NORM SOLD ME that same model guitar in 1978. I was 16yrs old I rode my skate to he original shop on Tampa and bought it for $450. After looking at all the ones I couldn't afford, Norm showed me the Firebird. It was all the money that I had saved to buy my first car. My pop was gonna match me to get a car. When Norm saw I was bout to carry it while skateboarding, he gave me a case like that one for free. But it was for a reverse that he modified on the spot. I still have the guitar and case. But more beat and modified. And I've since lost the vibrolo bar but have all the other original pieces. And one of the P90 went bad and I put a Seymour Duncan humbucker in the tail position . Bless Norm for giving that skinny black kid on a skateboard the chance to own his first real guitar in doing something him on course for a life of music. Thanks Norm!
whoa , when Michael loves a guitar it really shows , especially when the EVH comes out , killer dude , just owned that axe. Very cool firebird , great color , great look , great sound , I was expecting something more Johnny Winter , or Rick Derringer , but this thing flat our rocks big and loud ,very cool , thanks guys
I just got my copy of Norm's book "Confessions" in the mail today, what a treat! Signed no less & 2 picks form Norman's Rare Guitars to boot!!! Norm you have no idea what something so small means to a 63 year old beginner guitar player! Thanks again, I can't put the book down!
What a gorgeous patina on the wood. I could see why Lemmo took a liking to it since it’s sort of an offset body. But my favourite bits on the guitar are the knobs. They remind me of the knobs that were on a late 50s vintage clock radio that my dad had. It was such a cool looking thing with its retro dials and Bakelite exterior. And it had an outlet that you could plug a coffee pot into so you would have fresh java shortly after you woke up.
As great as that thing sounds with all those P90s, I still don't why Gibson ever bothered making these non-reverse firebirds. They just look so much cooler the other way 'round (and the headstock too). Way to rock it out, Mike!
Vintage Guitars for sale? Yep. I got a 60's teisco del Rey hollowbody, a 60's fender acoustic, an old stella and a 60s Silverstone 12 string. All perfect for Norman's rare guitars! Did I mention I'm in North Carolina? Not that far to pickup....
Thanks for the video, this guitar is sick, i love the mini humbucker sound, they put in them, but I am a P-90 Lover, How much do you want for this one? Cousin Figel
I remember when you couldn't GIVE those guitars away( i know..i had a red one just like that)..everyone wanted the reverse firebird like Clapton and Johnny Winter...
That guitar is a beast. If Gibson put that out with the P90 at the neck and an A2 humbucker at the bridge, put a better bridge or trem unit on it , made it from Basswood or similar to get it priced below $1;500 they would sell millions of them. But Gibson has no vision anymore.
These are the Firebirds I like, with the more rounded edges. Sort of like what Brian Jones played. I think Thurston Moore played one too from time to time.
Great ! Amp LOVES this axe. The Brian Jones/Paul Chapman axe for me. Funny that the story was the reverse Firebird was sued by Fender and Gibson made this which was way more F type. Lately, stories say the law suit didn't happen. Maybe a cease and desist ? Loved "On Fire". Mike lit it up. again, story was Eddie improvised this solo in one take. DLR Yowl fit., Early GP interview. When old demos turned up here and found it was worked up, 'Why am I not Surprised ??" Greatness.

So cool❤
That P-90 tone just flows like lava out of that Fender amp. Definitely put it through it’s paces.
A KILLING MACHINE!
You can always tell when Lemmo is liking the guitar the groove is strong!
That guitar rocks! P90’s breathing fire!
And this guy sells guitars? A group should be formed around Lemmo, what a talent!
Yup And play all the open clubs in COMMIEFORNIA LMAO
He does have a group. Check out the album he put out a while back

That bird is on 🔥
he started with the neck and it screamed i was like what is this bridge going to do and it screamed even harder such a beatifull guitar
dude everytime you bring out a firebird I just drop everything and watch the video at least 3 times in the first day
OMG! C'mon, Norm...this guitar was made for Lemmo. Make him a killer deal on it so it doesn't spend it's life hanging on someone's wall.
i realize I am quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to stream newly released series online ?
@Jared Robert Lately I have been using flixzone. You can find it on google :)

Non Reverses with 3 P-90's are beasts. Lemm((o)) is one talented beast, too.
This was such a great answer to the strat. Crazy how it didn't take off better
Once again. Lemmo Kickin' Ass!
Great guitar for Lemmo.
Oh my God that was crazy Mike. You are a freaking guitar wizard.
Me want....! The coolest guitar ever made!!!
I love the middle pick-up on my 66 Firebird. And the bridge pick-up is sweet and round. My fingers never get exhausted on the 66,
Takes some serious muting skills to control a guitar like that! Perfect guitar for Lemmo great playing!

I just came up with a band name for Lemmo :
“Lemmo and the Offsets” 🤟😎
Vibey means the best and it sure is! Thank you Michael and Jen.
P90’s are quickly becoming my favorite pickup
He definitely sold his soul.
or he absorbed all of the past owners' soul from norms guitar
To the devil
Lol
Michael, you definitely need this guitar. Best I ever heard you play.
Bird, bird, bird is the word
I'd be curious to know what kind of strings he prefers... Fun to watch, as always. Thanks!
I have my 1967 Firebird 3… this video demo did a good job 👏 👍
My favorite Gibson! 😁👍
The tapping part at the end really made it lol. 👍

Loved the demo today, best in while, wasn't a Firebird fan, but I am converted, sounded great.👍👍
Breaking News! Lemmo rocks the Gibson Firebird III!
Those P90 tones are beautiful! I’d love to
see him play a Firebird III studio with a 5 way selector

I prefer the non reverse, the reverse ones look too much like a rounded off Explorer.
A really cool guitar
Great sounding piece. Johnny Winter anyone? Never know when Michael is gonna connect with a guitar.
Just Thanks for that !
friggin awesome......................
Rock on Jimmo !!
Damn Michele! Thanks for whalling on that Firebird. You've got that Mojo in you buddy!

Great review! You’re definitely getting a vibe with that guitar.
Lemmo is my favourite to watch, not only for his talent; but, because he doesn't look like he's choking on a hotdog, while he plays 😏
