Why would they change the name that does represent their brand by now, really? Plus "retribution" just doesn't sound right and is way too transparent, just sound dumb really. Very glad they kept the title simple and striking, because Kingdom Come Deliverance is, a very striking title. Title thats has multitude of fans already, they never did to change anything about the title
There is video in czech for czech audience where they say more thing about developement of second game than was in official presentation. They started to rewriting their tools to make their second game more stable and smoother with less FPS drops (and hopefully less buggy). They also rewrote other systems. Analysed what worked and made it better and redone what didn't worked in first game from start al over. They also had to redone other things for new generation of consoles. Those things took them quite a lot time. Developement of KCDII started 1.st July 2019, so less than 5 years ago.
@@mikkdc I think they planned out the game way before even the first one was released. They initially wanted to make it a trilogy but decided to put the two acts together and released them as the first game. So I think they had the scripts and overall stuff ready for the sequel
@@mikkdc Well there always was Daniel Vávra's timeline, so some basic was known to them long before they started to develope it. If tehere was any sctripts, they were in very rough form tho. But main story was kinda there. Small stories around? No. My gues is while other younger writer did DLC's after first game, Dan Vávra did that rough script - he admited tha he did not nothing in DLC's and let other people grow. But he as main story creator had to do something in that time. And when developement started, he presented them what he did ad together they made it wha it became. Any other work hardly started before that day, because they still repared bugs and created DLC's.

I always love to know more about how the games closest to my heart were developed and thats also why I loved the reveal, where we got snippets of info from the devs. Now we know why they waited so long to reveal the game. They wanted to be able to show us far more than just a little teaser trailer and it was definitely the right decision.
They seem to have taken big inspiration by Red Dead Redemption. Petting your horse, greeting npcs, getting busted out of jail, probably more detailed wild life etc. I love it.
Bomenian paradise (Český Ráj) is an absolutely stunning location and I cant wait to see it translated into the game. This announcement/trailer made me so happy

The combat. I know I keep banging on about it, but it was amazing in KCD, and in THIS?? Wow, it looks so fluid and gorgeous! 2. I am very pleased that they're delving more deeply into the relationship between Henry and Hans this time. Those two are AMAZING together, and I wanted more buddy moments with Hans in the first one, so I can't wait.

When I watched the warhorse promo, and we had Luke greeting Tom on the horse, I cried like a baby. The words. Henry our friend. They helped me through bad times. And I'm over due them in my life again. Henry our friend in hard times, like he was for me 4 years ago. I'm glad he is older, wiser and mature. I am too. We all are. Anyway, the tears are shed and the eyes are dry now. I'm now just just walking with the biggest smile on my face. Because I know Luke and Tom are coming back into my life.

I have no shame in admitting that when you started crying when you first saw Henry and Hans in the reveal trailer I started crying with you. My girlfriend put her hand on my.chest and said what's wrong love? and I appropriately replied with "Henry's come to see us" and she burst out laughing because she knew what I meant as she has played the 1st game. It couldn't have been more perfect. 😂😂😂🤗🤗
Kcd 1 is one of my favourite games ever and I've genuinely haven't been as excited as this for a game in many many years. Hopefully we can blacksmith custom armour and swords etc.

lol I remember having friends over one day and my controller broke playing goldeneye. It was like the year 2000 and I had saved money for majoras mask but had to buy a new controller so I didnt get it. ended up playing at my friends house and Majoras mask first experience was so bad that I bought another game with that money. in 2020 I got it and am still figuring it out to this day
There is also interview with Polish game chanel where they had confirmed that it would be possible to travel between 2 maps: Kutna Hora city and its surroundings, Troski castle with more rural areas (Césky Raj aka Czech Paradise). Imagine if KCD2 had a co-op multiplayer, in which you and a friend can complete the (ever so slightly altered) story mode together as Henry and Hans, with full RP elements.
It's incredible how this is the best presentation any game devs have put out in years. And it's lil ol' Warhorse Studious. Such an impressive effort from such incredibly passionate, skilled people. I can't freaking wait!
My favorite part of the trailer was a release date. And the fact they've been working on the game for six years. Combined with the fact that they didn't change much in terms of core systems and we're busy improving them meaning this will be a better version of the game in every aspect. My favorite game, just BETTER, more polished, more immersive, more beautiful. I am so so happy!

I was so bloody happy to stay behind in work and watch this reveal trailer! Jesus Christ be praised! Henry's come back to see us! What surprised me was how good the combat animations were. It was very, very fluid. Exciting future ahead of us either way. Keep up the great work!

