    The cool thing is swing weight is the relationship between club head and shaft not overall weight. So swing weight is still what I’m used to.

    These LA golf shafts are the best I've ever tried. I demoed them in a PXG gen 2 driver, 3 wood, and hybrid, and they were revolutionary. I loved them. Better contact, and crazy low dispersion. I want these things in all my clubs but they're damn expensive sadly.

    Cool video with swing weight but in order to be a true Bryson Dechambeau shaft it needs to be the same length for each club. Sounds like you might need to do another video for that. 💪

    • @jagpilotohio
      @jagpilotohio 4 года назад +1

      Double Dogleg Golf ...and they need to be much heavier and FAR, FAR, stiffer than the model he has in this video. The shafts he is using in this video are the same maker but completely unrelated to “what Bryson uses”. LA golf makes a full range of shafts for “regular” golfers. Brysons shafts are freaks of science...Prototypes which only a tiny percentage of golfers could ever consider using.

    There’s still this bad reputation of graphite shafts from yesteryear , today’s graphite shafts are nothing like those of the past , they are stronger ,lighter and more consistent and accurate , they can match swing weights to your old steel irons . Currently gaming steelfibers i95 stiff and they are more accurate and consistent than the project x 6:5 , kbs tour stiff ,DG x 100s , I’ve tried them all in the same heads , some are good , some feel like they are hard work , others just go all over the place , these steelfibers blow them away , they feel easy to hit , you can feel the head weight a little more , that’s how I feel , but the dispersion and consistency front to back blew me away , they are not old man shafts any more , they are scoring tools .

    Glad they work for you. I got fitted at Club Champion with the LA Golf Tour AXS 85R shafts from 5 iron through all my wedges. Seemed to give me good data on the simulator/Trackman…But, after playing them on the range with real grass/playing with them for 5 months, they are absolutely terrible. Unlike you, I’m unable to feel the club, the head, the club face, etc…absolutely numb (I’m guessing we may have had them dialed to different swing weights…mine were D3). It got so bad, I switched to Project X LZ 6.0 shafts that are 120g (45g heavier), and they are sooooo much better. I’m not a fast swinger (driver is 100mph, 7 iron about 80), but these shafts just don’t do it for me…So, I’ll have a set of them for sale soon if someone is looking for some!! I paid $135 per shaft plus $35 per shaft to get pured! For comparo, my Project X LZ shafts were $35 per shaft…The LAGs just aren’t doing it for me.

  • @MichaelSeward-en3qo
    @MichaelSeward-en3qo Год назад

    Do you think every steel shaft manufactured is going to improve your contact/ dispersion/distance? Of course they're not. Neither is every graphite shaft. Do you have any idea how the process to fit a Tour pro lasts? It never ends, ongoing, all the time. As an amateur, you are defined by how you swing a club, and that means many different things to many different people. If you want to play golf for a lifetime, you need a swing for a lifetime, smooth tempo, good hip turn/ body rotation...effortless. You should want high launch/high spin. Most amateurs don't have 100 mph plus swing speeds, and those that do are all over the map in categories that matter, GIR/FIR. Today's graphite is not your grandfather's graphite, but with all the various manufacturer's out there, you need a patient fitter to help you make a wise choice. Hitting a dozen balls off a mat with a fitter who might be juicing his Trackman to convince you to buy something is not going to cut it. I prefer graphite over steel for many reasons, feel/tempo/dispersion/less ache and pain. If all you're going to do is compare costs, then go grab a set of sticks off Ebay and stop wondering how to improve because it will never happen.

  • @jefftalbot8371
    @jefftalbot8371 4 года назад

    Dude it’s not only about the length of shaft. Once you pull your club 1/4 way back you are no longer hitting it like Bryson. He keeps all his angles through his swing which is a total departure to what you are doing, you are wasting you time. You don’t have the swing. Before you totally screw your game up go back to standard shafts. You will get into pull hooks and huge blocks, just like Bryson did during US Open 2020 on Saturday. Fixed his swing.

