I was very close with my Grandmother but she never really cared for the music I like. I had this version playing in my car once and she LOVED it. Every time I drove her home after a Sunday dinner or something, I'd put this in for her. It always made her happy and it was one of a very few songs we both liked. She passed away a few years back, but I still think of her and smile when I hear this song.

Fun fact: Dave Grohl and his band refused to play this song live for 10 years because everytime they did before, fans would toss Mentos at the band and he said it actually hurt because some of the fans threw them pretty hard.

After about 10 years Dave decided to play big me at a gig one night
As he started to play the song he was bombarded with mentos
Dave stop playing,and picked up a packet of mentos off the floor
He said, right I'm fucking putting a stop to this shit right here,right now
I'm gonna have a sacrificial burning of mentos to stop this shit,
He held up the mentos,
Put his hand in his pocket to pull out his lighter,but realized he must of left it backstage in the dressing room,
He shouts to the crowd, " oh fuck I must of left it backstage,

Only to be bombarded with about 150 lighters thrown from the crowd,

I just realized, he's singing to Kurt about their time in Nirvana. He'd talk about making another band, but Kurt was just so good, hard to leave. Even Dave fell into being Kurt's fan
This song has always been a favorite of my two girls. Remember it clear as day walking into a FF concert with them 12 years ago, aged 5 and 10 at the time. They Loved every second and sang every word of that live performance. Two amazing young Ladies with a pure love for life and good music. Blessings come in all forms.

Es momento que las nuevas generaciones conozcan que DAVE GROHL (vocalista) anteriormente fue el GRAN BATERISTA de NIRVANA y que se disolvió cuando falleció KURT COBAIN. Y el pasado 25 de Marzo falleció su CARISMÁTICO baterista TAYLOR HAWKINS (quien por cierto perteneció a la bNd de ALANIS MORISSETTE). La letra de esta canción trata sobre ser abandonado. Grohl lo resumió de esta forma: "La chica conoce al chico, el chico se enamora, la chica le dice que se vaya!". El vídeo es una PARODIA de los comerciales de MENTOS (son caramelos de menta que vienen en tubos fabricados en EUROPA). 🤘🏿ULTRAMEGAROLOTA🤘🏿19/07/2022
Wish Pat Smear got a bit more attention in the video; he was instrumental to the hilarity of the original video! I guess to be fair, they were going for a bit more of a folksy angle this time around. You can just see it at 1:50 though, he kinda wants to bust out with the silliness :D
