Is it just me or is that little PS5 screen gonna help massasivly in co-op games or team shooters. If you got your teammate's view in the top left you'll be able to coordinate attacks alot better. If there isn't tomuch lag between your game and what you are shown from your buddy's screen co-op could be very much boosted as you can clearly see what is giving your buddy troubles, see exactly where they are and how to flank them.
It could definitely help in a Battle Royale or a competitive shooter. I wonder if it'll be disabled for some games?

If it's like this Steam broadcast feature, no one is going to use it. People don't generally like to have their gameplay recorded unless they are streaming / making a RUclips video.

Ps5 new UI is a huge upgrade to the PS4 UI. Xbox series X Is a continued version of the Xbox one version which has been improved on over and over again throughout the current generation.

Being able to change the wallpaper and colors for the UI on Xbox and switching between games with Quick Resume makes the the Xbox UI much more personal, and smooth.

Xbox Series X UI is far better and more simple
The Xbox UI has always looked great, but it’s always felt relatively cluttered. I like the ps5 UI more because it just feels looks to be “cleaner”. Also, system music is an absolute MUST as far as I’m concerned. Since the Wii in 2006, I absolutely cannot live without music playing on my consoles interface.

Should have showed the new Xbox Store since it got a big update. It’s faster load times on One is amazing and with the new design and layout makes navigating so fast and smooth.

This is the first generation I will own both consoles, they are both fine machines
This is the first generation there's not a reason to own both. Unless you wanna drop 500 to play one or two exclusives. Playstation is doing the backtracking microsoft did with the xbox one last generation. Sony is inferior this time around. The only reason to own a ps on release is demon souls. The fact that sony fanboys are bragging about 4k ui is very sad ui might very well be the only category sony has a one up on microsoft.

@@loadedwahlter3130 PlayStation has the exclusives though, everything on SX is going to be on PC. So as long as you have a PS5 and a PC you're set. Your argument completely falls apart.
Not to mention all of the tricks they're doing with the DualSense, the 3D audio, the SSD which is quicker than the SX by double, etc. PS5 this time around feels truly innovative even in it's design, it feels like the next step.

Personally I don't see anything for either I want to play day one.. cept for demon souls. A game thats updated but already played and already beat on previous gens. Based on the videos that I have seen thus far, I think Sony has done a phenomenal job in delivering next gen experience.
Console: Futuristic look though huge, SSD, addressing over heating and fan noise issues
UI: simple, clean, integrated PS store, picture in picture feature, game resume, party chat, voice dictation etc.
Controller: Redesigned controller with Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Trigger, integrated mike
Headphones: Tempest 3D Audio with cool design
Charging Station: Goes well with other accessories
Camera: HD camera that goes well with other accessories
Games: Good games at the launch and many more to come in the next few months like Demon's Souls, Spider Man Miles Morales, Godfall etc.

In defense of Glass, the Xbox doesn’t really need to change for change sake. Honestly PS doesn’t need to change for change sake.
My issue with this whole UI conversation is that people who praise what either company does gets ripped on. Both companies took radically different approaches to get to this point.
Microsoft worked on their UI over the course of the last several years. It went a Windows 8 look to its modern iteration. Feels nice and smooth. I get all the same basic information for a game I get on my PS4 without having to scroll through other sub menus.
Sony hasn’t. They didn’t with PS3 and PS4. They take a different approach to UI redesign. They make slight changes, but not overhauls.
Let’s also look at what each company is attempting to accomplish. Sony is doing what Nintendo does. Make console + sell games = profit. Perfectly reasonable and sensible. Microsoft in a sense is doing too much, but in a good way. They aim to make their gaming ecosystem much more expansive by including PC and offering cloud based gaming that is worthwhile. This is a plus for fans of either side because it creates a new standard and causes both to improve.
Objectively speaking we can all agree that Microsoft has improved the Xbox One since it’s announcement because they needed to in order to compete. Why can’t we celebrate that gaming is in a good place in some respects? I don’t know.
Not sure if Kevin has mention in this great comparison video though but the PS5's UI is confirmed to be native 4K HDR while the XBSX is 1080P without HDR. You can tell the different in resolution between the two from this video as well.
@Mateo Myrte nooooo, it LITERALLY means one is displayed at 4K HDR and the other is displayed at 1080p without HDR.
@Mateo Myrte Its 2020, MS is advertising the Xbox Series X as a 4K console and a powerful one at that and it couldn't even run its UI at 4K meanwhile its competitor which has weaker horsepower in its console can do 4K HDR for its UI. I mean surely they will fix it with an update after launch but is not a good look for MS.

I'd be willing to bet there's more than meets the eye from the PS5 UI. The control center had customizing options if you pressed the touch button. It showed on the bottom right when it was opened.

The PS5 UI is really beautiful, but it looks kinda confusing to me, like everything is mixed up. Maybe that's because I haven't used it before.

