  • My buddy Colby wants a new Driver Shaft. LA Golf sent us 3 options for Colby to try to see if they are better than his stock driver shaft. We test out a high launch, mid launch and low launch driver shaft and see which one is best for his golf game. All that, and more.........

    Always great to see these kind of videos, love how individuals react to different shafts (weight and flexes) differently. Must be awesome as a fitter though finding some magic in something and helping someone enjoy the game even more

    Would have liked to know the shaft weight, i feel weight plays big role compared to flex

    That white shaft was the shortest of all, and this is why you don’t commit to one brand of shaft. If he had more options he would have had a more practical fit…why not try the Trono in a 50 R or S and he would be a good candidate for their TPHDE, but I’m guessing they were not going super premium on the shafts.

    Over the past few years I have tried different golf heads in different settings and golf shafts. I would say that golf shafts make more of a difference than clubhead settings. I don't know if paying for an upgrade is going to make a huge difference, but I know that I did not like some clubheads because of the shaft. Maybe it is just me, but I find that TaylorMade golf shafts are too whippy, even the stiff shafts, and too spinny. I will have to check out Modern Golf sometime this winter!!

      I think you just gotta find the right combo n let the fitter figure out what's best. I tinkered around too much myself before I finally got fitted and it made such a difference. Ya def check out Modern Golf. Tell them Brandon from New Nine sent u. 😉 Thanks for watching. 👊

    It didn't look that windy out there. I don't see any trees blowing either. Dude has a slice. That's all there is to it. And a new shaft won't fix that, lol.

    He didn’t gain any distance and that was the only thing he asked for. I don’t think any of them were much different than his stock shaft.

    His swing speed is slow but he must’ve been hitting a good smash factor. Ball speed is very nice compare to his swing speed. Great video!

      Haha. My boy been struggling with his driver.... I swear his used to hit draws...lol

    Even with the guide tees in the ground he’s managing an out to in with an open face. Take a lesson don’t change your shaft ‘ til you can hit it straight.

    The shafts are the most important part of the club - period. But this guy has grips too small, which is the next most important. And I think 9 degrees is too low - maybe try 10. IMO get those sorted and then a few technique changes - he lines up shoulders way too open, and gets his hands too far ahead at impact (and body too sometimes). His swing is much slower than he can be - because the faster he swings the worse he hits it. There is a decent golfer in that guy - needs right gear setup and a few technique changes.

      Check out our new fitting vid. I put the same shafts in different heads. The key is finding the right combo. 👍 Thanks for watching. Cheers.

    Out to in path. Fix that first.

  • @Mike8946
    @Mike8946 2 месяца назад

    You are swinging over the top. Because you are athletic, you are able to sometimes close the face and start the ball straighter right off an identical swing. On the golf course you shut the face full closed with the same swing for a hard hook. Not being critical as this is the story of my life. Move the ball back in your stance and get a few pointers on dropping the club to the inside. A new shaft or anything else is not going to fix that.

      @@NewNineGolf my point is... none of those 3 was worth considering. A proper fitting will try many different hed/shaft combinations. The RAD hasn't been well received (the LTD seems better).

    His attack angle is horrible, should be 3-4 degrees upright
    And swing path is too far in to out

    • @NewNineGolf
      @NewNineGolf  Год назад

      Ideal attack angle depends on your clubhead speed. PGA tour average is -1.5 and LPGA average is +3 so his ideally should be somewhere between that. Also attack angle measure how steep/shallow. Hitting down or up in the ball. Doesn't have anything to do with lie angle which is upright/flat. The more you know. 🍻
