- Militarily speaking, India has sufficient strength to protect itself, but poor roads, tunnels, rail, air and communication infrastructure put its troops at a severe disadvantage. China, on the other hand is far ahead on all fronts. Harsh conditions are the main enemy of Indian soldiers. Doklam was a wake-up call for India to get it's military infrastructure act together. the current conflicts with china near sikkim and ladakh started because of this very reason. India started improving infrastructure on it's side of border for faster movement of troops fastly after modi came into power and it is kinda evens the tactical advantage that china had until now
Not exactly. Its an old strategy of the CCP as the situation in China is volatile due the Wuhan Virus, HK protest, slow economic and increasing joblessness. So, they want to divert the attention elsewhere. Similarly, China poking many countries in south china sea. They did it during the great famine in 1962.

Theu have built 58000 km length of roads on Arunachal Pradesh border , they have roads within one km radius from the LAC , our roads start from 60 to 70 km from the LAC , our soldiers patrol on foot meanwhile they use vehicles to patrol because of the roads. Even now they are building a road near one of our military posts . They just don't want India to build roads, they want to have that infrastructure advantage over India

Modi came into power in 2014 , fast forward an year and india is exporting bullet proof jackets to more than 16 countries . The army was completely neglected under congress. Here , we are talking about the army and as usual you dumbass commenting about what's happening inside india because your ultimate resolute is to somehow convert it into me being bhakt. Our politicians and local politicians or leaders are just doing nothing to develop infrastructure, roads, network etc in this region.
The region has changed nothing when compared to 1962 indo-chinese war.
Actually in that war, our soldiers had shown utmost bravery without giving up. Even without proper road tracks, tanks, ammunition, infrastructure.but their courage and sacrifices went in vain.
Significant development hasn't been done till now.

If it uses most of it for military purposes like Russia did in Cold War then it's citizens will be poor just like in Russia. You missed many points.
1.The Tibetan side is not as challenging as Indian side, we have steep Himalayas whereas Tibet is a plateau.
2. The huge tunneling of Himalayas can have catastrophic results! Moreover, any communication via road or Air is impossible during heavy snowfall, due to very slippery roads.
3. Frequent Earthquakes and landslides poses a significant problem.
4. China's only major challenge is India, so they developed the area way easily. We have to ensure issues from Pakistan and China, both of whom have significant firepower.
5. Low scale tension may last. But there isn't ant real possibility of war considering to volume of trade between China and India.
Whole indian will have to work hard sincerely. We are miles away in progress than China. Countries that have nationalist people with strong character and have worked hard have progressed. It is really depressing to note we are lacking in infrastructure development and communication problems near border.you have highlighted these problems. Corrective actions should be taken to protect our borders and our armies.
Its our duty to choose only the educated leaders not some randomly people because this leader will lead us toward bright future.

India has broader strip of Himalayas as compared to China along borders. We cannot compare the facilities with China, they have advantage of good terrain near border. Also, it's not good to have so much infrastructure in Himalayas. The nature always reply back, Kedarnath is the best example.

Strategically speaking I think India should concentrate more on aircraft carrier group and amphibious warfare where they can land troops on beach and parachute special forces inside enemy territory. Fighting in such terrain is a loose loose scenario. Most of the Chinese infrastructures are in the Eastern side so it will hurt them most if we hit them there, instead of Tibet where it's mostly mountains.
P.S. I don't think there will be any war between China and India and I think in a long run China is much suitable country to control terrorism and religious extremism ( than USA) which is the biggest threat world will face in the coming years.

Everyone is to blame for this. This video is such an eye opener but the condition has remained the same since 2005. Some of Bengali, Nagaland friends tell me scary stories of the border issues. Indian government and politics is so horrible that we will learn the lesson the hard way.. We already lost one war to the Chinese and another one is almost there.. I would say the last 15-20 years we should have focused our efforts in these regions but we are way behind.!! I have seen on google maps the entire distance of Arunachal border, there are some places where the chinese villages/towns are much more developed close to border than ours..

It's not important to defeat your enemy but to force your enemy to accept ceasefire, in simple words we don't need to defeat them but to force them accept ceasefire. Moreover we don't need to defeat them in every battle to win the war but to wage a war of nutrition just like Vietnam did during US-Vietnam war or what France and Britain did in First world war.

This is why India should just hand the US the task of building those roads. We can probably have those suckers done in 1-2 years at most. In Afghanistan we built similar roads in that same amount of time. An if we are using Indians help build it, with US mechanical skill, i bet we can build that in less time.
Border infrastructure is underdeveloped because it gives you strategic advantage in such a huge border. Talk to any army person and they will tell you. In a time of conflict if there is severe escalation,india can use the Chinese roads to its advantage and get into enemy territory but the Chinese will have a hard time entering Indian areas. Roads are only built where the army thinks it will give it an advantage. Underdeveloped borders sometimes are safest borders.
I just can't understand why countries behave like kindergarten kids....it's better to cooperate and succeed than fight.

Did you know that building any road or infrastructure in Himalayas where peaks rise to 20,000 feet and drop to 10,000 feet continuously for 200 miles is five times harder than on Chinese Tibetan plateau which roughly flat and is only 4-5,000 feet high. I know, I am from that area.
But in any case, roads have been built and these are reaching the far corners of the border. These may not be four lanes highways but adequate for troop movement. The slow growth in road building has been a trick which naive Rajiv Gandhi accepted in eighties at Chinese suggestion that we both not build anything new to anger the other. In other words if Chinese have built, they are free to retain but india as a gentlemen will not build. This policy for 15 years hampered all construction activities in the border region. This understanding was dumped after Vajpayee came to power and reviewed border defence.
All thanks to hindi chini Bhai Bhai khangress who after severe loss in 1962 doesn't try to make good infrastructure as this may anger China ,,but now modi govt is doing good that is why we are facing frequent face off

2020 and the infrastructure is still stuck in the 80s. Mera bharat mahan, absolute disgrace even now when I fly to india none of the regional airports have night landing facilities for private jets/military jets on civilian/defence strips.

It's easy to comment here that government should spend more on army and weapons. When the government does it the same people start pandering 'Govt should spend on education! Oh the poor! Weapons are not what we need, food is what we need!'
And let's face it just like roads Congress did jackshit about poor. Neither they gave cylinders nor bank accounts. Modi emphasised on infrastructure in NE from day 1. Before the 2019 elections he went to bogibeel bridge in NE which had been pending since 30 years. So kudos to him for having right priorities. Plus he has decentralized military operations giving field officers much greater operational control.