As an Xbox 360 and Xbox One user, I have to say that the Ps5 Ui Looks super clean. I also love all of the features that they added to it, the idea of screen sharing which is something I've wanted for a while! with the new Xbox one series x Interface to me it just seems like an upgraded Xbox one UI. which is basically meaning it doesn't look like they changed nearly anything except give more customization options. I think it would have been nice for them to make the Xbox series x UI look different. like THIS is the new age Xbox. small changes of maybe changing the shape of apps (Smooth Corners and edges) Make the hud that you pull out from the side look cleaner. The Xbox hud to me always did feel a little clustered, I would like a UI that feels organized. like they made an update just to update the Microsoft store that made it look like something you find on a new age console, so why not change the UI to give it that New Age Console feel? I'm aware that the Xbox UI is not yet fully done. but to me right now, it doesn't seem like they changed too much. I still love my Xbox and I always will. I've never owned a ps4 but I still love and respect sony. I just only hope they make the New Age Xbox Console Feel... New...

I was interested in the Xbox Series X, but it seems like Microsoft is just trying to sell me a more powerful Xbox One - same UI, same games, same controller, same experience. The PS5 actually looks like it will be "next-gen" as so many aspects of it were completely redesigned.

I can see that. Both have everything at your fingertips which is nice and while PS5 has the PNP function, I’m not sure it’s going to be the game changer some making it out to be. Xbox had a similar function with its snap mechanic, but it died for whatever reason.
All I can say is both consoles seem poised to do very well.

i never understood why they don’t just have the games you have the most hours on being your first games on the home screen
because that's a pretty stupid idea if you think about it. for example, personally, I don't play a certain game for hours and hours. I leave the game when I beat it. so, with my use case, it'll be incredibly flawed and annoying if I have persona 5 as the first game on the list forever because I played it for 125 hours. I want the last game I played first in the list since it is the game ill be beating next, I don't wanna go through 20 games to reach the one ill be playing constantly this month. I can give you tons of examples of why that won't work.

I prefer ps5's ui. It just looks much more clean and organized. Xbox's ui is so messy. Is looks just like what my minecraft chests looks like inside.

There can be 2 right ways to go about achieving a particular goal and I like what both companies have done with their incoming User Interfaces. Both, from the outside looking in, seem to enhance overall user experience. I'm ecstatic to get my hands on both consoles to try them out firsthand

I think I kind of prefer the Series X UI, reminds me of the 360 UI in a way, where you have the different tabs that you navigate going up and down, and then across to the right to get what you want. Plus all the icons are larger and more of the screen real estate is utilized, but that's just my personal preference.

@@blitzultra219 I can kind of see why, I think part of why it works for me is because the content I want to look at is centred, whilst the stuff I'm not as interested in is in my peripherals, so when I boot up the console I instantly focus on the game, and things I may want nearby are just a glance to one side.
It also helps that I've mainly been an Xbox gamer for the past decade, so I'm more used to this style of layout.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the future the watch player function will allow you to jump instantly into a co-op game with that player.
I can also imagine creating your own player challenge cards by recording footage, such as speed running a level or beat a combo in a fighting game.
I think that's why have the UI heavily integrated into a game could prove a wise and interesting move in the future. in many ways it's almost possible to have that type of UI and game to almost speak to each other.
I love how the Xbox seris x ui looks exactly like the Xbox 1 not saying it's bad, but I'm not paying that much money just to get a more powerful reskinned version of the Xbox 1. The Ps5 is just a complete diffrent console the ui is diffrent the console looks different, the controller, that's why I am getting the ps5, and also for the exclusives.
Your getting the ps5 because they changed more, I get the UI the ps5s is definitely nicer but the console looks god awful and is incredibly large and the controller's alright at best

And unlike PlayStation Xbox is always changing adding features updating the ui been over 4 major overhauls since the original launch and j wouldn’t be surprised if they’d make it 4k when the Xbox one is completely obsolete and the Ui is updated again

Both UIs are fine and get the job done, though it's weird that only the PS5 has a 4k HDR UI. The SX UI is going to look slightly soft with upscaling artifacts on my 4k OLED by comparison.
PS5 is just better
@Beastcraft Where did you read that? There's no reason why the UI cant be offloaded to the SSD during gaming. The SSD can load 1GB of compressed data back into memory in 0.1 seconds.
Would you really want HDR on a UI, especially using OLED tv. Given that OLED tvs can burn in, and throughout the PS5 lifespan the UI is going to be on the screen a lot, that would be a concern for me. I’m still getting a PS5 (along with a SX), but still a worry.
@@simonleeds3988 HDR isn't a concern, it doesn't have an impact on screen burn. If anything the overall image would look slightly darker with only highlights getting brighter. OLED has trouble with the red pixel burning in, the PS5 UI doesn't have much red in it.

No idea why but one of the most exciting things for me when it comes to next gen consoles is the new UI. So seeing the ps5 UI being fairly different and unique and the xbox UI being hardly different from the xbox one UI, ps5 has the advantage here in my opinion. Not only does ps5's UI just look new and different but it also has a lot of new features that will be very very useful for a lot of people, I highly doubt any of those features will be available on xbox.
Why does the series x have to look the same as one? When I get a new console I want it to feel like a new experience.
I feel like if they changed everything the people who are converting to the next gen won’t like the change and it would be easier to keep it the same

Why does it have to be diferent? Some people want it to be the same so they don't have to figure out where everything is again. They don't want to have to learn every single feature from square one.

