    Best part of the perrin storyline is that he is reacting to failes emotions that he is smelling, not to her actions as a person. Its situation that is very unfair to faile. Its like being convicted of thought crimes instead of your behavior

      Ohh yes I totally agree this is a very interesting aspect to that storyline! It’s like she can’t hide anything from him

    This was my favorite WOT book so far (through A Crown of Swords) because I felt like it had really interesting revelations with Nynaeve and Egwene. Also Rand is my favorite character and his descent book to book has been so so good. It’s also capped off with Dumai’s Wells which was truly epic and the amount of power on display was insane.

      I totally agree, I really enjoyed the time we got to spend with Nynaeve and Egwene 😊 every book I like following Rand more, he keeps getting more interesting!

    I think you are the only person ever to say they expected Lord of Chaos to end with "more of a bang."

    • @GraceDionneReads
      @GraceDionneReads  3 года назад

      Honestly I think it was the fact that, even though the ending was super explosive, the book ended so abruptly that it didn’t really give that battle time to sink in and have the full impact on me! Which is why I enjoyed the beginning of aCoS for doing that 😊

    I really enjoyed your thoughts on Salidar Aes Sedia and the three Mega Girls as I like to call them. I also really liked your view on Egwene being the Amyrlin. Usually when people read that part they are against it but I liked your view on it and how it makes sense for it.
    As always I really enjoyed this video as always and hope you'll continue enjoying this series. I suggest reading books 7 through 10 very slowly, very much like this one. You'll thank me later!
    Also I wish you talked more about the Forsaken in this video.

      Haha the three mega girls is a fantastic name! I was extremely surprised with Egwene becoming Amyrlin, but she really has developed a lot even though she's still young, so I'm excited to see what she does with the position 😊 I'm not gonna lie, I find the Forsaken very interesting, but I don't always feel like I have a handle on their maneuverings so my thoughts are jumbled. But hopefully in my next review I will!!

      Hi, The reason Egwene becomes the AS is because Susan and Lianne manipulated the Ae Sedai yo name her. It is her plan...

    glad you enjoyed it :) A bit slower building then the last 3 books, but Dumai's Wells is for me one of the best climaxes in fantasy. Jordan shows us what these magic users are capable of, and its far from pretty. Rand is sliding down the crazy pole at full speed, good hearing your thoughts on that, be careful with google as it has been debated for years until it was revealed to us what is actually happening. How do you think Rand will react to Elida's little trick to grab him? He is more then capable of removing the White Tower, surely this, and his attempted mind rape by Allana would be reason enough to send at least some warning shots that way.

    • @GraceDionneReads
      @GraceDionneReads  3 года назад +1

      It was definitely an explosive climax! I think I was thrown off by how quickly the book ended after that, but clearly there is a lot of fallout to be dealt with at the beginning of A Crown of Swords. My personal philosophy is to stay miles away from google because I don’t want to be spoiled for later events in such a silly preventable way 😂 Rand’s relationship with Aes Sedai is super interesting because while I agree, I’m sure he has the power to take a large swath of them out, I think he is pretty wary of what could happen. I think he would prefer if they just left him alone, even though that will never happen lol

    • @smaug1234
      @smaug1234 3 года назад +1

      @@GraceDionneReads Smart move with google. Yes Rand has the power to remove far more then the White tower, but he is still sane enough to understand the consequence's of that action. The only way he will ever be left alone at this point is to die, or maybe find some escape by running for a short time.

      I’m glad to be of service!! Lord of Chaos truly had so much happening, making these videos helps me remember as well! & I’m glad it wasn’t just me who felt that way, like yes there were big events happening at the end, but it also felt very abrupt

    Love your first time reader perspective. I’m curious what your take is on Lews Therin’s voice. Do you believe it’s a real person’s voice or psychosis? I went back and forth on this continuously when I first read the series.
    Also, I was heartbroken in the section when Rand was a prisoner in the box. That he had to endure the helplessness watching them hurt Min certainly didn’t help his mental health. I remember being elated and pumped when he breaks the shield. But like you my joy was tempered by the horror of saidin being wielded so brutally, and I had mixed feelings about Taim making the Aes Sedai “kneel or be knelt.” Even if the Aes Sedai deserved it, like you I didn’t trust Taim.
    Thanks, and hope you enjoy the rest of the series!

      I go back and forth on it as well! I'm leaning towards the fact that it's a real voice because I think that would be insanely cool (no pun intended)
      I agree, Rand endured quite a bit in this book! Min deserves to be protected at all costs. Definitely, the battle at the end was wild, but brutal is a great word for it. I still think Taim is going to be a problem in the future, just not sure exactly how!
      I'm really glad you enjoyed the video 😊

    Women can restore men to full strength in the power and men can restore women to full strength. That's why Siuan and Leane are not as strong after being healed. Good review.

    • @GraceDionneReads
      @GraceDionneReads  3 года назад

      I appreciate your comment and so glad you enjoyed the video! If I’m not mistaken, based on the information we’re given in Lord of Chaos, we wouldn’t know about that yet? I don’t believe we have seen a man heal a woman. Regardless that’s very interesting! Especially since it means that Nynaeve has healed Logain back to full strength

    • @Gunleaver
      @Gunleaver 2 года назад

      @@GraceDionneReads The male thing was inferred from how Nynaeve's Healing worked. You might recall, Siuan & Leane noted that Logain came close to breaking out of the shield, so he is at his full strength, which was almost as high as a man can get, according to non-novel material from the author's notes. Logain is stronger than most of the Forsaken, but Siuan was at the highest level of any known living woman before Elayne's ability was discovered. So it's pretty clear that a woman using the exact same weave, Healed a man to full strength and a pair of woman to only a fraction of her own. Given everything in the story about men & women needing to work together to achieve the most with the Power, and the way male channeling is often inverse of female channeling, men having that effect on Healing women was a pretty educated guess from reading Lord of Chaos.