So many times we've sat here watching game show events saying this time they will announce KCD2, but it never happened until yesterday, I also just watched your reaction video and again such an incredible nice gesture from WH, Tom and Luke with the personal intro/outro by Tom and Luke. A small effort from them which clearly meant so much for you.😄 IMO KCD 2 looks amazing, however I do wonder what combat mechanics will be like since they changed to CryEgine. Luke absolutely nailed the "That's me... ouuutt". As for my fave parts of the reveal - it has to be the finding out about the 2 maps - the Bohemian Paradise and the HUGE city of Kuttenberg/Kutna Hora and the throwback to the first game when Henry says he hopes the water isn't too deep. Can't wait to explore! I've also tweeted this to you on X/twitter but I'm fairly sure they guy at 3:04 being projected onto the cathedral ceiling is also the guy between Henry and Hans at 13:41. I could be wrong but they do look very similar.
Im so happy for every fan of KCD. TBH, I had almost given up hope. But those of u who were keeping up the faith are finally rewarded. This year! Wow! Can't wait.
There's very few games I get hyped about, fallout, elder scrolls, gta, red dead. But after kcd I fell in love with it, and knowing kcd2 is coming out I'm honestly so excited, it's going to be an amazing experience.
Another amazing opening as always and Luke is just so the best! First Tom and now Luke just being the best to the community. I really love your thoughts and opinions on all of this and how you break down some bits that we may of missed. Also the "old henry" to me looks more like Radzig but I guess we'll see! It seems like they're adopting an 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' approach. Same title, same main characters, no major changes to the setting. Just more and better of what people loved about the first game, made for more modern hardware and with a bunch of little things that people wanted added in. Seems like the best possible kind of fanservice. Really looking forward to it. The branding scene looks like it might be a really clever way of integrating history with game mechanics. In medieval times people were often branded for first offences or more minor crimes. You could be branded with different letters or symbols representing different crimes. It meant that if you ran off to another town people would still know you were a criminal, and if you got caught committing crimes again, they'd know you were a repeat offender, and would be punished even more harshly. It seems like committing crimes in the game will get Henry branded and change how NPC's react to him, even when he goes to a new settlement.
The map is 2x bigger. And we have new castles to explore so def new characters to meet but we’ll notice some old characters . Story is way longer as well.
I'm absolutely over the moon Roxy! I admit, The last year or so with no news of a sequel has been really hard to digest, at least for me because of how emotionally invested I found myself in this amazing story and characters. They left us on a cliffhanger for awhile but then I watched the reveal with you and I have to say, I am beyond excited for this. I watch the amazing effort put into the reveal like shooting in Kuttenberg with Yan Volta composing an orchestra and choir with projections and such and getting Luke and Tom, and I get that same feeling. This is going to be just as special and I can't wait!
Gotta say, as an amateur armorsmith/weaponsmith, I can't wait to try my hand in game at doing that. I only wish one could truly an accurate feeling of getting metal to "sing". Of course, most people wouldn't care much for that and it's unreasonable to expect such a thing, but I still wish it could be a thing.
I wasn't surprised that there is a sequel. I felt it was a given that even if Warhorse's next game wasn't KCD2, then they'd surely come back to it eventually. BUT I was VERY SURPRISED that not only does it come out THIS YEAR but the scope of the project is incredible! I remember seeing the original Kickstarter back when I was a junior in highschool (grade 11) and wishing I had a part-time job so I could contribute. Seeing how the game developed over the years and how the studio has flourished has been amazing.
German gaming magazine gamestar got some exclusive infos : There will be more bigger battles in Kcd2, there will be a big tunnel system beyond one city and each of the two maps will have about the size of Kcd1.
I am really stoked for the combat system, the bits we saw looked so good. But the thing I liked the most from the trailer was the prayer at the end, it was just brilliant.
My theory is that the title Kingdom Come: Deliverance is specifically Henry's story, and that after his story concludes in this game, the next Kingdom Come will have a different epitaph and different main character.
Maybe, but if done well henry's saga could stretch to a 3rd game which would be insanely cool. I suspect that since we didn't get anything about rattay or radzig which were very prevelent in the 1st game. Nice analysis tho!

