Installing a 350 Watt motor into the Razor e300

- We took the stock scooter, installed another battery and overvolted the motor to 36v! We changed the gearing to a 65 tooth rear sprocket and blew up the motor climbing monster hills.
Today we swap out the stock (burnt up) 250 watt motor for a bigger and stronger 350 way motor.
Let’s see how she goes!
Thanks for sharing and making this video! I hope you do a update on this soon.I’m setting up one now so I’m looking forward to see your review of your set up.I’m hoping to do the mods you have done.so thanks for sharing
Helmet and two hands on the handle really helps
Thank you for the video! Might want to put the 80 tooth rear sprocket and a 9 tooth front sprocket on it for hills. I have two 36v e300’s with this set up. Believe it or not I didn’t loose but a couple miles an hour. Way better on the hills and my motors stay cooler. Sprockets are direct bolt ones, just have to notch the rear deck support to clear chain and add length to the chain.
I had the wires cross..but thanks!
*COOL* *I Hav a project then* *THANK YOU FOR THE INSTRUCTION VIDEO* *CATER*
Did you ever install the 24v 500w motor?
@26:48 Are your lead acid batteries "10 amps" (current output), or "10 amp-hours" (energy storage) ?
Are there any just effective bolt on upgrades?
Okay so... How did you flip the batteries down and manage to put the foot plate back down???
Buddy u got good grip on that test ride I thought u might fall. Good video I'm new subscriber cheers
I know it is kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good site to watch newly released movies online ?
@Rafael Landen i use flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Connor Rohan Definitely, I've been using Flixzone for since april myself :D
@Connor Rohan Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it !!
@Rafael Landen Happy to help =)
I just got the same one from Amazon a couple of days ago. Runs well but pales in comparison to our other 500w E300.
Thx. I ordered a 500w and am curious as to how it’s going to perform

@@NortheastVintage Did you install that motor? Was it a direct fit or did it need some modding to get it to fit?
Does the 500W fit or you have to modify the framing? Also what advantages do you have with 24V vs 26V on 350W or 500W? I don't have hills but want higher speed while some torque. So im thinking about a 44 teeth or 47 teeth rear sprocket.
The 500 watt motor is a monster. I had to weld the motor to the frame to make it fit. But it’s got monster torque
Hi, amazing video and the scooter looked fast. What speed controller are U using for this and what Rear sprocket will U B using?
Search "overvoltedscooters" on ebay they sell both the speed control and a 65 tooth sprocket for better hill climbing.
a go pro ona head moment dangerously ridden with a selfie stick
What it should have came with from the Factory
Totally agree!
I have a stock e300. what would you recommend if I'm OK with the top speed, but want more torque and a longer ride?
No need to overvolt if you’re happy with the top speed. I’d go bigger 36v motor.
Can you do this with the e90?
I'm surprised these razor scooters did well in America they are so slow when stock . I've just picked a e300 up and put 2 new batteries in , and now I'm looking up how to make it go faster for a 9 year old lol
Razor scooters are perfect for upgrades as they’re simple and veeery cheap
Kudos! Where did you source the replacement motor?
looks like amazon from the box
what motor did you use
You broke the sound barrier at 29:27 lol
Using your setup of 350W, whats the advantage of 36 volts. Im looking for speed and range. (44/47 teeth) on 350W.
More watts, more power. For speed and torque. Distance is all battery capacity. Go lithium ion
Done
hi i see in video that you have not got circuit breaker fitted did you just connect wires together or use something else
Correct. I deleted the circuit breaker. No problems so far but I should install one. Especially since I’m now using lithium batteries
I did something similar with my e300 scooter same speed control and motor, however it's worth noting I switched from lead acid to a 36v Li-ion 20ah battery that fits fully under the top shell and I have yet to use all the capacity.

Ok..cool..
Where did you purchase your lithium battery from?
Do you think dumping 36 V thru a 1,000 W motor controller into a 24 V-, 250 W-rated motor had anything to do with the old motor burning up?
I'd venture a guess that using the same significant over-voltage and over-curernt into 24 V-, 350 W-rated motor is going to give up it's smoke just like the last one did.
👍
It’s because the chain is so tight
Link for the motor?
That's same engine what i did 350..stock was 250 2new batteries. New on off switch. All wires new . My scooter goes 15mph
Also the razor moped. Controller
Try going with hoverboard batteries, and an overvolted controller with a 500w 24v motor.
@@NortheastVintage did you fit hoverboard batteries to yours ? Also If you get a 24v 350w or 24v 500w motor do u have to change the stock controller
@@CM-1723 The controller voltage must match battery voltage set up, 36V battery set up to 24V controller will burn it. And wattage on the controller must not be higher than rated amp on the motor. The wattage on motor is just NOMINAL number the real number is the amp it can handle. For ex; 24V 350W 19A max motor, you can use upto 36V 450W controller. 24V 500W 28A max motor, you can use upto 36V 672W controller. you can overvolt but the controller watt can not be higher than what the motor can handle. But in overall try to always match the voltage and wattage of battery system, controller and motor for long lasting safe run of system.
@@charlieson3394 Yes it´s good idea to match voltages, 24v bat, controller and motor, but you should never use a controller with less power than the motor can draw, so for a 350w motor you will need a 350w or higher (500w) controller
Hi I have an E 300. Would I get any benefit out of keeping it 24-volt but upgrading to 350 watt motor?
there's a hack with soldering another shunt to the board, works well, gets the torque up enough to be almost OK for an adult
Yes, but you also want to upgrade the controller and the batteries for longer run time and more speed.
@@bobsoft thank you
Hi Matt i changed my controller and batteries on my razor echo smart. But the chain spins and not the tire..What i do wrong?I have a video on it..plz help!
Sounds like the one way clutch on the wheel hub is broken or on backwards?
if i install 2000w 48v motor, which battery can i use? 48v 20Ah 1000w?
your battery needs to be 2000w just like your motor
I plan on running the 3 hooverboard 36v batteries on the stock 250W motor until it smokes with the plan to upgrade it to the 350W. With that being said what controller should i order?
Get a 36v controller off eBay. I don’t think the stock controller will work with 36v. I’ve since gone to 52v lithium ion batteries!
@@NortheastVintage Can you post a link for the 52v batteries you went with? Those would still be compatible with a 36v controller?
@NortheastVintage please could you do an update video of your scooter. I would love to know what your setup is now 😊xx
Hi Matthew, Thanks for the informative vidio on installing a 350w motor on your razor. I am doing the same thing on my old e325, my problem is, the 4 motor mounting screws dont exactly line up, I was able to get 3 in. I may try to find tapered mounting screws, or, I could drill out the hole on the motor, and still have the lower threads on the frame. Is there a better fix ? Thank you, Chip C , can I give my email ?
To be honest, I just welded the motor to the frame as I don’t expand upgrading the motor from the 500W motor I currently have

Can you put a link to the motor in the comments?

I actually like the narration of figuring out how to do it. He runs into several issues that people may accidentally do by mistake and figures out how to correct them.
