God Damn, this remix is so breathtaking. The solos at the end were beautiful ;-; You should do more remixes of themes from the X series that aren't the conventional rock themes like Chill Penguin, Morph Moth, Overdrive Ostrich, Bubble Crab, Wheel Gator, Crystal Snail, and Blizzard Buffalo. I bet it would sound amazing, like this remix.
@@Metalltool where is the album? or spotify link to the album? I am ready to patreon and support in any way possible to make this happen. You are one of the gems of the VGM cover channels on RUclips. Keep rocking and making the best arrangements bro love your work!
Damn I get more enjoyment out of this than any of Megadeth's albums for the past 20 years, or any of the other "big name" bands out there. This is killer. Invest in some original compositions.
This is the best remix Wire Sponge that exist! and the only one I´ve heard that repeats the melody from 0:31 twice, I´ve always wanted that the original song does that! Just awesome!
Cutting this thing up with the sonic slicer was always so satisfying, also very underrated theme, hope you make a Magna Centipede remix, that’s my favorite X2 Maverick and theme
I love the fact that you kept the brass, which I've never (NEVER EVER) heard anyone else do. I also like how you used a distorted guitar where there was originally a bass guitar. It adds a lot more than just using the bass guitar like the original did.
Well, X2 is full of brass so I had no choice. It adds a lot of dimension to the track. Concerning the guitar: at first a wasn't sure if I should put it in, but I kept it, albeit leveling it way down in the mix. I listened to some older 80's opening and hard rock songs (anime openings), which use rhythm guitar, but rather quiet in the mix. It just sits better in the mix and gives the rhythm a bit more edge. Thanks btw
Uhh, actually, its more of a fingered bass that the original Wire Sponge theme used if you ask me, though tbh I am not that knowledgeable on bass instruments, so I may be wrong on that one. XD
I just recently got back into the X games, and let me tell ya, X2 probably had the best music overall. This remix definitely does Wire Sponge's theme justice!
X2 and X3 (SNES) sound tracks are horrible. Wth is wrong with your ears. There is no way you actually thought X2's music came close to X1 or the PS1 games or even X8's (I've barely listened to X7's ost and I refuse to play it so got no opinion on that one)
@@dreamcastdazia4753Damn, it's an opinion. A seven-year old one at that. Also, I highly recommend X7's soundtrack. Despite the game being absolute garbage, the soundtrack is VERY good. Although, that's just kind of a Megaman X standard.
Despite the odd appearance and bland attack pattern, this stage was actually pretty creative with the weather changing mechanic, even if it was used very basically. The song, however? Amazing. Definitely worthy of a remix like this. Keep up the fantastic work!
I have to say that this is by far the BEST version of Wire Sponge I have ever heard. GREAT DAMN JOB! I really like that stage and its about time someone did this song right. Now I have this to ask you. Can you please make one of Cloud Man from Mega Man 7?
The drums are a good bit more challenging on X2, in my opinion. Needless to say, this is a masterpiece. You should do contract work for the game developers.
I'm so happy I found this remix of pretty much one of my favorite song in Megaman X2 (which is my favorite Megaman game of the X series.) This theme is sadly underrated but it's an amazing track overall and your remix just made this theme so epic!
Wired sponge has to be the most bizarre, haphazard and mismatched of all the maverick masters in the entire X franchise. Hes a sponge and a plant, In a weather research facility, who can control the weather and can generate lightning bolts and parasitic vines, wields a chain blade whip like an elite warrior....and despite ALL of these incredible powers and abilities, the weapon you get from him is a worthless grappling wire thats serves as a mere mcguffin. It's criminal that instead you didn't receive an 8 directional strike chain with a higher attack damage at the least, or maybe an electrical attack, or even a vine shield. Instead we got the joke weapon, from the most versital boss in the game.
Beautiful job man on this one that I always love, a special atmosphere that goes perfectly with the Sponge stage.Rockman X2 soundtrack have a lot of great songs.(Opening Stage//Morph Moth//Overdrive Ostrich//Magna Centipede...and all the others!)Rock bottom!
Another killer cover man! I love the dedication to detail you put into all these. Pure nostalgia. You and Dominic Ninmark are without a doubt the best MMX artists on RUclips. Hope to hear a lot more in the future!
Dude this is sooooo good. You're an amazing guitar player. Your vibrato reminds me a lot of Marty Friedman, especially with how expressive he was during metal guitar solos.
i dont want to sound like an oldman...but.. what the hell happened with the music in videogames? sure...theres some good things today... but back then. even a theme from a "wire sponge" was awesome :D genesis and snes have one of the best library of videogame music.

Oh, if only I knew how to put the MSU1 chip in SNES games, because this (along with Metalltool`s other remixes) NEEDS to be put in the actual games! But seriously bro, pretty damn awesome remix as always! you are probably one of the very few people which actually gets my like (because even if I do enjoy some stuff, I almost never actually throw a like), so yeah man! That`s probably all for now. REALLY sorry for the long list, btw. XD
Well my list is similar to yours, albeit a thousand times longer. I have to say that concerning mega man osts, I only intend to work on classic series and X1-3 maybe X4, but anything later to me doesn't make any sense as it already is recorded with real instruments. I really like doing themes that get overlooked, instead of being the 193th cover of a theme, even if I love Street Fighter II and all the other classic themes.
Metalltool Heh, yeah, I guess that would be a bit redundant, wouldnt it? And tbh, same here. I dont really like doing themes that have already been done to death either (main reason why I dont do Undertale remixes or MM2 Wily 1/SF2 Guile`s Theme, since there are already so many covers of them that its crazy to cover them anymore), and just try to focus on doing more underrated stuff, be it from Megaman or a completely different game`s OST. XD
Welp, two years have passed, and yet I'm still coming back to these covers haha ngl, these covers are damn addicting to listen to at times, and now that I'm a lot better knowledgeable in music myself I can definitely tell why I like your stuff now, and I think part of it may be due to the synths and drums you use; they're both nice and punchy, respectively of course ;) Also, pardon my ignorance back then, but at that time I wasn't nearly as knowledgeable on VGM or music in general, so I couldn't suggest many stuff that could be good enough picks that wasn't already done to death; you could really tell that by my comments that I wanted covers that wouldn't even make sense to make in a metal cover like this since yeah, it's indeed really pointless to make covers of this type that already are either "live" or streamed in general that already have the same style to them; it can still be done tho, but I can understand why you held back on it, at least now :V (also my god man, did I seriously suggest Guile's theme for a cover like this??? I should've suggested something like Adon instead, wtf was I thinking LOL) EDIT: Okay, nah, I didn't suggest that, my bad; it has been a while after all (and honestly, I was just about to remove the comment chain anyway since I really don't like looking into my older comments everytime I go to a video or get a comment out of nowhere on one of these, they make me feel embarrassed, for lack of a better term :P)
If Capcom doesn't hit this guy up for the Megaman X2 HD Remaster, it's their loss.
The synth sounds so Mega Man X4-ish! ^^ I love it!
I would have thought this would be THE most difficult X2 theme to pull off for metal…….but you NAILED it, sir!
This is the best rendition of this theme I have ever heard. This is incredible.
A theme that changes in tone periodically in a jarring sense. Just like the weather.
