Proper video, straight to the point. Thankyou. 👍
Very good video thank you for sharing your tips. That paint shop set up and the shelving units is awesome!
Thank you!
Great channel. Just about to get into spraying MDF. Are you still using a primer or just going straight on with the finish paint.
Hi, I am using and trying different paints quite often.
The paint I'm using now is from Amicus uk in park royal. Check out my latest video and go to the description for all the links and some discount.
This paint above gives such flat finishes it's unreal.
You can also my older method of doing 3 coats of silk or eggshell as that worked for me for years!!
Also you can use a dedicated mdf primer with 2 top coats.
Before I tried this new 1K paint I'm using from Amicus, I was doing 3x silk or eggshell coats, I just sanded in between and job done.
The results were very good and is probably the lowest cost way to achieve a good quality sprayed finish 👍
But then again I do recommend the Vernites 1k paints from Amicus.
Lovely lovely lovely video
+Mihai Esanu
Thank you for your kind comments 😀
loved the video. I would like to know a bit more about preparing/finishing MDF edges for a high gloss lacquered finish, many thanks
Great suggestion!
Thank you!
Hi i see you use Leland Acrylic primer. Do you need to thin the paint for spraying??
Hi, no not with an airless sprayer 👍
For those looking for the Zinsser paint the best prices I have found are at Screwfix. I will be using both the Bulls Eye 123 primer and the Zinsser Perma-white for the finish on an MDF bath panel soon. I won't be using moisture resistant MDF because I can only buy a full sheet and will have a lot of waste. Hopefully the Zinsser primer and Perma-White paint will give it enough protection with two coats of each. I may seal the edges with epoxy resin before painting. Any advice would be helpful.
Nice video great to see how the pros do it! I’m looking to spray some skirting, stair woodwork and architrave and have bought a 310 FFLP graco tip for my Erbauer airless sprayer (got a graco guard for it). Do you dilute the primer and top coat at all? Also what pressure do you run at? Thanks.
Thanks!
I never dilute paint and the pressure I use is generally around 1600 to 1900 depending on paint using a 310 tip.
I've never used the erbaurer sprayer so I couldn't say if what I just said applies to this sprayer 👍
Thanks very much for this video, it is very informative. I am a female with a hubby who is pretty useless at DIY so will be on my own with this project. I have two cupboard doors that my joiner routed the front edges on, I'm concerned about them swelling up. Can I use acrylic paint to seal the edges (the type for ceramics, which is self-sealing?) Otherwise I could invest in the 1 litre Zinsser one in the blue tin, what would you suggest? Can I also use the same Zinsser 1-2-3 primer on plasterboard? Many thanks in advance.
Your welcome! That's good to hear your taking on the challenge.
To be honest any undercoat, primer or specialist sealing paint would seal the edges. Even if you use Pva glue mixed with water 50/50 would do the job.
I'm sure the paint you mentioned would do the job.
I'd suggest first rubbing the edges down using p120 grit if they are really fluffy then p240 after.
If the edges arnt to bad then go straight to p240.
Once sanded then give a coat of your paint.
Once dried give the paint a very light rub down with p240 to take the high spots off.
This should seal the edges enough to put your primer/undercoat and then top coat/s.
I hope that helps😀
thanks mate. do you thin the paint o work with the air gun? if not the paint is very thick
I never thin, these machines pressurise to up to 3300 psi so there is no need 👍
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop Oh wow I see. what sort of gun then do i need to look for? i assume the needle shouldn't be too thin in dia
What set up you got now for spraying
Sorry for the late reply, so many questions to get through.
I do have more spraying vids out there plus tours, showing my present set up
Great video just what I needed, I'm about to do my first big mdf cabinet door spray job. I am wanting to go with water based paint, but am worried about drying times, I have a few questions:
1. Why roll the zisner instead of spraying it? 2. Can you use the zisner to prime. 3. What is your edge sanding procedure. 4. Is the topcoat you are using waterbased?
I hope you get a chance to reply.
Thanks a million
Hi ,thank you!
When painting the edges, you get so much better coverage with a 4" rag roller than a sprayer.
I'm not actually sure you should spray zinnser due to what it's made from, I think it says not to spray on the tin because it can combustion? Had some flammable chemicals in it? Something like that ,so it's worth reading up on it before putting through your sprayer.
Yes you can use zinnser to prime but again look into the spraying side of zinnser.
We stack up our MDF in batches, use an orbital sander starting with p60 then p120 then p240.
