Thank you sir. From Australia. Appreciate all your effort to put these videos together for us. Just rebuilt my ef8 shift linkage and shifter. Feels perfect
My mind is just blown from watching you John just go threw every step. LHT is Boss. Just wish I lived in Florida lol. You guys are the best so it's worth the drive. Great vid, I'm looking forward to seeing how far George is gonna take his ep3 civic si.
Excellent video. I love the content and have learned alot and learn something new with every video. I hope to be a future customer soon. Keep up the good work
You have the best import videos on RUclips. Thank you for all of the content. This is making me want to get my 95 GSR back in the garage and drivable again.
mattuk180586 Thanks. I’m glad this is inspiring people to get into their cars. The new car are cool but the earlier Honda’s are so good. They are already becoming classics.
Glad a video like this exists.... just did my auto to manual swap thought I just needed to change out the bushings but when I put it in it was super sloppy, lesson learned if anything is second hand just restore it before you install
This video perfectly explains on how to service your shift linkage without needing to replace it with a aftermarket shift linkage joint. The question is how long it takes to wear out again but none the less I will use this tip to adjust my linkage on my own car Thanks for the video.
Thanks John for your amazing attention to detail on this build! Been slacking on this build, so I'm currently binge watching it and loving every second! I'm always for build it right the first time in case I wanna do boost or crank up the boost
I want to say thank you for the effort and your insights on the videos you guys make, their are so many things you point out and cover when it comes to working on cars and I love the fact you actually share your experience with us. You have made a great series of videos and show many car guys and especially Honda fans that the time and effort is absolutely worth it. This is a great example of quality builds and should make people inspired and more mindful of who works on their cars. Thanks so much to all involved at LHTPerfomance and hello from Australia
Steve Jones Thanks Steve. I’m glad you enjoy them. I truly hope the videos inspire people and enjoy their cars and learn how to improve an modify them.
Thank you LHT for the great video! Some additional tips for those in the rust belt- The thrust washers part number 54105-692-010 (he calls them dust boots) were pretty bad on my car, I'll be getting new ones. The hole at the bottom of the shift lever was rusty inside and it makes the new parts a very tight fit unless you take a round file to it and knock down the rust. The small bolts with the locking heads he mentions at 5:40, I had to get some vice grips on the top side to get the nuts off. On a rusty car they just spin.
Love it! 😍 I already ordered mine from honda today and I will be installing them asap. Thank you for this tip I totally overlooked that duh lol! Thank you again for these gems 😊
Hey there John! So I was going to do exactly this to my shifter to tighten it up BUT then I found that you can still buy the OEM shifter rod from honda (bottom one not top one) and so that's what I did! It was cheap too!
I'm glad to see your 2001 GSR is still in generally good running order with 134,000 miles on the odometer. My 94 GSR has 88,295 kilometers on the odometer...
@@LHTPerformance I live in a snowy part of Ontario. The car has never seen winters so it is rust free. It sits indoors on blocks 7 months or more every year. I start it once a week and run it 20 to 30 minutes on the off season. Condensation has taken a toll on the exhaust in spite of this... but not bad as I got 25 years out of the original exhaust.
I've been having a problem with my 94' GSR shifter in that it gets really stiff and hard to shift as the engine/exhaust piping gets hot. Its been very hot here in Nashville and this started happening much more often after getting the car up to interstate speed but then after I slow down off the interstate it seems to back off a bit and once again become normal in its shifting feel. Would this rebuild get me back to normal feel even at higher temps? Seems like my problem might be the worn bushings and o rings drying out.
heat and alot of it. had the same problem. bitch pin had to be drilled thru do to alot of rust, then applied a alot of heat and came right out, was struggling without the heat
How would I go about rebuilding the shift linkage joint that attaches to the transmission. I ordered a hasport shift linkage rebuild kit but I’m not sure on how to separate the joint from the linkage.
Just changed same bushings on my D series Civic. Now can feel a low rumble metal vibration at times that wasn’t there with old bushings. Mostly when car bucks a bit or when starting. Installation error or due to polyurethane on the two mounting points?
@@LHTPerformance I’m thinking I may have overtightened the bolt that goes through the bushing with the o-rings. Would that cause any issues like that if becomes too rigid?
i have a b series swapped crx and i reaplaced the the "bird cage" and the bushings and its still sloppy as hell what else could i do to fix this? I also have a plm shifter which is pretty much a k-tuned knock off
Hello Everybody if you can help me with answering it would be cool, i just put an Hybrid racing short shifter, stiffer gearbox springs, there is no play what ever in the shifting linkeage but my shifter goes left right too much, when i film under the car, the control going intro the gearbox moves so the play is in the gearbox ? Is that possible ? Normal on B series ?
Starting to think u might have OCD. If u didnt know that already. After watching a few of your videos. As a certified internet doctor. I diagnose u with OCD.
I'm in the process of buying new parts to refresh my shift linkage, and I think the little O rings may be part 91303-HAO-004, rather than 92303. Home thats helpful to anyone undergoing this work.

