- We are going over the steps to replace OEM Steering Wheel to a beautiful aftermarket version for a 2021 Mustang GT.

I believe what you referred to as a "Backing Plate" is used to dampen vibrations in the steering wheel. Nice tutorial overall to help others if they want to do something like this!

Hello - My mustang Mach 1 2023 has a M10 bolt and not 24 mm. Do you think I can remove and use a 24 mm bolt when I swap the steering wheel? I got my custom wheel from beith performance. Appreciate your feedback
The bolt should be an M10 bolt with a 24mm socket head.
