    Random idea for those who know they should be eating mushrooms but who just don't like them, one of those little cans dumped into the blender of dressing gives you your serving while disappearing into the dressing with out much trace

    I'm going to try these - I haven't mastered salad dressings at all. I love seeing that I'm not the only one that repurposes my glass jars. I use the glass salad bottles from grocery store dressing when I'm feeling fancy, which isn't often lol. I'm not knocking cashews, I could live on them, but I find tofu usually does a good sub if you don't have cashews or want the calories/fat. Thanks! PS I make a similar peanut dressing but add sriracha or hot sauce to it for an extra kick.

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  9 месяцев назад

      You can use white kidney beans in pretty much any recipe that calls for cashews! (It won't be quite as creamy, so sometimes I still use a small amount of cashews in addition, but that's optional.) In this video, I also have a recipe with chickpeas as the base: ruclips.net/video/wbpxVZi3aTs/видео.html 😀😀

    Hey, Maddie! How are you doing? Thanks for these dressing ideas :) BTW, I tried using silken tofu for a ranch dressing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend doing that. Blech! ;P I'm sure you know that tofu is like a black hole of flavor...no matter how much extra spices and salt I used, they just seemed to get absorbed. Also, the texture was not great. Oh, well, good to know, right? I'm trying to make buddies cashews, so I can use those, instead.

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  6 месяцев назад

      Oh no! 😆😆 Well thanks for doing the experiment for us! Sometimes I do half white beans and half nuts, that might work as well but if you did notice taste with tofu you may not find the beans as yummy as plain nuts. And I think I mentioned sunflower seeds to you before? That is good for those with cashew allergies. 😊

    • @JazzedatHome
      @JazzedatHome 6 месяцев назад

      Oh, yes!! You're welcome and I do love a good experiment! I don't super love the flavor of sunflower seeds, unless they're in a trail mix, but yes, you did mention that trick, before, and thanks for the reminder that that's an option. I can imagine trying half white beans and half nuts. I haven't given up on cashews, just yet, and I still have a little bit left. There's also tahini, which I just got a little jar of. I might try making a plant-based Caesar dressing with one of those options. We'll see. Anyway, I hope you are well. Blessings! - Claire @@LetsEatPlants

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  Год назад +2

      Hi Cynthia! Dressings with fresh veg elements like the cauliflower or corn are probably best within 3-4 days. Something like a cashew cream usually lasts 5-7. 😄 Good question about the lemon juice! I usually juice a bunch of lemons at once (a dozen or so) and you can either refrigerate or freeze. What is the issue with healthy oils like olive oil or avocado oil?

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  2 года назад

      Great question! A lot of the plant based doctors such as Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Klaper, Dr. Greger and Dr. McDougall all have said that it is quite harmful to health (not to mention the fact that it is the most calorie dense food- meaning using just a tiny amount will be a lot of calories). If you do a google search or RUclips search for any of their names + no oil you can hear them speak on all the specific reasons as well. 😊😊 I do still use oil on occasion, but I have reduced it quite a bit since learning about the negative health effects.

      @LetsEatPlants  Год назад

      @@eBroncos I do stir it in because it helps the tahini to be the right consistency. (Same like with natural peanut butter.) I suppose you could pour it out but the consistency might be off. Up to you! 😊

      @@eBroncos I’m also pretty sure I’ve heard plant based docs (even the no oil ones) also say it’s ok to mix it in. ☺️☺️

    Can you use reg. Peanut butter, and if so how much?

      You can! The recipe is in the description box and includes the substitution for regular peanut butter. 🤗

      I don't know where the description box is😮

      @@wendirobinson6853 Oh no! Sorry about that. It's right below the video, and above the comments. You'll see something that says *...more* and you click that box. Here's a tutorial about how to find it as well: ruclips.net/video/-aVqWSv7NEI/видео.html
      If you still can't find it, the sub is 1/3 cup regular peanut butter (and you will likely need a bit of water to thin it out). But definitely try and learn how to use the description box, as many creators will put their recipes there! 😊

    I don’t get the point of this video. Oils are not unhealthy. Use unsaturated fats. Maple Sirup despite being “natural” will spike your blood sugar levels. Eat everything you like but in moderation and you’re good to go.

      The point is to show oil-free options, as many people who eat Whole Food Plant Based are trying to reduce their oil intake. 😊
