally think that Beta and the whisperers are crazy and insane to the point of no return, but not definitely evil. Basically everyone in the TWD is technically evil. Let's not forget that Rick and his group (considered the 'good ones') basically acted as mercenaries for Hilltop when they slaughtered the hell out of the saviours at the radio station. They didn't even knew who Negan was.
It’s improved since season 7 and 8 but it doesn’t have the same feeling as before. Not with rick and Carl gone.

It just hit me that when Beta fixed his mask with Alpha's face, it looks like a ...half moon.
Didn't realise that. I randomly thought of Phantom of the Opera
This song is 100× better than most modern non soundtrack country music.
#Negan: shit you know who this guy was?
#Daryl: yeah, it's nobody..
He should have embraced his past. Abandoning it can be seen as weak too, maybe not adaptive true, but weak. Plenty of debate to be had about one's identity and self association. Either way, Beta tore himself apart and expected everyone to be able to do that too in order to survive and thrive. That was wrong. And he lost, maybe had he opened up and shown himself, he would be respected for the changes he made to get where he was.
Beta was a coward. He was afraid to let people know how far he fell. If you learned, you died. He'd murder you to soothe his shattered ego. That's weak.
Edit:
And before anyone mentions what i mean by expressing himself, he could still be ruthless and sociopathically murder like Rick or Negan, even the Governor.
But, what Beta failed to recognize was the disarming power of his post schism status and reputation. It literally disarms people in stun when they recognize him. Which has given him the drop to kill them. Assumably he's murdered a few people more offscreen who have recognized him or he wouldn't be so damn obsessed to begin with.
He's afraid to face himself and so he has shattered his former identity to remove himself from his current actions and descent into schizophrenic insanity.
He can't live in a world where he is who he is now and who he was before. The song shows that he already had trouble identifying his path and relationship with community before the apocalypse. Dude was destined to break. Alpha should have demasked him in public numerous times as a show of power over him. He could have possibly recuperated that way.
That was amazing, I wish they would release a longer version. But glad we get a version to listen to.
I wish they would put it on spotify. I would add it to my playlist asap
When I saw the record folder where Beta dropped part of his mask I thought its a soundtrack and I went to look for the song, then daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarn... it was a little more than a minute. WTAF?
The fact that the whole audience in that recording is probably dead....
@Mcknuckels : The audience noise was from syndicated edits. The machines that created them are probably rusted out & dead tho.🤔
I love this song, it made me feel bad for Beta and wished he could have gotten a chance to change like Negan did.
@Mcknuckels unfortunately he was
@Mcknuckels Had he met someone nice who wasn't Alpha he may of been able to have been saved. Let's say he found the Commonwealth he would probably still get to perform and be his old self.

At first I loved Ryan Hurst as Opie Winston in Sons of Anarchy. Then I loved him as Chick Hogan in Bates Motel. When Beta was introduced I thought he was too one-dimensional as a villain / secondary antagonist, but as the season went on he got better and better. Now he has a fascinating backstory too, I'm glad they made him a musician as Ryan Hurst looks nothing like a basketball star.
I liked him in outsiders and saving private Ryan and the lady killers
Kinda wish Beta could’ve Lived Till Season 11 If I’ll be honest I liked him better then Alpha
Who likes alpha over Beta. Beta is a bloody tank. He took a knife to the shoulder, fell down an elevator shaft and is cold blooded.
@@leatherpants163 got shot by Rick's Python too
I mean, his background should be more like: he's always been deranged but when he was a singer he still killed people but wrote songs about it and nobody ever noticed his dark side, at the apocalipse he freed himself from the mask of society and start using his true self(killing a bunch). Around that and adding a little of craziness this fits him more.
I reckon Ryan Hurst should do a whole album one to make it feel more authentic and two I like his voice 😊 x
This song makes me nostalgic for something I have not experienced. It doesn't and at the same time makes sense to me, I don't know. Great song
Same feeling here
Strange, the same thing happens to me and brings back memories of things that have already happened.
Knowing his back story makes his character so much better, I thought for ages while watching the show that he was just some crazy guy who was in an asylum before the apocalypse
I wonder if Ryan Hurst kept a "Half Moon" album sleeve to display in his house somewhere.

Dinesh ye ricks last five episodes and they were really good episodes especially s9 ep5
This means so much more now that we saw Lucille wearing a Half Moon T-Shirt. Negan knew...Daryl Knew also but could care less

Beta is the best villian in the entire walking dead show. Most scary and deadly. So scary that when he was in Alexandria in 10x10 it felt like a horror movie.
@Jay Bray if Beta had as much development as The Governor he would probably be ranked as better, but he's likely to die next episode
@@itz_executor_8637 well I really hope he doesn't die, maybe they pull off a negan and let him live or he runs away, tho the likelihood of him dying is pretty high :(
Negan is #1 for me but Beta comes in at a close second
Honestly beta was wasted all I wanted in the season 10 finale was an 30 second fist fight between Negan and beta like in the comics but then Daryl had to pull up and kill beta but I still think beta was a great villain
Edit: autocorrect changed negan to megan lol
You're right, it felt just like a horror movie. Especially when itd show beta sneaking through the shadows in the background, not even in the main view of the camera. Like when it showed him blow out a candle while the camera focused on the two Alexandrians talking
Carol: ‘’People came in the Prison and killed our friends’’.
Mika: ‘’And I feel sorry for them’’.
Carol: ‘’why?’’
Mika: ‘’Because they probably weren’t like that before’’.
I wish that beta was like a real artist irl I love this song so much
I wish this had more views, he deserves it. I wished Beta out grow his Whisper Identify and went on a Redemption arc. Hell I wished this song was Expanded one with more lyrics. I stopped watching TWD after Rick left but Beta was the one thing I looked for He is truly an intriguing Character.
When I heard this in the episode, the part with knock down that big ole wall really stuck with me, and then I realized that probably was the inspiration to go jump Alexandria
Alpha was a psycho, beta was just a broken man

Letra:
y dije "Adiós", no derramé lágrimas.