If you're a high handicap that's looking to have some fun and not have your elbow hurt after the round, then yeah stock TM Fuji is fine for that and will work just fine. You are absolutely not using “Bryson DeChambeau’s shafts”. You are using the same NAME BRAND as Bryson uses. LA golf. His shafts are a prototype that are very nearly as heavy as the heaviest steel shaft and FAR stiffer. They are stiffer than the stiffest steel shaft ever mass produced, the true temper X7, which almost no one is strong enough to use. Here is a quote from LA golf that makes his shafts:
    “We believe this will be an ongoing process, and will continue to fine tune the shafts to meet Bryson’s performance requirements. The current wedge and 4-iron shaft are both around 120 grams. The 4-iron shaft is slightly softer overall and in the tip than the wedge. Although they are 10-15 grams lighter than the TT DG X7 they are nearly a full flex stiffer and are lower in torque than his previous X7 shafts.”
    Simply put. They are very heavy and very very very stiff. Graphite shafts can be made in a vast variety of weights and flexes and tip torques. MOST common graphite iron shafts are lighter than traditional steel to allow for faster swing speeds, but there are “players” graphite iron shafts that are heavier that deliberately mimic steel, but also offer shock dampening properties that help the joints. I happen to use a set.

    Great video , but I can’t believe how the prices have gone through the roof I’ve played with graphite shafts for years and they used to be about fifty British pounds a set more than steel, but since Nike stoped making clubs the prices have gone ballistic and people just seam to except it golf will sone be out of the reach of every day people and that’s a shame ,I believe it’s just greed by manufacturers they will keep charging what they can get away with .

    People tried using graphite shafts in irons 30 years ago. didn't work so well then so I'm surprised they work now

    Hey Mr shortgame love your video's. Question about the T200 irons. I got a fitting and was fitted into the T200's. Handicap 9 and tbh I didn't really like the look of the T200's. I obviously hit them pretty well. I've held off buying my new set of irons during lockdown and am quite keen on a set of P770's...haven't hit them yet though. Any advice you can give about the T200's?

    My old Hogan Irons from the 1990s are Graphite. I have only odds, but the 7 and 9 are great. I have a tougher time with the 5 and the 3, but I always chalk that up to my technique.

    When I built my new irons I put all graphite. I have Graffaloy red shafts in mine and I love them. I am still using a stiff so the feel is about the same with the hit but like you said I can feel the weight of the head more which I like at the bottom of the club path. I made the mistake of not buying enough shafts to redo my wedges however as I was not replacing those so they still have the original steel shafts. I am going to have to look for some matching shafts and do my wedges as well. Nice video and welcome to the graphite club. Pun intended.

    I need to win the lottery. Then I can get a fitting for all the new graphite shafts. Maybe a new home sim setup too with Trackman, lol. Keep up the good work Matt, enjoy your vids.

    Just switched from old steel irons to Mavriks with stock graphite. My dispersion is tighter. Like you I like to feel the club head more. I’m glad I made the switch.

    So how expensive was all these changes and time spent with fitter. Most of us would love to get properly fitted but it's to dang expensive so we just play what we got.

    I had one inch added to my putter and now after twenty eight years I once again love it. The old pro had shortened it too much and I didn’t like bending over that much. The NY Golf Center at W 35 street in Manhattan gave me grips that were a little thicker in the middle of the grip. I’m still testing them. I figure since I push with the right hand ,a slightly thicker grip where my right hand is ,may encourage a better striking of the ball. Right now the grips are only on my 3 & 5 woods(metal).

    I used graphite shafts in all my irons, I would be a high handicapper with a decent swing speed, but I love feeling the head in the swing. There is a lot of snobs out there when looking at steel vs graphite, however 70% of golfers should be using them.

    Great video, surprising they fit you into an 85 gram graphite shaft but then again that is the purpose of a fitting. People have these preconceived notions of what should work for them and they are almost always wrong.
    I went for a driver fitting and I left there with a set up I would’ve never come up with on my own. In the past whenever i would buy a driver I would immediately put it in the max forgiveness or anti slice setting and 10.5 degrees. After being fit for the right shaft the fitter put the club at 9 degrees with the heavy weight forward (least forgiving, low spin) setting and I have never been more consistent with that club.
    As far as graphite is concerned the tolerances they are able to achieve in there manufacturing is miles ahead of what can be done with steel. The result is a product with near perfect weight and a product that can also be Pured. That is a massive factor and will make your consistency go through the roof.

    What are the weight of the shafts in your irons. Are the shafts in your wedges specifically for wedges or did you soft step a PW or 9 iron shaft?