Don’t know if you realise how good this video was. It is awesome. Thank you for uploading such helpful content.
Loving all the extra Integra Rebuild tips. I'm gonna be putting my GSR back together this summer so I love watching all the little detail fixes.

Love the hammer technique on the linkage. Beautiful info sir! Made the linkage I bought for my car so crisp. Thank you!
14:25 the white retainer cage is oriented from factory by the dots on one side. The sides with the dots should be facing towards the ground.

Every Honda I own has gotten an eBay dual bend shifter $10 and Energy Suspension poly bushings. I clean and grease everything. Best $20-$25 upgrade

It looks like Honda has discontinued the thrust washer bushings that I need for my 93 DA (54105-SH3-010). Do you think the ones you used would fit?

Hey on 16:45 is there a name for those square bolts with the washers and hex nuts?
great video, I need to grease the part that links the shift lever with the linkage. That was the one part I forgot to do and didn't realize to grease
Amazing video!
Going to start making dc2 type r videos for maintenance.
We did a whole series on this Integra. It’s in the playlist on our channel.

Imo Honda b series shifters are some of the best even today.
agree, love how my gsr feels, and ive owned an sti and an evo lol
Patrick Macellus Yes. A tightly built B shifter has ruined me for almost everything else.
love this video , so much valuable information. doing this to my linkage. \
John Daen It makes such the difference. You’ll love it.
Hybrid Racing review? 😊 the tips are GOLD for oem/budget. thx
whoa, 180 for the stock knob. I have a mint one that I have sitting on my desk. thought it was worthless lmao
Great stuff, thanks 😎
Just changed same bushings on my D series Civic. Now can feel a low rumble metal vibration at times that wasn’t there with old bushings. Mostly when car bucks a bit or when starting. Installation error or due to polyurethane on the two mounting points?

do you happen to know if the oem pin and bushings fit in the aftermarket short shifters that have the "bearing style" bushings in them?
I couldn’t say. The aftermarket ones often use their own sizes
@@LHTPerformance thats what im afraid of. have all the oem parts already, im sure finding an oem shifter will be near impossible anymore
Great video, what's your favorite grease?
Peter Tran Honda Grease of course 👍🏻
Nice man 👍
LHT awesome video. I've done the polybush s. My Bitch pin does not come out gave up with it lol
Integra Type R comes factory with a Chrome Dual Bend Shifter
is this rebuild possible on D series linkage as from what I know there are definitely some differences?
It’s almost the same process.
Thanks mate!!!!
Honda o-ring part number 92303-HAO-004 or 91303-HAO-004?
I have the same question lmao
first one nice
Can you buy that grease from Honda? I will definitely do this to my GSR!
Yes.
@@LHTPerformance thank you!

Does anyone know where you can buy the linkage all done and new?
What is the part number for the "dust cover" shown at 16:52?

dust seal part numb?
🙏

Said the same after watching just one video.
anybody know where to buy the parts for the shifter for a good deal? Its like $100 for small bushing wtf is that?
I'm in the process of buying new parts to refresh my shift linkage, and I think the little O rings may be part 91303-HAO-004, rather than 92303. Home thats helpful to anyone undergoing this work.
