I've seen Ronnie live once and it's even more amazing watching him,his cue action is like liquid gold and his speed of thought and ability to manipulate the cue ball is just memorising the greatest ever
I think even Ronnie's biggest detractors can no longer argue against him being the greatest snooker player in history. I'm 45 and don't expect his records to be broken in my lifetime.
Maybe Judd Trump could be total centuries because he plays in more tournaments and still has quite a few years in the game left. The rest of his records def won’t be beaten in our lifetimes. There’s not a player on the horizon with the talent he had at 16.
Jaw dropping player. I'm not sure there is anyone so naturally talented in any other sport is there? I love listening to the commentaries, particularly those who take longer to explain a shot than it takes to think it through and play it.
The cheat code of snooker - Ronnie O’ Sullivan..left hand right hand..nobody comes close to that skill of playing the same variety of shots equally with both hands.
5:05 is THE GREATEST SHOT IN SNOOKER HISTORY (IMHO). He put the cueball behind a ball that wasn't there yet. It's so outrageously genius that most people won't even realise the audacity, the effortless mastery. GOAT.
Although he snookered his opponent on the yellow, he left the pink "on". His opponent should have just potted the easy pink and picked up three times as many points. Okay, strictly speaking the yellow should have been potted next, but nobody checks.
That's the idea! As long as you nominate your ball - as you say, "I'll take the pink" - nobody checks. The referee has got bigger things on his or her mind like keeping the hitter-ball clean, putting the helper-sticks back in their places and keeping the chalk topped up. What player in their right mind would go for a lousy 2 points yellow ball when they can get 6 or 7 points for one of the fancier ones. Another top tip: if you want to impress people on your daily commute, buy a copy of The Times, and while you're on the train just fill in the crossword with any old shít. Whose going to check it? When you've filled in all the boxes, chuck the paper into your briefcase (always carry a briefcase - it makes you look super-brainy - and scoff, "pah, that was easy". Little do they know, when we arrive in the city I get on the same train going in the opposite direction, go back home again, and watch repeats of Jeremy Kyle.
