- So we got the first truly major Balance Patch just launching for Tekken 8, so in proper fashion for the channel, lets dig into everything in detail! Some characters got a little, some got a lot, some will be waiting for the 1.05 balance patch (this is 1.04) but still, its gonna shake up the game for sure!

So the big patch is now live! As you would expect, lets go into some detail on it covering a lot of the big notes. PATCH NOTES ARE IN THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION so make sure to check that out, doubly so cause im not covering every single bug fix and minor hitbox/hurtbox change(vid is already 50 minutes!) so if you want every smallest detail thats there for ya. That said good patch, The "villains" got nerfed (although honestly I feel like Feng is gonna barely feel it), new low tier heroes like Leroy and Zafina emerge with some serious buffs, and a bunch of stuff inbetween so dig in, like if ya liked it, and let me know what you think!

Solid patch, and for the characters that didn't really get much the upcoming 1.05 patch down the road will cover them. Big fan of the Leroy changes in particular, I always like when a character has "Go ahead and block, chip is fine by me" as a gameplan and they doubled down on it. Now thats said though stay tuned to the channel, we might have something extra fun for you tomorrow night!
Zafina is turning into that "go ahead and block, chip is fine by me" character. She needs an identity in 8. And yes Im still azu main 😂
You forgot the biggest bear buff, they improved heat roll hitbox, now bear have the ability to use heat roll d1+2 as an ender for every launcher they have giving them a 22 unscaled damage ender if you cant reach a wall

One extrea thing on Leroy: the heat regen on hit with any chain punch, even ground pound, is INSANE
Lionheart 1+2 also being a normal hit launcher is nice

As a Kuma main, i gotta say, when i read the patch notes, i gotta admit i was sad. i didn't think giving Kuma one thing (the hunting stance grab now gets rid of white life) would be all that. but it's actually amazing. played online after patch dropped and Kuma is now a chip damage monster.
I main Shaheen, erasing white life is a damn menace, especially if you can keep yours and get a heat engager off. Turns out Tekken is a lot easier when you have like 50% more health than your opponent

How do you think he is now? I wanted to try him but I don’t like playing characters that are overly strong (I’ll play a strong or hard or easy character but broken ones are boring to me)
@@volktol4432 Still oppressive, can still run the game plan. He just got his (pretty extensive) options slightly more limited is all.
@@volktol4432more fun to play, as it’s more rewarding to now use mor of his kit. Defiantly needed to be toned down. From playing him in ranked it seems that you can actually interact with him more in neutral. Plus when the side step buffs come along he’ll be hit hard by that due to his kits linear tendency.

I don't really care about the so called "broken" moves, but hitting a counter hit 1+2 is my equivalence to Steve B1
i started with azucena and il stick with azucena. i like trying new characters, but she s my main, nerfs or buffs

With the nerf to the grab launchers' startup, I'm gonna miss being able to use them as a launch punish against most armored mids, (there are still a couple exception it can work on) but I understand why they made that change.
I'm gonna have some playing around with the new bear buffs. I got a friend who says he's gonna try learning Leroy after his new buffs, and another who will do the same with Zafina.

hey Rooflemonger, just wanted to point something out on the Leroy segment of the video, the buff towards the chain punches in heat where you recover some heat gauge is actually on hit only rather than on block. I saw King Jae's video covering it earlier today and thought id shed some light on it. If im wrong anyway then nevermind of course but otherwise, great video overall dude!
well i dont think thats the case cause then otherwise I wouldn't be able to heatdash when its done on block as shown in the vid? You couldn't do that pre-patch

I didnt read patch notes cuz I searched for shaheen things (first game picked him for w/e reason lol) and i wanted to pick up a new character so i was trying zafina and was like "wow she feels really good this is nice" Watching this video i now understand lol

last couple days were rough not gonna lie, after i posted this i passed out from exhaustion, got a few more things to do in the next day or so then after that im prob gonna try to take a day or two off
As a Azucena main I’m upset with the frame change to 21! That was my default to mashers and block checks after conditioning with 21. The last hit 212 would get the knockdown or wall stun! I used 11 occasionally but normally poked with 1 then into the 21 pressure.
Everything else I can deal with especially since I wasn’t much of a running 32 spammer.
Can't wait to test the patch out later, the changes seem promising.
34:03 I may not play the bears myself, but since Tekken 5 I've always wanted them to have subtle differences in function - like Kuma having better normal hits while Panda has better counter hits for example.
Let's hope they do more to differentiate the two from each other in the future.
The patch notes say Jun is likely to be buffed in 1.05, not nerfed.

Raven detail after patch - they improve tracking in db21 but....now 1 in db21 sometimes whiff after wall splat. Also in some combos like Low parry ff3 db21 41 bt21f cd12 now this comb drop ... So they broke one if most important move for this character (there are also several issues they implement for this character after this patch but all are conected with db21)

I'm still going to main Dragunov even with the nerfs he's still my favorite I was playing today and I noticed the difference but I was still able to play well and I ranked up to mighty ruler

As a Bryan main thank God they buffed Bryan’s heat state. It was pretty useless minus getting snake eyes after a wall combo can’t wait to see what I can do with this.

I was concerned about if this would change and it didn't; you can still do forward dash Muscle Buster by doing qcb, ff, b+1+2; but now you should no longer randomly get it if you do something like d/b,b+1+2 because you go from blocking low to trying for irish whip.

basically all fixed minus some new minor bugs that this specific patch introduced, which will be fixed in the next patch lol. Filed under bugfix so I didn't wanna harp on it in the vid

Jun received the nerf hammer with *permanent* self- damage. Meanwhile Zafina is laughing with this patch.
Hold on, how is it a mixup if you can you go for the mid to crush in lionheart, does it not make it guaranteed or can i actually interrupt?
Also paul players be suffering.
the mixup is if you hit any button, or do anything at all, or try to duck, LH 1 wins, it beats everything but blocking. If you block, then guardbreak wins and free damage, simple as that.

Maybe I’ll finally go back to my first main in this game with a balanced Azucena. I loved playing her but she felt too braindead-which is probably why I switched to Nina.

Leroy requires being a bit defensive to get benefit. The types to chase those characters for power likely don't get the "using your brain" part :O

Dragunov main here. I'm not happy with the nerffs, however I'm satisfied that he wasn't destroyed. The result is that as my main I need to be a bit more creative to get wins.
His usage is going to bottom out now, because everyone was relying on his power to get wins.

Idk why some people are saying Feng got off easy, I feel like these are pretty significant. I think the games in a pretty solid state. He’s still good obv. Cool Bryan changes also
I dunno I like feng and like these are not nothing nerfs, but his kit is so amazing and 95% of it wasnt touched. Plus the fullcrouch df41 is basically more of a bugfix than a nerf, its utterly fair.
@@rooflemonger yeah tbh I thought they were gonna make the fc df4 a stagger on block like the beta. I think that would’ve been fair. I like Feng too but no denying he’s still strong 😂. I think a simple balancing would be demolish his combo dmg which the uf3 nerf did a bit but I think going back to his old archetype of just only being a poke god would be sick