After we fill with ready mixed filling compound or filler.
When dry sand with p240 and dont sand too far back.
Dust down and roll on zinnser or acrylic primer 2 coats.
After 2nd coat is dry, very finely hand sand the batch with p240.
Break batch apart and use a micro round 1/4" router cutter on all seen edges/corners then quick hand rub with p240 on same edges/corners.
Now ready to spray the whole component.
Yes the top coat I use is always water based if I put it through my airless sprayer.
I use silks and eggshells mainly.
Try and mist coat first primer coat otherwise if it's too heavy the MDF grain will rise whilst its drying.
We use space heaters to warm up the spray room.
BTW we have built a new sprayroom and booth and this is actually going to be the first video of the series starting the beginning of January 2020 so I hope it helps you.
Cheers Ryan
Bloody spell checker!
Wow thanks so much for the detailed response, really helpful. I hadn't seen anything on the zisner tin about not spraying it, haven't looked to be honest but several guys on RUclips have recomend spraying with it.
With regards to filling, all of my doors have been cut and routed already, in a modern shaker style, that is flat with v groves routed in. What's the best way to smooth and get the paint into those v grooves. It seems that I get alot of fiber in the bottom of the groove, and paint doesn't go in there easily. Thanks again for the help.
Not being a fun sponge...but your mask doesn't work with facial hair. Watch out!
Thank you for very thorough tutorial! Very informative and full of useful tips!Is the way of painting (including types of primers and paints) suitable for painting kitchen cabinet doors to achieve smooth slick eggshell finish? Is water "proofness" of your recipe presented in your video sufficient for kitchen, under kitchen sink MDF doors. I am a novice at this and not a professional, redoing our own kitchen :). I am about to buy used 390PC in great shape with FFLP 208 tip. Intend to buy 310 and 410 tips. Are FFLP tips ok (they supposedly require half the pressure) or should I use regular 310 and 410s?
it looks like only 1 edge of the pieces are sealed with the zinzer. I assume that is the only visible edge. Do you still paint the other edges, but don't bother with the sealing because the finish is not important?
It all depends on how visable the edge is. We don't touch it if not visible. Adjustable shelves used to have less time and effort spent on the unseen edges but now we do all edges 100%
Do you spray the Zinser on the edges or brush roll? Thanks
Hi I use a mini roller😀
all the time you have been spraying and experimenting with paints
which paint would you recommend for painting a mdf candy cart
needs to be hard wearing thanks
Hi I would use a good quality acrylic undercoat primer to start with as the first coat. Then sand after with p240 very lightly to de-nib.
I'd probably just use an eggshell or satin finish for the top coats, satin would be a bit harder wearing.
Most paint brands do a "hard wearing/durable/wipeable version of most finishes
I was told by a carpenter not to use water based products on mdf, so I'm now confused.
Hi, do you spray, roll or brush the 123 edge primer, and do you prime the face of the board, or spray finish direct onto the MDT?
Hi I just roll the zinsser on, I also use standard primer now rather than zinsser and it works a treat still.
I just spray the face.
Do you ever put lacquer finish over the top of eggshell to protect the paint and what is the method please? Could you spray it from a can then sand and polish the lacquer?
Hi sorry for the late reply.
I've never tried it over eggshell but I have tried it over birch ply that was oiled with osmo oil.
I use a water based lacquer ( manns ) I think, and it came out well.
On the other side, I think over time it has changed the colour slightly and turned it very slightly yellow (very slightly).
In theory lacquering over eggshell should work but i wouldn't know of it would change the colour.
With water based you would stand a better chance though i think.
I have never polished the lacquer after spraying, i generally get a good enough finish, satin sheen mainly.
Dulux Diamond eggshell tends to dry with a bit more sheen than most eggshell finishes. So good choice there. Plus it's very durable. If I didn't have access to Dulux Diamond, I would probably use a pearl or satin finish (of good quality) for greater durability. Also..I've noticed over the years that many "would be spray painters" do not really understand tip sizes. Nor do many salesmen of spray tips. I know the difference because I have been spraying for 25 years. But I don't make RUclips videos. So maybe you could make a video (All Graco airless of course) explaining fan width, orifice sizes, color of specific tips, distance for optimal results, etc. Btw. I have a similar set up for cabinet doors. I do find that it is not quite enough on it's own. So I use the water trick. A light dusting of water on all surface areas in the booth... helps a lot. Good video.
