Alright, so T55 is the bit size, and the rear light assemblies do not need to be removed; there's a connector that can be separated under the bumper for both lights and they can stay on the bed. Thank you for this video, aside from needing a hand to remove the bed, I made this repair myself. Also, my fuel gauge is still not working, I'll check the fuses and see if that's it. Thank you!
Good video, and mercifully appropriate in length.. I have a '94 with the 3.0 V6. Is the fuel pump job the same for all available engines? Thanks in advance
Why not just unplug the harness instead of pulling tail lights apart? I would replace the fuel filler hose assy given that's one the main reasons for CE light.
Is there a certain size socket (for the breaker bar that you use) to get the star bolts off in the bed of the 1994 Ford Ranger ( I have 6 total)?. I have to change my fuel pump out of my 94' Ford Ranger to, and I am just asking because I am not to sure what I am doing, that's why I am watching your video.
i put a few gallons of old gas in mine and it won't start. I was below the E so i took a risk and now i found out that it might be kerosene for a house heater. It looks clear and smells like gas but now idk what to do. I tried putting a hose in to siphon and it didn't work. ?
Charcoal canister. Tank vents through it and takes away the smell of gas fumes. You shouldn't have to worry about replacing it. Should be good for life.
Hey my ranger is a 94 2.3 and it was running, heard the fuel pump not running anymore when I turned the key figured it was a bad pump, but actually the whole fuel pump relay is just not there, was it removed or is it not necessary? Thanks please respond when you can.
Sorry for the super late reply, the issue with the check light is that I unplugged the a/c compressor connector a long time ago because the compressor clutch failed and it would not stop spinning.
I Just bought a 94 ranger supercab it had no power what so ever I had it towed to a Garage I was told that the fuel filter was so clogged they replaced the filter told me the fuel pump is probably so clogged from Whatever crap is in the gas tank that it would need a new gas tank or that tank if its good enough shape to be flushed and cleaned & new fuel pump And a complete tuneup then they said they would not do the fuel pump job unless I got a complete tuneup also Tolal job $877 How Hard of a job would it be for me to drop the tank and replace or clean the old tank , Change the fuel pump ??? , My fuel gage dont work either I dont have $500 to do this
Honestly that sounds insane, sorry for the extremely late reply. If you don't want to do the work yourself would at least take it to another shop. I have seen some bad fuel filters, but honestly even when you don't replace a fuel filter for YEARS I have never seen one that prevents a vehicle from starting entirely.
@@e36fanatics29 Update it looks like that shop was trying screw me but good I Did in fact put in A New fuel pump & Filter still dead Misfire motors still shaking no power Changed the Map sensor coolant sensors New Coil complete tuneup No change that Garage did not do a compression test They told me they did and it was good Well I have 0 lbs compression in one Cylinder Some Mechanics pis me TFO!!!
I've had a 93 ford ranger, and a 95, first thing i did ? cut a hole in bed over fuel pump, laugh all you want ... buy a piece of truck bed repair tin ... local body shop, 4 -1/4 x 1 inch long inch self tapping screws, still laughing ? call a repair shop and ask what they charge.

I'm about to tackle this job So it is a T 55 size torx bit ? Is this correct??
It is the anti slosh module not the fule pump

Tanks for the insight... have the same problem ...don't forget the Filler hose!😉
gotta love these magic videos tadaaaaa and the truck bed is magically off lol
Thank you I have a 94 and doing mine tomorrow
I love the fact that you didn't even clean the bed out first. Classic. Good looking out on the video though.
The old danger ranger wouldn't know what to do with that TLC haha.
This video really does nail it thanks man
Thanks for the help I needed the location

Theres two harness plugs under the bed infront of the bumper. Unplug and thats it. Just did my 93.

Muy buen video gracias, 👍
Sweet and short. Thanks
heard you don't have to take off taillights. just disconnect the wiring between the lights and the cab
I have a 94 ranger. 4 cylinder. Having issues with it starting...until towed to the shop...then it starts! Did this twice. Any ideas?
Lmao what is with us e36 owners and having rangers😂 I heard “hey e36 fanatics” and thought wait what video did I click😂
You sound how I'd imagine Hank hill sounded when he was younger lol
That's funny, I've gotten that once or twice in RUclips comments
Lmao I was about to say the same thing!
who is hank hill lol
Yeah gotta love that check engine light 🤣
Did you have to take the wheels and the bumper off to slide the bed back???

T 55 bit and you probably want a 1/2 socket
Thanks so much, excellent content. Much appreciated !
you need to show when you take stuff off

What is to the right of the fuel pump? I just replaced the pump and that thing to the right has a hose disconnected and it looks clogged.
What is it?
Charcoal canister. Tank vents through it and takes away the smell of gas fumes. You shouldn't have to worry about replacing it. Should be good for life.
I noticed you didn't mention the fuel in the tank. Is it necessary to drain it?
No

You need a relay. It's good to have a spare too
Were there any grounds to the bed?
What is the name of the rubber piece(black) around the fuel pump?
Sorry for the incredibly late reply, fuel pump O-ring/sending unit o-ring
What was the problem with the engine check light staying on. My 1994 has fuel problems. Ready to change the pump. It stays running all the time.

Check engine light
Gas cap was off.
In my 94 When I get down to a quarter tank and break hard the truck stalls out what do you think that is
Loose ground strap?
Mine has done the same once, did you find out what it was?
And what size bit did you use to remove bolts? T-45?
T-54
55
hi what kind of gas mile do u get with it
Thats a 4.0 like mine, city is 13 ish, back roads 16 ish, and straight highway is 20 mpg. Hope that helps.
if its a 2.3L , it gets close to 30 city, better on the highway
I have 1995 for ranger i need help on the relay
Do you really have 524,000 miles on your truck, or is the odometer broken?
Older fords are five digit odometers
oh so there's no telling how many miles
Unfortunately not with older trucks, unless the odometer has been recorded yearly.
Your problem is literally what’s wrong with mine

They are trying to rob you, buy your own shit and watch some tutorials. It's not difficult.

The problem is not your fule pump its your anti slosh module
It was the fuel pump sending unit, my fuel gauge has worked like a charm ever since.
