What fantastic view of Wasdale looking across to Black Sail Pass, a perfect Lakeland view. Love the little church in Wasdale, thanks for including it in the video.

Excellent video. Reliving the race 🙂 I loved this leg, just about getting dark when I ran into the great checkpoint at Wasdale and then into the inkiest blackness up and over Black Sail pass. Race nerves had settled and was getting into my stride. Brilliant work. Nice touch with the church footage too 👍

Climbing up black sail out of wasdale and looking back seeing a stream of headtorches through the valley is amazing! It's an awesome event, but that was a highlight for me.

Still very much enjoying your videos John. I know your directions on these are guided by the official waypoints, but do you ever use electronics for navigation? Sending routes to my Garmin Fenix has been a game changer 🗻

Hi Simon glad you’re enjoying the videos mate. No I haven’t tried that, I don’t have a Fenix. I use the OS app on my phone with pre loaded maps so pretty much the same thing. Additionally I know the area pretty well so when I’m doing a map study I can picture the route in my head. However, there’ll be later sections in this Lakeland series that I haven’t seen before.