The fact that once again... my favourite character died. First Dale, then Hershel, then Simon, now Beta. I swear...if they kill of Negan... I'll be knocking on their door playing eeny meeny miny moe.
I doubt Negan will die though. I think the ending of the show will be the visions we saw earlier on in the show which I hope it is because that would be the perfect ending for TWD. Thats just me though.
Simon was one of your favourite?
@@JoaoHMF Yes.
@@mcsthethreequel9557 Simon and Beta are villains with no redeeming qualities, that's why they had to die like that other blond long hair guy.
Negan had some good qualities like his charisma, and his anti-rape policy, and the fact that he only killed when necessary.
Dale wanted out of the show I read somewhere, so the writers couldn't do anything about that.
My favorites died to :( Dale, abraham and now beta. But if negan dies i won't care. He deserves to die. He killed Abraham so im still mad ;/
About Dale it's sad cause the actor regretted of asking to get out of the show a couple of days later, but they couldn't do anything else because everything was already scripted.
He had such a golden voice and is now stripped away from violence and the utter silence the whispers are tied to
This seems like a calm and reasonable song.
Anyone notice that even though we seen Betas face it always shows the left side of it, the cover of this album, the poster he sees, the exposed side of his face Gamma (Mary) rips off, the right side of his face is always covered
Dominic Spence your onto something there for sure
One of Beta's albums appeared on fear and most of his face is visible but there's still a slight shadow on the right side of his face

@Ethan Hebert I know, just joking, but some lyrics about killing for her.
Negan would be the devil
@@lG1LGAM35H you could say beta is the devil because after his wife and kid were killed by his own fan he went bad after that
@Negan’s Protégé yes they did the actor made up this story. It's on a podcast. Hence why it says about his wife in the sing
Conner Anstiss what corner of the world did you get that ridiculous story from ??
I'm glad the show still made him a celebrity but made him a musician instead of a basketball player.
Who’s here after beta’s death I wish he survived past the whisper war like the comics and really wanted an actual negan vs beta fight loved his character
i would’ve liked him to still be alive in s11 and team up with the Reapers and teach them the whisperer ways and then maybe take a huge horde to Alexandria or even the Commonwealth (?)
“I went to the well and the rim was dry, where did she go that girl of mine”
Beta lost Alpha and found her head on a pike.
“Looked for her and looked inside, saw the life of mine that I’d like to hide”
Alpha turned Beta into who he was post-apocalypse.
“So I took my axe and cut down that tree, where we had once begun”
Beta accepts that the man who he was pre-apocalypse is not who he is anymore. This is also represented when a whisperer recognizes who he is and Beta kills him for it.
“And I swore to God from that day forth I’d never hold a gun”
Beta never once used a gun in the show at all.
“Cause if I did they’d lock me up and I would surely run”
Maybe Alpha and the Whisperers would kill him or hunt him down for using a gun and going against the Whisperer code. It could also refer to how the protagonists would lock him up for killing and hunt him down if he escaped them.
“Killed so many in your name girl, that I’d never see the sun”
Beta killed for Alpha.
“Was invited down to hell drank from his glass it felt just fine, I asked him where’s that girl of mine”
Could either refer to Negan showing up and “joining” the Whisperers or could refer to how Beta now doesn’t feel a thing when he kills someone.
“The devil just smiled and left me behind, I smiled back and finished my beer and said adios I didn’t shed any tears”
Negan killed Alpha and thus his mission was complete and he left the Whisperers. Could also show that Beta never wants to see Negan again for what he’s done. Beta never did shed any tears despite the pain he was feeling.
“I tried to stand strong but courted death all along. I tried to stand tall and knock down that big ol’ wall.”
Refers to Beta’s final moments. When he sees Negan, he rushes through a bunch of walkers to try to take him out and reign supreme over him or in this case “stand tall”. But of course he failed and wound up getting eaten alive by the very hordes that kept him safe all those years.
Man, I don’t even like country music, but this song was very good.👌
Imagine you just finally kill this giant dude, and you take off your mask and here he’s actually Tim McGraw
Honestly with they kept him alive. Should’ve went into hiding at the end of the war with The Whisperers. Would’ve loved to have seen an episode dedicated to his backstory like Here’s Negan.
actors who played jerry and luke wrote this song btw
Who's listening more than once time?
me too
I don't know if I'm just stupid for not noticing before, but i noticed something about this song. It's about a man who was literally sent to kill on behalf of the devil himself in order to be reunited with his lost loved one, only for the devil to betray him and banish him to hell
Nobody who sings that beautifully would wear human faces
Cant wait for tonight episode. Beta is amazing bad guy.
It's pretty good. I hate the last episode was postponed
Just saw Beta's fate in the season finale (Could've been better). He stood tall and knocked down that big old wall. He stood strong and courted death all along.
But you cant disagree that pulling the knives out was badass
@@mmttm04 Can't deny it, even though that happened in Beta's head. My reasons for saying "could've been better" were:
- No big fight with Beta vs Negan nor Beta vs Negan and Daryl.
- Not much of an impact when Beta was recognized as a country singer.
Those could've been nods to the comics, but still wanted more from that season finale, especially after waiting 7 months.