Absolutely love the house banners/colors on neck chainmail, absolutely lovely. Actually very curious what they will do with *Pribyslavitz* Going to assume its going back under *Talmberg* supervision but it was a interesting idea, now that Henry is "noble" being the son of a noble lord im rather curious if they give you something like *Pribyslavitz* but differently, responsibility over land or a keep or something like that. Im extremely curious if there will be a awkward scene in *Talmberg* or with the Lady *Stephanie* and sir *Divish* finding out she is with child thats for certain *Henry’s* I know in games like this fighting and combat is extremely good and favored and rightfully so, but i always loved spending hours in nature and roaming the land. Hope hunting and "herbing" is going to be improved aswell. Anyway thank you for reading.
Now I'm more exciting to see which characters from KDC1 will returns in the sequels - Johanka - Fritz , Matthew , Mathias - Father Godwin - Hanekin Hare - Teresa and so on
I’m excited to see how Henry and Hans Capon friendship grow over this game. In the end of the last game it seemed like they both grew to admire and respect each other in a way. It’d be cool to see them fighting side by side this game

Above everything. I hope we get a COMPETENT Henry this time. Not necessarily a full master, but competent in all major skills. Not having to spend the first 20 hours learning to swordplay again ITS A MUST for this new game. Here are a few ideas of how they could easily do that: 1° Let us actually chose an archtype this time. From Henry the Rogue; Henry the Valiant Knight; Or Henry the Archer. Something like this with bonus to each skill associated. 2° Let us choose weapon specializations from the start. Swords, maces, axes, etc. To ease us 8nto combat again this time. 3° Give us GOOD gear from the beginning, for the few first hours of the Prologe, then take it away from us after a trap or something. 4° Let us actually become a FULL ON KNIGHT in this game. With all the honors and challenges that that brought to people back then. Give us some quests to be able to actually HIRE squires to work for us, npcs that we can train and take to the field to batle, or to help with support or other skills. Something like that. 5° Let us actually have a fief to manage in this game. Or maybe businneses that we can manage. Maybe a Blacksmith workshop, or a potions shop. Gives us the option to become TRADERS or something.
I've seen some people say that it is not old Henry, but maybe Jan Žižka before he lost an eye. You can see him again at 9:58 in your with the moustache.
6:00 : Well - my hope is that they put a lot of work in system optimization. Considering that they are now a much bigger studio, it is to hope that they can make the code work much better, allowing that even the city can run smoothly. But if they can actually archive it - let's hope.
I just love the combat system look. You have shield bash and some other grappling moves along with knee strikes and such. Looks amazing and definitely feels like you are in the combat even more than the first game.
favorite bit is when henry does the flip with the axe before twatting the guard in the leg with it. I'm assuming that is just for the trailer and we cant actually pull off those moves in combat.
KCD is such a cool game with so many cool story moments and mechanics. A sequel could simply be the same models and combat with just a new story and I'd be happy.

I've also tweeted this to you on X/twitter but I'm fairly sure they guy at 3:04 being projected onto the cathedral ceiling is also the guy between Henry and Hans at 13:41. I could be wrong but they do look very similar.

There's very few games I get hyped about, fallout, elder scrolls, gta, red dead. But after kcd I fell in love with it, and knowing kcd2 is coming out I'm honestly so excited, it's going to be an amazing experience.

It seems like they're adopting an 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' approach. Same title, same main characters, no major changes to the setting. Just more and better of what people loved about the first game, made for more modern hardware and with a bunch of little things that people wanted added in. Seems like the best possible kind of fanservice. Really looking forward to it.
The branding scene looks like it might be a really clever way of integrating history with game mechanics. In medieval times people were often branded for first offences or more minor crimes. You could be branded with different letters or symbols representing different crimes. It meant that if you ran off to another town people would still know you were a criminal, and if you got caught committing crimes again, they'd know you were a repeat offender, and would be punished even more harshly. It seems like committing crimes in the game will get Henry branded and change how NPC's react to him, even when he goes to a new settlement.
The map is 2x bigger. And we have new castles to explore so def new characters to meet but we’ll notice some old characters . Story is way longer as well.

I'm absolutely over the moon Roxy! I admit, The last year or so with no news of a sequel has been really hard to digest, at least for me because of how emotionally invested I found myself in this amazing story and characters. They left us on a cliffhanger for awhile but then I watched the reveal with you and I have to say, I am beyond excited for this. I watch the amazing effort put into the reveal like shooting in Kuttenberg with Yan Volta composing an orchestra and choir with projections and such and getting Luke and Tom, and I get that same feeling. This is going to be just as special and I can't wait!