+John Shader
Hi John,
That's great advice, I will look into making a video.
I don't have a massive amount of knowledge on tips other than the standard blue and fine finish but I could say what I know on the subject.
Much appreciated
Thanks Ryan
How do we spray joints so that they are not visible
I paint the edges with Zinsser B-I-N, light sand back and then spray primer and top coat, perfect finish
Hi...just a question...you put one primer, them sand it with 240(to get rid of orange peel) and paint just one coat? Or you put 2 coats? Thank you
Hi not sure if your watching an older vid, but now I give 1 coat, then sand p240, then give another 2 coats.
Sometimes just one more is good enough but I like doing 3 coats in total now 😁😁😁
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop thank you...and between 2nd and 3rd, you sand it as well?...thank you very much for your info. I am learning..😋
No probs, no I personally don't sand for a 2nd time, but there is no harm in doing it if you want if you go lightly
Good video and thanks for showing names and types of the paint used. How do you loose a paint tin lid though lol. Thought it was only me done stuff like that!
Hi, do you thin your primer or top coat, or is it straight out of the tin? Thanks.
Hi no, no paints need to be thinned when using an airless sprayer 👍👍
Hi London craftsman in relation to the filler you use, if youve routered the edges what do you use to apply the filler to the edge? I've tried using a steel spreader but need something more flexible to help with round over edges. Any advise what I could use?
+Bamb Furniture
Hi there,
To be honest, we generally only use a very small radius router cutter, literally a micro round to take the arris off.
It's so small we really don't bother filling that particular round.
If it's a larger moulding or round then I'd probably just use my finger to apply.
A bit primitive but it gets the job done better than any tool.
If you have lots to do then maybe try brushing on some zinsser paint, let dry/cure and sand back. This will fill all the tiny holes and fluffy edges and is a good starting point
Thanks Ryan
I thought you were spraying oil base paint why clean with water that doesn’t work.
No I very rarely spray oil based, can't remember if I did in this vid, but if I'm cleaning with water then it would have been water based paint
Very informative , thumbs up.
+bonginkosi mthethwa
Great that's good to hear.
Thank you
Really great video chap, thanks for sharing.👍
Thanks John 👍
tip number 2 isn`t great because these are DUST FILTERS not GAS but i guess for waterbased primer could work
Quick question. I have the truecoat pro II with the 311 tip. I am using sherwin williams wood and wall latex primer and proclassic waterborne acrylic alkyd for the finish. But everytime I spray a MDf panel with the primer, I have some spots that are way shiner than other spots. You can't tell if you look directly at it. But when you look at it on an angle during natural light you can see the shiny spots. Wanting to know if the latex primer is problem, and if I need to Prime with an oiled based primer?
Can I ask you a question, I've built bout 6 units there all fitted now, in situ,i was thinking bout spraying them in place, I'm just wondering what you would think on this as the rolling will like you said will take forever, any advice is welcome thank you.
Hi, I think you need to of had a bit of experience with sprayers to spray them in situ.
That being said, ive only really used airless sprayers which are different from hvlp sprayers.
I sprayer drawer boxes and some Carcasses, also window seat carcassas etc in my spray booth using my graco 695, but I'm careful not to put the paint on too thick which is so easy to do with an airless.
If you do use airless, then pressure has to be as low as possible and you need to use a green FFLP spray tip (fine finish low pressure).
So with some expensive and the right spray tip and pressure set lowest possible, then I'd say you would manage with an airless.
I cant help with any other sprayers as I've not had enough experience.
Ryan
Was ment to say experience nor expensive
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshopcheers for the advice it's really appreciated, I dont want mess this up if I proceed with it,I've got some experience, I used to spray few years ago (long while lol)but only in shop in a booth complete with full racking systems for a shop fitting company I was without but I've never spray any assemble units tbh, I'm back doing my carpentry now more than ever, which is what I really want to be doing, the building work in these months is just the pits lol...
And on them units I'm telling you about I can take all of the the doors gables cornice etc off and do a proper job on them, but the units would be tricky enough, plus there mdf moisture resistant, rock and hard place I think,I was only meant to build and assemble but now they want me to paint them,so I may aswell get stuck in, cheers on the advice I will get back and let you know how it went, wish me luck lol...
You'll be alright! Good luck 👍
Hi London Craftsman. I know this is an old video but I have a question. When you build the wardrobes do you wood glue and pin?
