@@mcgurrentertainment turned out really great, I found it easier to actually leave the rotors in place but covered with a trash bag, and the wheel wells/side of car with a plastic drop cloth from Lowes (like 3 bucks for a 9-12ft) the down side is that I couldn't get the entire back side of the calipers painted, but you cant see that side when the wheels are on anyway so I didn't mind and nobody will ever know lol
Hey bud just wanted drop off a comment about thanking you for clearly showing where the caliper and bracket bolts are and what size they are and even how much torque to tighten them
Thank you for another detailed video man you are doing excellent job on these videos. My question why did you choose the paint you used vs g2 caliper paints. Is it because those needs clear coat after the paint? Please update us how the paint will hold in couple months.
Thank you very much for the support. There is nothing wrong (based on my research) with G2; it seems to be high quality and has self-leveling properties. I wanted to try a spray paint for this job instead of brushing, due to the large surface areas and hard-to-get places. With that being said, I was thinking of trying G2 on my Mustang (blue with white stripes), just to see how it will turn out. Also, good call on the update reminder. I will set a reminder to take photos in a few months and post them. That's a great idea!!! Thank you.
Thank you. Currently, I do not have a video that shows how to repair wheels, instead only the full paint job. However, I'll see what I can come up with. Good idea!!! 👍
This is true, the service manual does say to discard the bolts. However this decision was omitted based the car/bolts still being new (Plus, the consulting engineer concurred). Good note!!!
Really?! Ive NEVER swapped nee bolts out for the calipers in my life. I DID replace the majority of bolts when recently doing my Ford FLEX twin turbo timing chain tho?
@@nicholaskoenig3106 just ford specifications and the bolts were maybe $4 bucks so just swapped em out when I upgraded my Ecoboost brakes to gt brakes.
White would look really cool. I decided to order the custom color package (kona blue) to match the car; I'm a huge fan of blue 😁. I definitely plan on producing that video once the paint arrives. I think showing both methods (brush-on and rattle can) would benefit the community.
@@mcgurrentertainment I'm having a heck of a time finding wheels I like. I just bought my '22 mustang GT and the dealership swapped out black rims for black and chrome. I know I want all black and would prefer a chunky 5 spoke like you have... I'll keep searching. Do you have any videos explaining how to come up with wheel size and compatibility? I feel like I need a bachelor's degree in tire-ology to switch and stagger mine!
Lol. I know the feeling. I dont have a video about wheel packages. However, I did find a link from LMR, displaying the possible tire fitment combos. lmr.com/products/s550-mustang-wheel-and-tire-fitment-guide
No issues. I posted the 6 month update pictures (In the description). ERA's 2k Paint is similar to G2; meaning, it mixes a hardener in the paint before use. Acting as an epoxy. So far, so good. Good questions.
@@mcgurrentertainment awesome I have VHT and was debating if I should use a primer before applying base coat not to sure about clear coat because I won’t be applying decals.
This would be a good time to change your brake pads while you're in there. Pads are usually pretty cheap, and you can even upgrade your pads if you want to.
True. We decided not to replace the brake pads due to the car still being new and low mileage. Plus, when we inspected the pads, they still appeared to be "like new" condition. Any other time, I agree; you might as well replace them while you're in there. Great recommendation.
Some do. It's based on preference. Quite a few individuals followed this process without removing the calipers, and it turned out looking good. It's all up to you.
great video man, just finished painting my gt's red 👍🏻
That's awesome!!! How did it turn out?

Best video I've seen. Very thorough! Keep up the good work. 🤙🏽
Thank you!!!!
That looks SO good!
Thank you!!!! I'm looking into a Brush-on paint for the Kona Blue Mustang.
Very good and detailed vid! This kind of vids reminds me alot of Chrisfix, hehe :D
Thank you very much. That's a huge compliment, ChrisFix does awesome work.
Thank you so much for the detailed description
I'm glad you liked it. 😀
Beautiful!

Awesome video. Do you have a video which shows how to do touch-up paint over curb-rashed rims. If no, is that a topic you would like to cover?

@@mcgurrentertainment thank you so much. that will extremely helpful.
Very thorough man! Excellent work, why didn’t you use the Brembo sticker kit and clear coat them?
Thank you very much. Brembo sticker would have been cool, she is thinking about getting a custom pumpkin logo for the brakes.
Those aren’t Brembo’s…
Decent 10 footer, few thin spots in the nooks and crannies on the front, other than that looks great
Thanks
Did i miss the company for the paint? Was looking for orange my self.

Pretty good, only note is the caliper mounting bolts are one time use torque to yield bolts so always change them out, never reuse them.

Really?! Ive NEVER swapped nee bolts out for the calipers in my life. I DID replace the majority of bolts when recently doing my Ford FLEX twin turbo timing chain tho?
I thought it was odd that these bolts were supposed to be replaced; it seems a little overkill. Maybe Ford doesn't want to take chances on brakes...?
@@nicholaskoenig3106 just ford specifications and the bolts were maybe $4 bucks so just swapped em out when I upgraded my Ecoboost brakes to gt brakes.
Sounds about right.
Awesome detailed breakdown! Would the process be the same for Brembos on a PP1?
I'm sure it's a very similar process as long as you do the proper prep work.
@@mcgurrentertainment awesome, thank you. I'd love to paint mine but I've been nervous to take them off myself, this gave me some encouragement!
I just ordered G2 caliper paint yesterday. I'm going to paint my Mustang (the blue one), without taking off the calipers.

I want to know what wheels those are so I can put them on my Twister Orange 21 GT.
Those are 19"x 8.5” Ebony Black-Painted Aluminum Wheels (ALY10158U45), included in the Black Accent Package.

Hey boss how are your calipers holding up without the primer & clear coat?
Any chipping, cracking, fading??

Typically, VHT paint does require a primer, it will likely be high-temp primer and paint.

Great, thorough video. You really explained every step well. But for Christ's sake, it's CALIPER... not caliber.

They look like Brembo brakes
Agreed
Do people really remove the whole brake? Don't people just painters tape around and then spray them without removing anything

@@mcgurrentertainment thank you cause I'm not that great at cars and didn't want to get too involved like taking brakes off
That is perfectly understandable. As long as you do good prep work (bagging and taping), then you should be fine.