No. Xbox keeps it the same, and there’s no problem in that. Xbox is not focusing on changing their ui look, they are more so focusing on hardware change and upgrade.
If people are familiar with the ui, they wouldn’t want to figure out everything from square one.
Most people would rather have frequent updates and improvements in the ui than changing the ui completely.

Don't really miss it at all. Outside of nostalgia or maybe the perspective of a collector, there is little to no benefit to having physical media over digital, especially on console, where you need to have the disk in the system to play a game.
PS2 and Wii was the best time I've had in gaming. It wouldn't be the same now but it was fun.

PlayStation 5 UI is not cluttered and that’s why I like it more.

On xbox dashboard you can remove a lot of those extra home tabs to make it way less cluttered, I personally did that.
I'm more of an Xbox player but I have to admit the crop down videos to the side of your screen feature is really cool.

I assume that the PS5 has a variant of quick resume since it didn’t tell you that Sackboy will be closed when booting up Destruction Allstars, but I wonder how many games can be switched between at any given time.
I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if they did, but Sony probably would have mentioned it by now? My thinking is that it'll probably save space for quick resuming a single game, but that Sony probably don't want to reserve as much storage space for the feature given their already smaller size. Instead the raw speed of the SSD will make up for much of the lack of multi game quick resume.

If you watch the playstation video again, it went by quick but when they went through the bottom icons one of the tab is called switcher. Playstation already kinda tease it but ign stated talking to insiders their going to be a lot of customization.

I personally like the PS5's UI more.
I'm used to it and it leaves more space for a nice background theme.
Both have done a great job tho it all boils down to what tickles your fancy
I'm getting both, and I do like the PS5 UI better as it feels more like a console and takes you to what you need without messing about, While on the Xbox it feels more like windows where you mess about with the menus displaying what you want and don't want to see, for a console I just want to game, I don't really care about configuring the home screen.
Yup I agree ps5 is better in general aka the real next gen and it’s just better when it comes to the ui it’s so amazing the keyboard sound on the ps5 and the looks when u pull up your friends menu and everything it’s sooo much clean then Xbox ui dashboard and expecially when u get messages or invites to an game the ps5 looks way smoother compared to where on Xbox it pops up on the bottom and messaging on the ps5 feels so much better and smoother and looks way better then messages on the new Xbox
And not only that with the ps5 when your on the Home Screen hovering over an game it will show up as the background which is amazing and on the Xbox it doesn’t do that it still has the standard old gen background and dynamic background while ps5 shows the game in the background which is so clean and it also plays it’s music in the back on the ps5 while Xbox is just a sittin duck both greats console but ps5 is for the win and they completely outsold Xbox series x/s both of them but Xbox has recently got Japan but who cares because PlayStation5 still has a few more millions units sold then the Xbox series x/s

Xbox One (since 2013) has got at least 3-4 completely different UIs (Store etc), Microsoft changes them pretty much every few years. People say "the same" about the current interface, but it was available before the X / S series was released and it is automatically old! It's still a new--ish (custmizable icons etc), which just came out earlier but yes, it feels similari--sh, just like the UI of the PS5 compared to the PS4.

It looks like Sony took the PS4 UI and made it it's base function but it also looks like they took some deeper UI feature with Picture in Picture mode resembling Xbox's Snap feature and a few extra things.

The Series X/S UI is actually what’s currently available for the Xbox One.
I’ve had the update on my One X for just over a week and it’s exactly like what’s shown here, including the customisation.
This is a major plus as you don’t have to learn a whole new UI when moving to Series X/S.
And the whole “issue” of the UI running at 1080p?
Who cares?
As long as the games are running to their full potential it doesn’t matter what resolution the Home screen is.

I think that making it similar to the Xbox One's was made on purpose. Don't forget that the Xbox One AND Series S|X will have the same UI. As a matter of fact, it's already the case for some weeks I believe...

Yeah at first I thought the PS5 UI was better but now with the video Xbox made yesterday I think the Xbox one looks a lot better. First of all they have new themes and I love themes. It also just seems so much cleaner. Idk I just like it lol.

That means it doesn't have a loading screen or load an application. It's just right there

It seems like Sony has also focused on refining the user experience and making the overall experience better aswell Xbox seems to have just created a smaller and faster spec Xbox

I agree. Personally, I like Xbox better because I really like Forza and the controller fits my hand better, but everyone has their own preference

I really like the Xbox UI with it being very customisable. I hated the PS4 UI and showing me crap I didn’t care about half the time.
4:00 I disagree, since this is software related, I would say that Xbox can easily change their UI to do the same thing. And also Xbox have a club feature where user can post guides to each other, so maybe they’ll refine that and make it similar to the PS5.
