    Love your videos! I installed the same cold air intake this summer and found that I actually had less power upon acceleration at low speeds around town, but on the highway it was great. At the time the weather here was over 100 degrees daily so it seemed that the factory intake was actually getting more cold air at low speeds than the AFE. I thought about it and determined that the open portion of the AFE box was drawing too much hot air from the engine bay. So I decided to close off the open end of the AFE box with a piece of sheet metal bent to fit and secured with the left 2 screws of the cover. Problem solved, acceleration was much improved. Then I had the idea of making a prefilter inside the box by taking the paper off of the original air-filter and attaching 1mm stainless mesh by using strands of the mesh to attach it to the larger mesh on the remaining filter frame. I set it at the bottom of the box with a little bit of a concave to allow space for the AFE cone filter. This seems to work great at preventing larger debris that get sucked into the air box from the grill snorkel and prematurely clogging my cone filter. It is easy to open the box every few months to clear off this prefilter screen. I feel with this modification that I have made a true cold air filter that will require less maintenance.

      Wow. Very cool. Maybe I'll try closing off that in engine part of the intake too! Thanks for watching and leaving a helpful comment!

    Dude it sounds sick! Like you said, it might just be the tank engine but it still sounds good. I see a good intake as one of those have to mods that compliments the toy without having to drop too much money into it. Good stuff man, now you gotta follow it up with a throaty exhaust!

      @ExtremeDailyDrivers  2 года назад +3

      JC, you must be reading my mind! Exhaust options is another reason I went with aFe!! However, I might have something brewing with a sponsorship for a different mod first, but exhaust is definitely coming!! Thanks for always watching!

    Your beast is hot, if I had your skills I would modify mine, I'm just afraid of taking it to guys outside and they mess up. Mechanics are like Dr's, trial and error till you find a good one and by then they have cut the wrong leg off by mistake. I cannot take that risk so I keep mine stock. Yours is wicked off the hook, love your videos!!!

    ⭐️ I know I'm late af to the show, but I just wanted to comment that I have a stock air intake on my jeep commander and it doesn't have quite as many 'ridges' as your diy tube had, but it definitely has ridges...

    • @ExtremeDailyDrivers
      @ExtremeDailyDrivers  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I've seen them in the stock form. I have no idea where the previous owner got the diy intake from. Get a cold intake. It's worth it. Thanks for watching.
