Gremlins 2 is at the top of my list! That scene where the Brainiac gremlin calmly and casually shoots the Dumb gremlin in the face never fails to make me laugh! 👹😁
To be fair to the guys, the film was very misunderstood at the time and quite ahead of the game in being so happy to not just break but destroy the fourth wall. They all seemed very open to revisiting the film again!
Born in 1969, so grew up with a lot of Jim Henson influence ..ergo, my top pick "tiny terror" is the menacing _Crazy Harry_ from The Muppet Show! He was this crazed, wild-eyed, cackling loon who'd run about the theater - replete with one of those old school push-down handle explosive detonators - blowing shit up.

The original "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" (1973) with Kim Darby & Jim Hutton......back in its day, it was really creepy. Those little furry demons living in the chimney were only shown at the end. The suspense and tension built through the film was very well done. An excellent vintage made-for-TV movie. Way better than the 2010 remake.
Hell yeah 👍 The 2010 remake sucked. They were more of a pest control issue than something scary. In the original movie (and the remake) the creatures are shown throughout the movie however, not just at the end, and they don't live in the chimney but in a mysterious large space sealed behind a bricked up fireplace in the basement.

@@manuelper That was actually supposed to have been a Twilight Zone episode, but CBS thought it was too brutal for television so they had them rewrite it as what became the episode "The Invaders" where the old woman living alone in a cabin in the woods (Agnes Moorhead of "Bewitched" fame) is terrorized by the decidedly _not_ scary spacemen that look like tiny windup robot toys (it turns out that the woman is actually on another planet and the tiny wind up toy robot looking things are actually human astronauts from Earth; one of the laziest and most disappointing Twilight Zone twist endings ever). The story is based on a short story by Richard Matheson called "Prey", which the Trilogy Of Terror version stays very faithful to. I would have loved the Twilight Zone version to have stuck to Matheson's original vision; it could have easily been the best Twilight Zone episode ever if done right. Fortunately we got to see it later as part of Trilogy Of Terror.
My top three are probably the original Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, the Zuni fetish doll segment of Trilogy Of Terror, and the Talky Tina episode of The Twilight Zone. The puppet? I love creepy puppet stories (there were two creepy puppet Twilight Zone episodes) but "Magic" was actually a psychological thriller; the puppet isn't actually alive it's just a psychological projection of Hopkins' deeply disturbed character. It's not a bad film but a lot of people were disappointed with it because they were expecting a well crafted, well vast creepy puppet horror movie and it turns out that's not what it is.

I like the movie and thought the medieval clothing on the troll was a creepy touch (how old was that thing supposed to be 🤔?) but the reptilian humanoid thing definitely decreased the creepy factor for me (reptilian looking things just aren't scary in the way, say, the fireplace goblins from DBAOTD are). That and the fact that the creature was killable. That's one of the things that ruined the 2010 cinematic remake of DBAOTD; not only did they look more like rats than creepy goblins, they could be squished to death by a little girl ffs. Dear Chaps, really, really good show. It hurts me to say this, but after all this time, I am starting to suspect that I may be the "anti Pete". Here are a few movie issues: “Critters 3” (1991) is by far my favorite of the Critters series (featuring Leonardo DiCaprio’s greatest performance) Tremors is probably my favorite (horror) movie series - even though I did not agree with the end of the final movie (what were they thinking). I was going nuts wondering why no one was mentioning Child’s Play. You should def do a ranking.
Dear Chaps, really, really good show.
It hurts me to say this, but after all this time, I am starting to suspect that I may be the "anti Pete". First of all let's ignore Magma and Television "Marquee Moon”. Here are a few movie issues:
“Critters 3” (1991) is by far my favorite of the Critters series (featuring Leonardo DiCaprio’s greatest performance)
Tremors is probably my favorite (horror) movie series - even though I did not agree with the end of the final movie (what were they thinking).
Charles Band's greatest movie (by a country mile) is "Trancers" (1985)
I would just like to mention that I believe 4 of the Puppet Master movies were directed by (the great) David DeCoteau, who directed two of my favorite movies, “Creepozoids” (1987) and “Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama” (1989)
Great show chaps and Pete, my wife kindly overlooks my mistakes, so I feel that I can overlook (some) of yours.
Keep up the good work.
Aylmer from Brain Damage.
Crap!! Completely forgot about that one!
Yayyyy new video!!
Gremlins bc Phoebe Cates.
if Alo didn't say his penis this was a lost cause...
Didn't see your post for Day 9 re Prog....did it maybe disappear?

Can always count on Chris to ruin a good time.
I have a different take. A show without Chris on SOT is a good show, however an episode having King 👑 ALO is getting the 5️⃣ point extra credit question correct, for a 1️⃣0️⃣5️⃣ on your examination 👍💯
Agreed and isn’t Pete the moderator anyway ugh! Don’t say we need to keep this moving and then apologize?? Nothing should have been said there. Keep up with the stories Dan! Just like everyone else does.
@@raymondschmalz4300 yes he was very rude there
Come on. Chris explained why he interrupted Dan and excuses himself for it. And Dan seems to have no problem with it.
@@ChiefWiggum08151 Dan's takes tend to be my favorite. He provides great insight to an era that I wasn't around for. I'd rather hear what Dan has to say about his picks instead of Chris complaining about Dan taking an extra minute or two in a 90 minute video.
Any significance to the pipe Davey ?
Yes! I was on a Sherlock Holmes channel earlier on and it was still just sitting there!
