- Welcome to 4K Motoring!
After 42000+ miles, it is finally time to replace the OEM General Grabber APT tires that came on our 2018 Nissan Titan XD. Overall, the Generals have been decent tires. They are highway-biased "all terrain" tires that have done well in all weather conditions and in light off-roading scenatios. Down to 6/32 of tread after 42k miles on the Titan XD (~7,000lb- ~400hp), it was time to start looking for a replacement. We settled on our favorite All-Terrain tire, the BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2. Stepping up form a 275/65r18 to a 275/70r18 gave us about a 0.6" sidewall increase while still fitting on our 7.5in OEM wheels. Check it out and let us know what you think!
The video I've been looking for. You explained maximum size and the pro's cons of both. Solid video my man, the tires look great on this truck.
KO2’s look awesome..
Gotta love the date codes!
I have Yokohama G003 MTs in 295/70r18 on a Pro4x with 3” lift which is a 34.5” tire and they look awesome.
Must not be on an XD with the OEM 7.5in rims!
when i did oilfield hotshotting i did like 50 percent highway and 50 percent rough leaseroads and pipeline right of ways. the bfg ko2s were the only tires i had that didnt get punctured or blow out early. i could run them to 4/32. cooper at's didnt last 9k miles. toyo mt didnt last 12k before getting 3 flats and a blowout within a week. ive literally tried every major brand of at and mt. bfg ko2 were the toughest tires. i never stressed about getting blowouts when using them.
Going tomorrow to have the same K02s installed on my 2018 XD diesel 4x4. Looks great on yours. I tow 10k travel trailer up and around Utah, Colorado and Arizona. Hope these will hold up over time. I need more off road traction than what stock Nissan provides.
I noticed the weight ratings on them were slightly higher than the original grabbers, how many miles did you get on your stock tires? With over 42k on my truck I still had about 6/32 of tread left on the grabbers. I'm hopeful that I can match that with the KO2s
How do the Grabber APTs do in rainy conditions and icy conditions?
They never gave me any problems in the rain. Far from dedicated highway tires but plenty of traction. I had them in a little bit of snow and they were adequate but not great
Sweet truck bro
The 70 explains the percentage of the width of the tires translated into the wall height. So 70% of the 275mm is the height of your walls.
You actually have that backwards, 275 is the width of the tread face, the 70 is the aspect ratio or percentage of that width that is the height of the sidewall.
@@4KMotoring exactly what I said. 70% of 275 (the width of the tire) is the height in of the side wall. Not 70mm.
I definitely misread your comment. Correct, the aspect ratio is a percentage, not a specific measurement
God Bless nice truck and very informative!
Thanks for this info🎉
I have a 2019 Pro4X standard version, run 36 psi and have just passed 77,000 miles, about an 1/8 of in from the wear bars. Will change them out to G G ATX.
Will the larger size fit in the spare tire well?
Yes, but you can't go much bigger than that
Are the K02s loader than the General Grabbers?
I've not been able to tell any difference
The K02’s look awesome. What speedo GPS app do you use? Thanks Tom in NC👍
Google Maps
I worked for Cooper Tire for several years .. what I can say is I wouldn’t run a tire past 5 years old ..
That's fair, I know there are several factors with relation to tire aging and wear. 5 years seems like a reasonable window to start looking for new tires
Nissan Titan is an Amazing truck, the only unpleasant experience was when I bough it at the Nissan dealer, that was one of the worst and awful buying experience I ever had.
Nissan definitely has their share of below standard dealerships, no doubt!
where do i get the roll bar you have on the back of the truck (looks bad ass with the word titan on it)and where do I get the mini antenna post and did the step u have on the drivers side rear under the truck come with the truck or you had it installed if so where do I get the step and can I install it myself? thanks
The sports bar and bumper step were Nissan accessories, I installed them myself. Z1 may be your best resource if you can't find any on the used market.

That is the stubby antenna
What exhaust is that?
Nismo
Will those fit on a stock 2023 Pro4x HD? Did you have a lift on the truck when this was filmed?
No lift at all! Stock Pro4X suspension on the Titan XD with no issues!
Awesome, thanks for the response.
Have you had any rubbing in the front wheel wells with the KO2s?
None at all
You'll want to get the Light Truck(LT) version of the KO2s and not the Passenger(P) version.
These are the LT version (load range E). To your point, the XD Titan will definitely require the LT tires, but someone with a regular half ton that does not tow can probably benefit from the "P" passenger version of the tire
@@cmelochick They might benefit from the P version, but the sidewalls are a lot thinner and they wear down a lot faster. I didn’t even get 50k miles out of the P version, versus almost 65k with the LT version; very similar driving and rotations.
can't find the link for the compressor.. anyone can share that with me? thank you

@@4KMotoring thank you 😊
Very nice 👌...
We all just gonna pretend we didn’t hear 65psi???
65 PSI is what the XD calls for....
Load range E on XD. Yes, higher psi.
