Magnaflow 14” Vs. 18” 5.3 Silverado

- I do three different cold start comparisons in this video.
The first is a 14" Magnaflow with single in dual pipes coming out the back straight out.
The second is the same 14" Magnaflow muffler, just cut the pipes off and threw some turn downs on it.
The third is a single in single out 18" magnaflow with 3" tubing.
I am currently running the 18" setup.
The 14" duals did not have much drone on highway.
the 14" turn downs had alot of drone on the highway.
the 18" has no drone on highway.

My truck is a 2011 Silverado 5.3. It has a 4" Fabtech 07-13 kit on it, Pro Comp 7069 17x9 -6, and . 295/70/r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. All the setups sounded fine even with afm in my opinion. My least favorite was the turn downs.

Does the 18 in have a deeper tone than the 14 in?
How much louder is the 14 vs the 18 when run out the back? I don't want to wake anybody up but if I'm buying a muffler i want to at least feel like I'm actually driving a truck

Thanks for the video. Debating a 14 or 18 currently for a Tahoe. Just want a little more than stock, not too loud. How much louder is the 18" compared to stock ?
A good amount louder then stock

@@airuzair2424 I waited, and found a Corsa Touring muffler and tip for it on FB Marketplace. Just waiting for my friend to bend me some different pipes for it. I have a 12" Aero Turbine resonator for it if I needed too quiet it some.
@@airuzair2424 I'll make a video clip once I get it on, hopefully in the next week or so. I wanted a Corsa, but a milder one. This should sound good with the resonator added to it.
What's the part number for the 14" magnaflow muffler?

Which one drones less?
During normal city driving and highway combined?
I know this is an older post, but the 14" will have more drone... 14" is a little louder but higher pitched/crackly more like a flowmaster, I've had both and much prefer the deep throaty rumble of the 18"...I will never put anything other than a 18" magnaflow on any of my future pickups, I get compliments all the time on how good my pickups sound, and the 18" is the perfect exhaust if you like in deep and loud when you want it to be, but calms down alot when traveling down the highway when you don't want it annoying the hell out of you, the wife and the kids inside the cab

Joe Cozzo I had 14” duals then cut them off to do the turn downs and it was just too loud. So I went with an 18” an a reg tailpipe
