There is a maintenance document of Moskva dated two weeks before start of war floating on the internet. Reading it gives a sad story of an extremally poorly maintained ship.
In the three layered anti air defence system, first layer was not at all working, in second layer, only one gun out of 6 was working, and to keep that operational they used to take parts of the other guns. The S300 defence system was working but its radar had interference issue with the ships communication system thus had to be turned off regularly.
The ships engines was past its expiry date by 10000hours, which is crazy. Ships generator randomly worked. The ships sensors were all not at all working and ships damage control sytem was unusable due to this as no one had any idea what was going on due to lack of sensors. The ship also had steering problem, and several other issues.
And many of the safety equipment was locked in a room due to constant theft problem. Only the commander had key to this room if anyone wanted to even try to save the ship/
So it seems crew gave up on the ship as soon as it got hit, without even trying to save the ship. Overall, the ship was basically doomed from the start itself. Ukraine saw the vulnerability and took it.
I think corruption is the biggest problem for Russia. Putin maybe thinking he has these many ships and equipment, but theft and corruption has made all their systems hollow from inside.
I love this video and how it accurately covers what happened. Russia's attempts to explain away the obvious embarrassment only proves what a bunch of liars they are.

Russia really needs to train its crew..for eg the fact that the moskava had 3 self defence mechanisms but only 1 was working….and only 1 gun…the Russian commander bought this doom upon him

As usual with Russian military equipment, everything is pure threat and no substance. This thing was in fact about as capable as the Russian's mighty Aircraft carrier. Their ONE aircraft carrier. Built in the Ukraine. So poorly maintained, so empty of anything that could be sold, with a mighty fighter compliment of 8 planes. Several radars used for the targeting of the surface to air missiles interfered seriously with the communications on board--so it was turned off. The radars that were working had been proven in tests and exercises to actually detect about 2 in 6 targets. I'd go on, but the list would fill this page. Keep in mind, this is the FLAGSHIP.
Should add that of the 500 fire extinguishers on board, 50 were actually on the ship. NOTHING has changed since the 2nd battle of Tsushima; the Russian Navy is still a pathetic joke.

I think it was Salvo. It's possible that Moskva destroyed most of the missiles but 2 lucky hits (ammunition depot and fuel tank) has made the ship sank. Lucky hit but hit nonetheless

Yeah yeah it just sank by itself because it was all rusty and due to the storm ;-) This sounds like a typical russian propaganda. In fact, the Ukrainian army used a combination of the two Ukrainian-made missiles Neptun, a Turkish made drone Bairaktar, great intelligence and a brilliant planning. This is what sank Moskva. Since then no russian ships can be seen close to Ukrainian waters. Odesa and Mykolaiv are safe now.
