I literally wasn't sure about importing davinci resolve timlene in premiere but randomly checked on the internet and found this... Thanks it really saved so much time.
Merci beaucoup ! Grace à ton tuto, tu as pu sauver notre projet !!! Merci infiniment !
You're a gem mate
Awesome video, thank you! Quick tip for resizing the videos: instead of dragging the scale slider until it's just right you can right click on the clip in the timeline and then click "Set to Frame Size" and it will auto-scale it to the sequence settings.
Bruh....how the F**K did I not know about this?!?!
thank you!!!!!! solved my problem in 2 minutes :)
cool video thank u so much for explaining
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for that!
Thank u
its helped me a lot. thank u
Thanks !!!
Thanks 👍
thank you man
Thank you! I started a big project in Resolve and finally admitted it was the wrong time to migrate from Premiere.
lol, i understand!
this is me right now!
Yes, resolve is crazy buggy. I figured I'd better cut my losses and get out early.
What do you mean "buggy"?@@ursfrei1
@@ursfrei1 "crazy buggy"...... What are you, an Adobe fanboi? PP literally has a name for itself for crashing. I've used DR for years and it's been fairly stable in all those years.
Hi Thank you, id the fotaage was RAW in Davinci, what format will the clips be saved as to import into Premiere? I assume they will not be RAW files anymore
Thanks
Thanks Josh, All worked except for the credits/text on screen. That showed just as empty windows. Any fixes there???
Tnk
Question for you! We shot on black magic and my DP gave me raw DNG files. Premiere won't let me import them and apparently I have to do it thru Resolve first. Is there a way for me to do this without putting all of the raw clips into a resolve timeline then importing into Premiere? Thanks in advance for your help
Is there a way to keep audio and video tracks of a file linked? for some reason in Premiere they look like independent clips so moving one does not move the other
What about the media files if you are sending it to someone else who wants to TAKE a project from DVR into Premiere?
Hey man, my problem is that the grading won't transfere to premiere, what could I be doing wrong?
Mine is the opposite. I'm not doing any corrections in premiere, yet it shows up graded in premiere when I import the timeline
how about davinci resolve to adobe premiere rush ?
Cool video but in my experience you will lose a good bit of quality when scaling your 1080p to 4k and instead should revers the order!
Hi
Im sending the xml from my davinci to a friend via email. When my friend imports it in her laptop in her primier pro none of the files can be located in her primier pro. Even if she have tried linking media individually for each files it doesn't work.. We are working remotely, though, we have the exact same files in same folder names in our respective hard drives
Why does Premiere import the videos? I have an issue trying to export DaVinci resolve timelines into Premiere Pro... I know it's a different situation , but I'm desperately trying to find a solution
My editor uses Premiere and I use Da Vinci. We both have a hard drive with the exact same footage. I do selections in Da Vinci Resolve and export my timelines for Premiere using XML. The idea is that my editor could import those timelines to finalise the edit in Premiere Pro. The problem is, when the editor imports the XMLs, it creates duplicated footage in the bins and lots of issues. Do you have a solution for this?
thank you~
I like the random Jordan Peterson clip in the end. 😂
Super gross
Hang on, you're scaling you clip to 150+ , Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't that be horrendously pixelated?
Would it not make more sense to run a 1080 timeline, or am I missing something?
I was wondering this, too, haha
yea you have to reverse the order, scale the 4k footage down to fit the 1080p timeline to avoid intense quality loss
Thanks so much for this, Josh!! Two minutes and you managed to explain more than any of the ten minute long videos I watched. One question: I've successfully imported my Resolve timeline into Premiere 2022, and everything plays through and works beautifully...but none of the clips are graded. It's like the grade wasn't baked in and didn't transfer over with the clips. Any thoughts? Did I skip a crucial rendering step?
P.S. I tried the old method of exporting the Premiere XML from the Resolve deliver page earlier and Premiere wouldn't let me import the resulting XML, it gave me one of those "generic import error" messages. Your method worked much better, except for the issue with the grade not copying over to Premiere. Thanks again for the video and let me know if you have any ideas where I went wrong or what I could try to fix it :P
I have the same problem. For simple videos I just end up exporting media, but that seems inefficient.
