Willie, you do a very good job here. You could use more light, but you still do an excellent job. Nice, informative, with no B.S. that most Vids give. Keep them coming!
Doogie Houser Appreciate the coment! , I have some more videos coming soon.
Great straight forward video. Thanks for posting, was a big help to me.
A couple additional tips and a question: You have to unplug the cigarette lighter. The two wire harnesses are pinch clips. You need to squeeze them on the ends so they will come out. Do the right one first as it's the easiest to get to. Question, how in the heck do I get my fat hands behind the instrument cluster to even get to the plugs? I need arms and hands like Groot!
My cluster doesn’t pull foward after unscrewing the screws like your video I don’t wana rip the cables
I wish my interior looked as great as yours, lol
Great job!
Thanks for sharing. Just bought a 94 B2300 and was looking for something like this
Great tutorial. I have a '93 Ranger which is about the same. I plan to replace with regular #194 bulbs so as not to have to deal with the polarity of the LEDs. Thanks!!
yeah stock bulbs work nice as well just wanted something a bit brighter . hope it works out for you
How did you get the dash face off? Tried prying edges and feels like it wants to break. 1994 manual ranger too
NOTE TO ALL: I just did this on my 93. Same dash, manual transmission (so no shift indicator cable to remove). IT IS 100% POSSIBLE to put new bulbs in without undoing both wire plugs. I popped the one closer to the driver side but couldn't get the other one. I ended up using a picture of the backside and feeling around with my fingers to find each bulb and swapping it out. It's easy enough. Excellent mod, highly reccommended.
Hey did u put in simple white LED’s? I want to put red ones but heard that theres a film inside that reflects the green color at all times
@@jacobog3221 yes go with white. red will look bad because of the green film
I just want to say thank you for your help. I just put pink LEDs in my 93 4x4 cant wait till night time.
+ What are the different size LEDs for?
Your such a big help thank you so much
Man, how do you take the knob thing off under the middle of the cluster? does it just unscrew?
It comes off
Twist the clip and pull.
Where did you order the led lights from I’ve been looking for aftermarket clusters but no company seems to want to make any so I was thinking of going custom and making my own on my 92 ranger
I see you used two different types and size of LED bulbs for the instrument cluster how many do I need of each size so they fit properly ? I see you have about 15 of them.
the led video size it works in a ford ranger 1991??
Is there a specific size of the bulbs? Or do you have a link where I can buy them?
Can I change the color of my faded, barely working green lights by using red LEDs or would it not work
Unfortunately that won't work usually the numbers and graphics of the cluster are made of a film that has a green tint to it so it will be green no matter what but ive heard of people who scrape the back of that film off.
Did you recall which brand led you used?
what is the bulb size?
Good Video. Thanks
How many bulb did u use
How is that at night though? Is it overly bright?
its not that bad honestly. I'd rank it up there with the modern cars with the LCD screens or high output dash lights, if you know what i mean
WilliesBuilds, I'm replacing my dash bulbs, thanks for the video just gotta get past those damn clips holding it in.
My main question is actually about your radio. I'm doing an aftermarket Kenwood swap with the factory. I'm having trouble figuring out the actual dash mounting kit, how did you do it? Thanks.
Levi Baugh how did you remove your dash cover?? Mine is a 1994 and a manual. Do I just pry that dash piece away?
Crutchfield.com has instructions to install/remove radios from a very wide variety of models. This comes free with any purchase of radio or speakers but it cost like $9 for just the instructions.
so whats the difference between the 2 different LEDs u posted at the end of the video?
which ones should we be installing?
Thx
the bigger one is a bit brighter bc it has more LEDs but either one can be used throughout the cab of the truck fits everywhere
I also have a 1994 manual ranger. How do you remove this dash?? Do I need to unscrew anything or can I simply pry it off? I used a decent amount of force and it didn't seem to shake anything loose.
If it's just the bezel you want to remove you just have to pry it and pull it hard pry all around the edges . Some clips will break off tho
how many bulbs did you need? 14 for the cluster but how many for the heater control?
I know it's an old comment but I believe it was just one bulb in there . thanks for watching
La intensidad de la iluminación se puede ajustar? 💡
si amigo se nota el ajuste pero es poco. gracias
Ok...so how do i take out the dash when it's an automatic......won't pull forward because of the shifting linkage................ :(
Put the shifter down into low 1 gear. Then you can pull it by.
You have to take the lower dash plastic off and there will be a cable that comes out of the back of your instrument cluster. Youneed to takethe 1 bolt off of the end of the cable and then take the cable off of the shifter housing
how did you install your radio did you use a dash kit install for that year make and model if so can you please tell were you got it from please thank you. I also have a 1994 ford ranger
No dash kit needed
how can you make the dash light up red?
Dylan Slayton the only way would be to scrape or sand away the green film behind the numbers so that they loose the green tint and be sort of clear and then just install some red L.E.D
But do these LEDs dim?
Paxton Kington yes they do but very little
hi
What size bulb
