Really great talk, the dude in the black though (on the right) was quite distracting though, he seemed to always interject mid-convo with subtle underlying motivation to push the professor/author into a biased view. Was this supposed to be a subjective talk or him solely talking about history?
Yes he's an incredible bonehead... Imagine having to ask if the Armenians are Christian... Or getting prepared to get upset if the sacred word 'holocaust' gets applied to their genocide.
These 2 hosts open with saying they're only recently and vaguely acquainted with both Morris' work and the topic of 1948... and then go on to constantly interrupt and contradict a world-renowned historian on the topic when he alludes to things they don't like. How embarrassing.
Yeah, these two guys should just sit down, shut up and ask thoughtful questions without interrupting. They are trying to talk like it’s a first date with a girl they are trying to impress, and failing. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, just shut up. So annoying watching this crap.
The guy on the right is a clown. Just wanted to Benny to reinforce his talking points and views. Obvious he doesn’t know the actual history but just talking points. Surprised how objective Benny is, kudos to him.
18:00 Benny Morris lied, Arafat did not turn down the two state solution he just did not accept to abandon east Jerusalem which was illegally occupied during the 1967 war, I mean I respect Benny but that one was a clear lie!
dumb decision. Arafat would have become the Arab Rabin - the Jihadis would have killed him if he accepted an Israeli State. He chose to play both sides against the middle and make billions of $ - Simple.
How can purchasing land be ever considered stealing? What was the difference if any between the: The palestinian entity and the palestinian mandate? of which Jordan occupies 2/3 and colonalised by the Heshemites? How can a desolute land sustain 700,000.?

Before Benny was a historian the way the story was told was in such a way that all of the displaced people were said to have left either of their own accord or because Arab leaders told them to. That is what he was calling a myth. One of the reasons he is a famous historian is because he brought to light documents and histories which showed that the old narrative was false and that Israel actually did at times force some people to leave
@brianmacadam4793 Benny gave the examples to show that the general myth had a core of truth. These examples were the exception, not the rule; but, such exceptions begat myth. So the original generally applied Israeli narrative was false, but that does NOT lead to the Arab narrative, that a generally applied ethnic cleansing was the rule

Yeah...no thanks. Face it, Israel ain't budging, the best the Palestinians can do is negotiate for an autonomous republic within the State of Israel for the West-Bank and cherish the independence Gaza may gain if they play their cards right.

The guy in the right side is irritatingly interrupting senselessly..a jerk
If a country attacks you, you are legally allowed to take their land. I am not a lawyer or historian but I know this.
That isn't a law for simple fact that anyone can claim that he was attacked and steal land
You aren't justified in ethnic cleansing
Yeah and if you're Israeli you can also attack first and then say you were attacking because they were going to attack first.
Complete fiction. You do know that, apart from being wrong, this would justify Palestinian attacks on Israel?

Listened to Morris, but definitely blocking this arrogant troll with no home training’s channel for this reason. Nice guy? Not so much.
Why do the hosts keep interrupting him? It’s REALLY annoying to listen to!

Benny makes the statement the Arab leadership did not encourage Arabs to leave, and then gives a number of examples of Arabs doing just that.
