    The three best things about this video are (1) Ronnie O'Sullivan and another 147, (2) Selby's chicken haircut, and (3) the audio being so out of sync that you hear the shot hit and drop while Ronnie's walking around the table to the next one. Truly fucking epic.

      rocket just moves faster than the sound of the shot dropping, is all.

    Snooker is not an easy sport as such. Building up skills to play it consistently at world class level is not given to many human beings. Making it to a World Cup tournament is not a simple task, not even for those in the position to get there. Reaching the Final of such a tournaments doesn't happen every day, and certainly not to every talented snooker player. Finals that are defined in a deciding frame are not that common. Century breaks are, within this circle of talented players and at this level of the game, a very special achievement and not easy to make. 147s are even tougher, and some of the players at this very level have never got to get not even ONE.. SO, reaching the Semifinal of a World cup of Snooker, and close it down with a 147 in the deciding frame; that has to be at the reach of only specially talented players; and implies a whole bunch of superlatives to go with that person... Now, on top of that, making it look SO easy is just outrageous :)

  • @easttexan2933

    Being from the US (Texas) I don't see Snooker here at all. Having said that, I'm new to watching these matches and I have to say I am hooked. Couple questions for you lads: (1) what is the size of the tables and (2) is O'Sullivan the best there ever has been?

    • @Oldfaithful61
      @Oldfaithful61 7 лет назад +5

      As for size of a snooker table, the playing area within the cushion faces shall measure 11 ft 8½in x 5ft 10in (3569mm x 1778mm) with a tolerance on both dimensions of +/- ½ in (+/- 13mm). Being from Texas, you'll appreciate that this really is a HUGE table !!
      To answer your second question: yes. Though other players may have been more successful in terms of ranking titles (Stephen Hendry) all top players, commentators and unbiased amateurs agree that he is the most talented player the game has ever seen, a real snooker genius.

    • @easttexan2933
      @easttexan2933 7 лет назад

      thanks for the info. I've been watching his and other's matches and it seems to me that his presence at the table is so much smoother and confident. And I definitely notice the "intimidation" factor. Reminds me of the same thing when Tiger Woods was in his prime here in the US on the golf tour.

    • @Oldfaithful61
      @Oldfaithful61 7 лет назад +2

      Absolutely. Add that intimidation factor to his genius and skill and you've got a real snooker beast.

    • @sunandablanc
      @sunandablanc 7 лет назад +5

      I'm American, too (Pennsylvania), but live in France. I'm a pool player, and first got hooked on snooker while travelling in Ireland five years ago. Since then I've watched 30 years worth of matches, catching up. And I can assure you, with all due respect to Hendry, Davis and etc., Ronnie O'Sullivan is the Michael Jordan, the Tyger Woods of the sport. At his best he hardly seems human. Watching his matches, the effortless perfection of his play, is so damn relaxing and entertaining I've no words for it. There are hours of him doing his thing on RUclips Enjoy!

    • @easttexan2933
      @easttexan2933 7 лет назад +1

      I agree JQ wholeheartedly. All of these matches I've been watching have "good" players but like you say, there is something about the way O'Sullivan moves around the table that makes him stand out. His shooting is absolutely spot on. Rarely misses. This has to be so intimidating to the other players.

    was this synced with a potato?

      I don't think so. It sounds more like it was synced using a toaster. It could have been done with good quality potato though.

      even an aubergine; which is the hepatitis C of the vegitable world; could have synced it better.

      Irene Veronica Why thank you. I've been watching a lot of Archer lately so my use of sarcasm and inappropriate analogies has sky rocketed. It's becoming quite a real problem IRL hahaha :/

    The sound on this video is delayed by at least two seconds and it sounds awful.

    I think every generation deserves to develop and build their own legends. But there would be some all time greatest for which the time will stay still - for me, Ronnie is one of them, alongside Federer, Schumacher, Zidane, Jordan and Messi.
