    I noticed on Jeep commander , stock suspension the rear end is an inch higher. It looks awkward like the front end is sagging. I like the leveling kit so you can adjust the height even using the rockers as level . It totally charges the stand of the Commander

    • @ExtremeDailyDrivers
      @ExtremeDailyDrivers  2 года назад +5

      In my opinion, there is nothing more awkward than the front being higher than the rear, which basically every leveling kit for the Commander does. With that being said, I have plates that go on top of the front suspension that is supposed to raise the front end a half of an inch. I've had them for months and haven't installed them because I'm still on the fence of whether or not they are worth the hassle of installing if they raise the front higher than the rear. I'll do a video if I ever install them.

    Fun bit of info, KONI is from the Netherlands, and the Jeep Renegade (the one that's manufactured in Italy at least), has KONI shocks, ones that become more stiff in corners, and are more forgiving when offroading. We own a Renegade, apart from the Commander, and got about 120.000KM on the clock of the Rennie without a hassle. KONI all the way!

    • @ExtremeDailyDrivers
      @ExtremeDailyDrivers  3 года назад +1

      Nice! That's great feedback. Thank you. I love them so far. It's cool that they are adjustable, it's just a terrible process for the front struts, but could be useful if I ever decide to get a metal front bumper, which would increase the weight upfront. Thanks for watching!!

    I bought a Commander like two months ago, first thing I did was get some new tires on it, I got 265/65 R17, and I haven't noticed anything wrong/rubbing while driving. I didn't install any lift on it as it seems to sit pretty high already, higher than a new Wrangler.
    Anyway your Commander looks really cool, they look cool even stock, that's why I wanted to buy for a while. I also have a 93 XJ which is an amazing Jeep, have it since 2001 and it never gave me any trouble

    • @ExtremeDailyDrivers
      @ExtremeDailyDrivers  Год назад +1

      20 inch wheels, low profile tires, snorkel and winch don't all go together. I would lose the 20 inch wheels and low profile tires It's a bad idea. That's going to be a lot of rotating mass, which will hurt performance, MPG and probably give you all sorts of steering issues. Good luck and thanks for watching.

      37's aren't going to fit. Why would you want them anyway? They would weigh over a 100 pounds each wheel. You would lose so much power trying to move those things and you mpg would be about 1 HWY 0 CITY. Not to mention that you probably wouldn't be able to stop. Thanks for watching.

    I did not like how my Commander's front end sat lower than the rear. I also did not like how my vehicle rode on rough poorly maintained pavement and washboard dirt and gravel roads. My shocks and struts were changed just a few years ago before I bought it, so I thought how can I make an improvement without major work or costing me an arm and a leg. I then thought about what racers do to smooth out the rides on their cars, so I decided to try adding spring rubbers along with a 1inch rubber block. Mr Gasket made a spring rubber the exact size I needed for my spring gap and I also added the rubber blocks (total cost $60). Now my front end height is within 3/8" of my back end and the best part is my ride on rough roads is like day and night compared to before. No more kidney jarring rides on the washboard roads to my favorite fishing spots. I was only wanting a leveling lift because my Commander is just 2wd and I needed to justify the cost to my wife so that I could continue to make modifications here and there to make my vehicle not look like every other Commander out there. I may add softer spring rubbers to the back springs but the ride is good now just doing the front.