Gotta say, as an amateur armorsmith/weaponsmith, I can't wait to try my hand in game at doing that. I only wish one could truly an accurate feeling of getting metal to "sing". Of course, most people wouldn't care much for that and it's unreasonable to expect such a thing, but I still wish it could be a thing.
I wasn't surprised that there is a sequel. I felt it was a given that even if Warhorse's next game wasn't KCD2, then they'd surely come back to it eventually.
BUT I was VERY SURPRISED that not only does it come out THIS YEAR but the scope of the project is incredible! I remember seeing the original Kickstarter back when I was a junior in highschool (grade 11) and wishing I had a part-time job so I could contribute. Seeing how the game developed over the years and how the studio has flourished has been amazing.
It feels so weird that the time period has guns and knights with swords at the same time its kinda cool.
Warhorse's Witcher 3 pretty much sums up my first impressions of KCD2. In fact I've all ready been using that analogy.

German gaming magazine gamestar got some exclusive infos : There will be more bigger battles in Kcd2, there will be a big tunnel system beyond one city and each of the two maps will have about the size of Kcd1.

KCD 1 is my favourite game to date
I am really stoked for the combat system, the bits we saw looked so good. But the thing I liked the most from the trailer was the prayer at the end, it was just brilliant.
My theory is that the title Kingdom Come: Deliverance is specifically Henry's story, and that after his story concludes in this game, the next Kingdom Come will have a different epitaph and different main character.
Maybe, but if done well henry's saga could stretch to a 3rd game which would be insanely cool. I suspect that since we didn't get anything about rattay or radzig which were very prevelent in the 1st game. Nice analysis tho!
@@Business_disciplinethey originally planned a trilogy, but combined 1 and 2 into the first game, so the second game will be the conclusion, this was also confirmed in a recent interview (after the trailer) where they said kcd2 will conclude Henry’s story.
Absolutely love the house banners/colors on neck chainmail, absolutely lovely. Actually very curious what they will do with *Pribyslavitz* Going to assume its going back under *Talmberg* supervision but it was a interesting idea, now that Henry is "noble" being the son of a noble lord im rather curious if they give you something like *Pribyslavitz* but differently, responsibility over land or a keep or something like that. Im extremely curious if there will be a awkward scene in *Talmberg* or with the Lady *Stephanie* and sir *Divish* finding out she is with child thats for certain *Henry’s*
I know in games like this fighting and combat is extremely good and favored and rightfully so, but i always loved spending hours in nature and roaming the land. Hope hunting and "herbing" is going to be improved aswell.

I’m excited to see how Henry and Hans Capon friendship grow over this game. In the end of the last game it seemed like they both grew to admire and respect each other in a way. It’d be cool to see them fighting side by side this game
they are around same age so its natural they become friends.
fun fact, both henry and hans are around 15-16 years old during the events of the game

Above everything. I hope we get a COMPETENT Henry this time. Not necessarily a full master, but competent in all major skills.
Not having to spend the first 20 hours learning to swordplay again ITS A MUST for this new game.
Here are a few ideas of how they could easily do that:
1° Let us actually chose an archtype this time. From Henry the Rogue; Henry the Valiant Knight; Or Henry the Archer. Something like this with bonus to each skill associated.
2° Let us choose weapon specializations from the start. Swords, maces, axes, etc. To ease us 8nto combat again this time.
3° Give us GOOD gear from the beginning, for the few first hours of the Prologe, then take it away from us after a trap or something.
4° Let us actually become a FULL ON KNIGHT in this game. With all the honors and challenges that that brought to people back then. Give us some quests to be able to actually HIRE squires to work for us, npcs that we can train and take to the field to batle, or to help with support or other skills. Something like that.
5° Let us actually have a fief to manage in this game. Or maybe businneses that we can manage. Maybe a Blacksmith workshop, or a potions shop. Gives us the option to become TRADERS or something.
Warhorse has alot more experience on CryEngine so im hoping KCD2 won’t run like British Leyland

6:00 : Well - my hope is that they put a lot of work in system optimization. Considering that they are now a much bigger studio, it is to hope that they can make the code work much better, allowing that even the city can run smoothly. But if they can actually archive it - let's hope.

I just love the combat system look. You have shield bash and some other grappling moves along with knee strikes and such. Looks amazing and definitely feels like you are in the combat even more than the first game.
favorite bit is when henry does the flip with the axe before twatting the guard in the leg with it. I'm assuming that is just for the trailer and we cant actually pull off those moves in combat.
Finally it's here I've waited years for this 🎉
KCD is such a cool game with so many cool story moments and mechanics. A sequel could simply be the same models and combat with just a new story and I'd be happy.