I’m wondering if I should leave an unpainted strip for the glue to adhere to
Hi again, unfortunately i don't have a paint spray gun, so what type of paint and brush if i'm doing it by hand and any other tips you can give so i don't 'end up with drips. AGain, i'm going to be painting my shaker kitchen cabinets that i did with your other video. And should I use a roller or paint brush?
Hello great job do you spray water or solvent base and how do you avoid overspray on the back w you spray the front thanks

Thank you very much for the information. Do you use any form of dust control in your spraying area?
+David Mortimore
Hi David,
I have 2 extractor, 1 movable 8" hose near where I spray and one near my racks.
I will be upgrading this soon to a large 2ft fan under my spraying table sucking the air out with air vents at the rear. This would create a one way air flow keeping dust and overspray from the work.
The London Craftsman That’s great. thank you.
When you spray tall doors with water based, do you find that spraying only one side makes the MDF warp? Perhaps this is not the same for the green MDF, but for regular MDF I have been told it does.
Hi, I make sure I spray both faces within an hour or so of each other, and do the same for every set of coats.
I never have a problem whether I used MR mdf or standard MDF.
Just make sure you put them completely flat when drying them and paint both faces as quickly as you can and you should be fine
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop Thanks. I was going to use those plastic pyramids and have a mate help me turn the doors.
@@JohnnyMotel99 yeah that's a good idea, try and dry the paint as quick as possible, within an hour or so ideally.
I have a space heater in the sprayroom to keep it warm.

Yep believe it or not it goes up to 3500 psi
Johnstones noooo!

Hey its waterbased 😁
Hi mate, great channel and great video, thanks. Can I ask, would that Dulux eggshell be okay for exterior shutters do you know? If not, can you please recommend a decent eggshell type paint for exterior work. Thanks again, Robin 👍
Thanks Robin, I appreciate it 👍
If you are paint exterior timber shutters I would imagine you would need to use a brand such as sandtex or dulux weather shield, they come in all sheets I believe, eggshell satin gloss etc.
I havnt actually painted many outdoor pieces of furniture but I dont think standard indoor eggshells and other paints may not be tough enough, especially in the cold rainy UK
Thanks Ryan

@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop lol, didn't even notice mate, I'm London too 😉
nice setup you have man thanks for the video
Thanks !
Great job and thanks for sharing. What do you use to fill the ends before and in between sanding? Do you dilute your paint and primer and if so, what viscosity?
+Derek Evans
Hi Derek,
To fill the edges I use a ready mixed filler.
The actual one I go for is in wickes (builders merchant) and it's called mounting compound and dry liners use it to fill the gaps between plasterboard sheets.
With an airless sprayer you don't need to thin the paint, it sprays out paint using up to 2800 psi (a car tyre is only 30 psi so it's a lot!).
Under coat would be a waterbased acrylic primer/Under coat and top coat would be a waterbased acrylic eggshell.
Thanks Ryan
The London Craftsman Thanks Ryan. Keep up the good work.
Hi Ryan...you have persuaded me to invest in a sprayer so I can give my clients a better finish on their wardrobes etc. You just can't get a great finish with a roller. I have fabricated a spray booth out of 50mm insulation boards at the bottom end of my workshop / garage on an old work bench. Then I have cut out for a 8inch portable extractor (explosion proof) as it could come in handy on some site installations. I have a compressor which I can attach a gravity fed spray gun too but I have also bought the Graco Ultra corded sprayer for onsite jobs.
I would post a pic of the booth but I don't know how on here.
Anyway...thanks again for the videos as it has helped me to progress further for a seasoned veteran. Keep the videos coming

Just subscribed. I have watched your videos since 7pm till 11pm!! love your videos. Keep up good work. I am interested in the spray on MDF. At the moment I have got 24L air compressor and am using HVLP spray air gun. I don't know if it is good because I am new to it. But I am doing a small jobs. hi i do simlar work to you and want to get into spraying never really sprayed before. have had suggestions to go HVLP. what would u recomend? HVLP unit is double the price of yours £1300! and also may need somethinning. on the up side i think its easier clean less messy and sprays slower so would be easier for me to achieve a very good finish as a beginner? Would the airless be too fast for me to learn with? 1 more thing i dont have dedicated spray room yet hope to in future to need to see how things go first! Good videos by the way!
