This was my first tournament and ofcourse went 0-2 but stayed to watch these amazing pros. Instantly became a fan of Trojan and JoeCrush. Hope to play against them one day.
I went 0-2 at my first tournament as well and a couple of the next ones after that. Not trying to make this about me but wanna let you know that most people’s journey in tournaments starts off with losing

I always wanted to learn how to play video games, but I end up doing sports. Even in undergrad and grad school I had a chance people wanted to teach me . I just couldn't do it. I think I just don't have the attention span to learn. I will say I do like the tournaments because of the commentary , they do a great job. Also a big shout out to lil Majin . I like his channel. I hope he does another tournament one day .

It's when you do a move mid combo that makes the other character do a flip over mid air so you can get extra hits

Looking forward to when this game is in a much Bett state that allows for more nuanced, interesting and fun gameplay ( for both players and spectators).
The big june patch with changes to core mechanics ( homing throws, Heat Dash, heat burst etc) will hopefully deliver that.
Tekken 8 vanilla time will finally be over and not short enough it was 😅.

idk, chainsaws ain't all THAT good. They're annoying, but just like all other block pressure, you just gotta be patient and learn the right spots to go in.

Joe crush needs to use rage art when ever alisa is plus frame. The ammoujt of time he couldve stole the round was insane. Alisa was pressing every time she is plus frame. The while running 1 from alisa, she was pressing right after and joe crush can rage art. Or simply just use it cause alisa player was not respecting RA.
I love how my main Jun is getting nerfed, but they don’t shit to Alisa. I never see Jun in top 8s but I have seen Alisa in multiple top 8s in tournaments.

I noticed that too! The format for this Evo was bizarre though. No sound and no music might have chilled the commentators' abilities.
I thought I was the only one. The evo commentators were having a bit too much fun, and not enough play by play and analysis during a match.
To each their own. I switched to a watch along so I didn't have to hear them on either

In reality, 70% of the cast is broken. Every character has there own OP gimmicks. Old guard is failing and losing coz they still have T7 muscle memory and everybody is playing against the top tier ghosts.
This add with the fact that the characters are S tiers OP and can take 80% of your life with a bad guess, means we will see more new winners and new characters in tourneys.
This will keep on until the old guard finally adapts to the T8 crowd and those who cant, will be left behind in the dust.

Love watching NA and EU tournaments, so much character variety in top 8s. EVO Japan was all Dragunov, Feng, Alisa and Law. Straight up tier whoring snooze fest.
Wtf are you on about? Top 8 was Steve and dragunov (lowhigh), Lili (chikurin winner), Alisa and zafina (chanel), 2 laws (mangja and double), Nina (infested), 2 eddy (jeonding and Tekken master).
No Feng and 1 dragunov for 1 match.
That's 8 different characters in top 8.
Meanwhile this tournament was all Lili, Nina and Alisa. The only unique one was Anakin with jack. Which id rather not see ever again, one of the most boring characters.. alongside king.
@@kato093 there was no top 8 at evo Japan dumbass zero Eddys were in top 6. Steve was used one round and low high changed back to Dragunov. Infested got bodied and dumped out of top 6 immediately without winning one set by a Dragunov and Law both broken top tiers. Zafina used one round and Chanel switched back to Alisa. Lmaooo shit was boring. You’re not gonna sit here and convince anyone that shit wasn’t ass. Carry on fkn stranger.

Dastry VS Obscure, Dastry was winning, and someone had to coach her, which caused her losing two games on coaching 😂. When a player is winning, don’t coach them to change their tactics, which is just asking for the worse. There’s a saying for a very good reason: “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.”