@@mndoci My highly inefficient workaround has been (don't laugh, I'm really this stupid + desperate lol) to give up on getting it back into Premiere and just work with my .psd files separately in Premiere and After Effects for my motion graphics, then export and bring the resulting .mp4 into Davinci where I'm finishing the project. Primitive. But the deadline looms and I couldn't figure it out, hahaha.
@@SarenaFishman ha! I ended up doing something similar. Since I am just doing this for my own hobby projects, asking the question if I should just do everything in Resolve. Some of the issues I had run into a couple of year ago when I had first tried seem to have gone.
i think its because both premiere and davinci has a difference on the color grading, i also noticed that my adjusted audio from davinci has 0 adjust in premiere, pure flat audio, even tho i used keyframe on davinci
I was just about to type this question! Would be great to find a way to figure this out!
Is there any way to migrate an entire project not only a timeline? Is not working for me, the clips have lost the audio sync.
thank you. I cant believe how awful Da Vinci is for the end user when the goddamn "export premiere xml" output dumps out video files when all I want is the xml and the video checkbox is unchecked. THIS was what I wanted. but of course its buried in the menu instead of clearly in the UI.
I imported the xml file in premiere and it seems to have lost the qualty and colors are washed out
The davinci colourgrading doesn't Show up in premiere pro after xml import. Footages still looks raw. How do I fix it
you will need to export luts for each clip and apply that lut in premiere to either a correction layer with lumetri or on that specific clip with a lumetri effect added on it
for some reason it consolidated the clips together if they are from the same source clip. I've made over 300 subclips in Resolve and exported into Premiere. there are just 123 clips, even though the timeline length is the same and nothing is lost. but it doesn't work for me since i like to have all my short excerpts in the Project panel as separate thumbnails in order to hiver scrub over them and playback what i have. and to organise them using the Freeform view. a really great visual way to work. unfortunately something is broken either in Resolve or Premiere so it consolidates the clips together
same problem here in 2023
@@Guikri same problem plz help
same problem plz help
It didin't work for me. When I try to import the XML file in Premiere, it says the file is damaged. Too bad.
NOPE! Exporting the time line does not work.
This is good, but doesnt work if you have multi cam :( please help!
Hey, I just found a way! Not as good as it could be but maybe good enough: When you imported the fcpxml to Davinci you have to select all Clips in the Timeline, rightclick and select "Flatten Multicam Clip", then you select all again, rightclick on it and select "Decompose in Place > Using Clips only" and NOW you can export it like in the video above. When you import it in Premiere now it will at least have all the clips and the cuts of the edit which can still be moved. Unfortunately it is not a multiclip anymore, but its better than everything else I tried. All the Clips are synced and you can re-edit it. Maybe this works for you as well, for me it is a solution :D
@@Lucia-jc1lu brother please help me out... I cut a musicvideo in davinci, which was a mistake I think.. the option decompose in place is not there.. when I want to import the xml file it says: GENERAL ERROR DURING IMPORT
when i moved my davinci project to premiere it didnt bring over the color correction?
It only brings over the edit. Export the video in DaVinci as a prores 422 and lay it on top if your
premiere track.
DOESNT WORK
Thanks for the video, it was really helpful!
PS: I hope the project that you were exporting wasn't plagued with Russian propaganda nonsense like “Kyiv is the mother of Russian cities” and wasn't trying to justify Russian imperial view on Kyiv and Ukraine as a whole. Cheers.
The fact there's a JP clip is a big red flag
@@firstname405 Why?
Yet another unhelpful video on this subject. It transfers...kinda. It's a mess.
anyone else using Davinchi thinking, "dang, this is crap."? I am going to have to switch back to Adobe just to get anything done.
That's me right here
Nah
I think you're the only one... Most of people I see moving to DaVinci, Stay with DaVinci. Much better performance and handling of files. Better free effects. No plugins needed. Efficient and pro.
The only thing that you can't do in DaVinci, is rearrange your workspace as you want. And it's not a good point for editors. But it's the only one
@@directed_by_fab3374 I am now using Magix Vegas Post and It seems okay. Thanks for your reply.