Hi Jack
Not sure what you've been up to over the past year but, I am about to venture into the cabinet business and want to do it on the cheap. I bought a Harbor Freight airless sprayer for $169, added some tips and I'm under $200. As for a spray booth, I thought about using my basement, or my wifes side of the garage but decided against it. I then looked into getting a shed/out building, storage container or even a used box truck box. All were too expensive. I then thought about free campers/trailers on craigslist. I found 2 within a 2 hour drive from me. Both are over 20' long and will be perfect as a cheap paint room. I'll gut it, seal the roof, walls and windows as needed, maybe cut in a larger door for easier loading and unloading, run an extension cord from my house until I buy a cheap generator (under $200) and heat with an indoor rated propane heater (I'll also have a CO2 detector for safety). For ventilation, I'll be taking tips from The London Craftsman and adding 2 fans mounted low by my spray area and cover with foam as he did. Fresh air will be brought in by a similar fan system to minimize dust.
Does water based primer/paint run the risk of swelling the MDF?
It can do slightly as in grain rising. To combact this, do more coats and less paint per coat. Also heat is critical to dry paint quickly within 15mins per coat
This is an awesome video. Brilliant. I have one question. If all the shelves and panels were all built in place would it be harder to get a good finish? Thanks
Thank you! Yes definitely, but still doable👍
Loved the video .
I use the 123 shellac based primer....no bleed thru regardless of the type of mdf ,lays out and sands beautifully.
Great thanks! Yep the 123 is great, all zinnser products are really good.
😁
I was using that stuff too but now, moved to same as above due to cost - 2022/2023 but I miss that shellac smell - yum!
im loving your videos bro. you certainly know your trade.
So is the egg shell a gloss that you are using for the top coat? If not what is it?
Hi Warren, the eggshell is just a type of paint that is about 10 percent sheen.
An across-the-pond look at what I love to do here in the colonies. Different locales do the same things differently. Cheers and thanks for widening my scope.
Achieve a professional finish....
...first, buy or rent a plot of land and build your full-size professional spray-coating booth, complete with paint sprayer. Sheesh.
We are all millionaires arnt we Ben..... sheesh
Have you got an email address
Very cool setup you have there
"I've put in a rack"
"you put it in Iraq? What the fuck is it doing in Iraq"
That joke never gets old at our place.
I recently purchased the FUJY system HVLP but I'm not very happy because reaching the right density is not easy and often humidity or different temperatures give a bad result.
Do you have to mix paint with your airless system or not?
Many thanks
+Giovanni Fiori
It depends on the quality you are trying to achieve.
The airless sprayer will not give you an absolute flawless finish, but using the fine finish tips (green tips with a 310, 410 hole) you will achieve a very good finish.
We spray mdf wardrobe components with it and to be fair it can't get much better.
We do one solid coat with an acrylic primer undercoat and light rub down with p240 after. Then lastly a top coat with a good quality eggshell or satinwood.
The paint doesn't need to be thinned with these machines. Just put your paint in and away you go.
We spray at the lowest pressure possible without getting tails from the spray tip.
I got a result with an acrylic primer undercoat and light rub down with p320 after it was not satisfactory for me. I would like to show you the actualy result. How can I show you?
+Giovanni Fiori
Cool!
I can't remember any of my email addresses but if you go to my website www.thelondoncraftsman.co.uk and go to the contacts page there will be an email to send it too ☺
perfect. I am doing
do you have a gun cleaning video
No but I'll look into that in the next few days
What if you havent got spray machine like that, can?
you can do it by hand but it's never going to be as nice as spray gun. it takes much more time aswell to even get it to semi fine look. after a month you realize that the time you have put into painting by hand easily makes for a good gun which will generate high quality and clients to come back for more.
There are a number of cheap sprayers. Look into Harbor Freight airless sprayer $169, maybe their purple automotive spray gun, also a wagner airless sprayer for under $100 would probably work too.
Good day. Can you do a video on how to seal mdf edges for a smooth satin finish using the 1 2 3 primer? I am using benjiman Moore latex water base paint for the finish
Hi This video should show you how. The key is to sand and fill the edges (p120 then p240 then fill remaining holes etc with either 2 pack filler or ready mixed filler).
Then sand back that filler lightly.
After simply use a mini gloss roller or brush to apply the zinsser.
Once dry prime the edge with primer/undercoat (possibly the same time you paint the whole component). Once dry just a very light rub over with p240, dust down then ready for top coat/s.
Hope that helps
hi whats the top paint
you are using .great video

Thank You!
We generally use an eggshell top coat.
