Idk of many people did, but I really thought that the independent thievery quests were great, because I actually had to be a thief and steal stuff before I could do a job. It felt very realistic, like a how a gang of thieves would work in real life

I've always liked the Mazoga quest, because at low levles you can make quite alot of gold. Once you get the quest to kill black brugo, you get a free house, White Stalion lodge, and Caro gives you 100 gold for each black bow ya bring him, and Rockmilk cave is full of blackbow bandits and marauders fighting each other. Tonnes of equipment and decent loot, some of the bandits have magic items!

The name Rockmilk makes me chuckle. I envision a bunch of dudes challenging their mates to prove their manliness by trying to squeeze and drink milk (meaning any kind of liquid) from a solid rock and failing in horrible ways à la Jackass. But there is also poetry in that name, since "milk" could refer to dew or springwater.

@@mrgadwin786 If you use the unofficial patch, it actually adds alternate journal entries referencing that you're the arch-mage. The quest still doesn't change, but alternate entries do make some effort to address the story conflict.

He's answered this in another video - basically it's more organic to just battle through mistakes if possible, it makes for a more entertaining video (imagine if he didn't, it'd be a lot of short boring scenes, with him explaining what he'd cut out and why)

You're a terrible thief.... *Tip* When you are first joining the Thieves Guild, you can max your Sneak skill indefinitely if you sneak and pickpocket Armand during the contest for the diary. Just repeat over and over, and you can reach Expert and more after about 10 min of pickpocket over and over.You wont get a bounty or have problems getting in the guild. As for the contest, yes you lose getting the diary but by this point your skill is high enough that you can practically steal anything and sneak anywhere.

The dialogue doesn't change at all, but instead of trespassing you can just walk in and take it.