If it's white we use a dulux diamond eggshell but if it's a colour then we get our paint shop to mix the equivalent diamond eggshell finish.
Thanks ryan
do you thin the paint
No straight from the tin with an airless sprayer
I'm planning to spray 2 coats of watered down layland undercoat/primer on MDF then follow you with 2 coats of diamond eggshell. Do I spray the eggshell on without watering down and will the diamond eggshell be strong enough for kids wardrobes
Hi yes diamond eggshell will be tough enough for sure!
I'm not sure what sprayer you will be using, but if it's an airless sprayer then no need to thin any paints. I use diamond regularly over an MDF primer undercoat and always good results.
Even with one top coat, you will have a very tough finish, but 2 top coats is definitely recommended.

Good morning and happy Easter. Thanks for the reply, it's nothing special, just a siphon ran from my shop compressor. I'm amazed this all round wall, ceiling, metal and wood paint will even work but you'd clearly got the experience so I'm happy to use it. Do you think I'd have to water it down? It is water based right?
Hi happy Easter!
If you are using a hvlp spray gun, I doubt this house hold paint will pass through.
If you watered it down it probably would, but then it would be making the paint soo thin and watery it wouldn't really work. Definitely go water based if your a beginner.
I use an airless sprayer, they use pressures of up to 3000 psi to push un- thinned paint through.
A hvlp sprayer only uses about 10 psi give or take I think, hence the reason you need the paint to be nearly water consistency.
As long as you use a good primer/undercoat, you should be able to apply most paint finishes over the top as your top coat.
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
Thanks. Yes definitely a beginner! It is a help sprayer and the compressor runs around 100psi. Would I be throwing money away do you think by watering down this paint?
I'm not 100% sure how the finish will turn out watering it down.
Have you got an old tin of satin wood, gloss or eggshell lying around that you could test? (Waterbased)
Or even an emulsion?
You could see how much you need to thin before it sprays through the gun?
Emulsion is naturally thinner so if your testing it would give you more accurate results on the other paints.
Either way a test with any paint would be better than nothing.
Sorry but MDF stands for Medium Density Fiberboard, not the made up moisture resistant...lol! MDF is anything but moisture resistant.
a word to the wise young man, if you have a skill/trade/process that your earning your living with, then don't ever teach anybody else that skill as all your doing is creating competition and lowing your fee for said job. far better to keep your secrets of how your trade is done to yourself and keep your market place to yourself too
Bit narrow minded, if everyone did that, No one would ever learn anything new. Competition is healthy for business, it keeps you motivated, it keeps you innovative, and it keeps you pushing to be better.
There are billions of people in the world and there will always be someone better at what they're doing than you, someone else will know more, thats how you improve, by sharing knowledge.
I made the mistake of not primer coating any of the edges or rebated sides of the MDF and the paint just absorbed into it....took about 4 coats, il know for next time, 2 questions please?
(1)Is it advisable to edge the MDF with a oak edging or whatever first for a better and easier finish,
(2)Should you not clean out the gun with a thinner or white spirit rather than water???
Thank You.
Hi, there are a few ways of preparing mdf edges for painting.
1- use a paintable iron -on edging. They are pre glued just use an iron to glue them on.
2- fill and sand the edges first. I use this way all the time. If you look for one of my videos called achieve professional finishes on mdf edge EP#3, this will show you everything you need to know.
Thanks ryan
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop thank you Ryan 👍🏻
Great video mate I found it realy helpful, I make similar stuff to you but because i don't finish the jobs i.e. decorate them i feel like I'm missing an opertunity to impress clients. Do you use water based paints or oil? also would be interested how big your workshop is as i have room at bottom of garden to fit a 6x6 m workshop. Been a while since the last video mate !
Hi, I only use oil based paints, i dont put oil based through our airless sprayer ( even though you can).
Our work shop is approx 7m x 16m with a dedicated spray booth.
I keep meaning to make some videos just been so busy, also need some suggestions on which vids to make.
Cheers!
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop thats a nice size space , so expensive to rent space as a one mane band. I quite like the fast forward vids, I love to see quality finished article . Love your work mate
Thanks mate, yes renting is expensive.
Try and look into getting an apprentice from a college maybe.
Cheers mate
Would be nice to see a really close up shot of the edges to see how much of the 'grain' raised up or if it is truly smooth.
Glass smooth mate
There isn’t a grain in mdf.
Sorry but the sound quality is not clear :(
