VoicePlay + Halloween = EPIC FUN! I always seem to forget that Eli has such a huge range. It's fantastic to hear him start off with baritone growl and later hit high operatic. The Layne humor always gets me. Fun fact: Layne dragged tree limbs into the studio and Tony told him he'd have to repaint anything he scratched, and Elizabeth lost a nail while filming so they stuck a leaf on as a replacement.
My husband just commented last night that he wondered what Voiceplay will do for Halloween this year. I can't wait! Voiceplay are the undisputed KINGS of Halloween!
How many facial expressions can Jen make in 30 seconds? GO!

This was so fun to watch and then spotting the Lock, Shock, and Barrel masks from Kidnap the Sandy Claws placed in the trees. Then there are all the body functions sounds that made me laugh. Loved that Elizabeth flicked the severed finger out of Eli's hand like you're not putting that in the pot. Then the hidden spoon in her bodice. Layne at the end with his deadly carrot.
This is so brilliant....Layne stole the show! He was so extra in this. The whole thing was absolute joyful insanity. I can't stop watching this video!

Did you notice that the Geoff led swung beat section sounded a little bit like the inspector gadget theme? Not surprising because it was based on this piece of music.

Elizabeths' voice has been in VP's Frozen 2 and Greatest Showman videos as well appearing "Just Sing" video.
Rachel Potter was in the Greatest Showman Medley.
@@ChrisHaar Elizabeths voice was the background during the part where the 5 did a beatbox sound. Listen to just that part, you'll hear high distance voice. That's Elizabeth. And she also did the same in the Frozen 2 video.

This is the most giggle worthy video VoicePlay has done and they've done some fun videos (the Nightmare Before Christmas videos, You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch, and a few others). Eli throwing Mini Eli into the cauldron is priceless, as is Layne's hiccup and burp. I'm forced to wonder how they're going to top this one.
The trees in the background are real trees. In the Behind The Scenes video, we can see Layne dragging them into the studio.
And Elizabeth from the Charismatic Voice has coined what Layne is doing "burp-boxing" ^^
Oh, and what Layne did at 24:40 was the same run he did in Boy Bands in 5 minutes.
Love how everything they toss into the cauldron changes either the voice style, the music, or the tempo. Like Eli's operatic voice. I know Liz can do that, she and Geoff both worked at Disney and she did some of the soaring backgrounds (unseen) in VP's Frozen 2 and showed up in Just Sing. Love your analysis.
The bit where Layne goes "yeah" in the trap section is a technique used mainly by beatboxers called vibrobass
Glad you took back the apology, we love the long reactions. This one had so much for you to cover! I was so looking forward to your analysis of this one. We've heard and seen (Just Sing) Elizabeth before, but this is the first one she's been featured. I sure hope not the last. She has such an amazing voice.

Yes! No apology! Long reaction means extra amazing. Also...Elizabeth is incredible!! I had the joy of hearing her in person recently and she is just as sweet, kind (and gorgeous) in person as her voice is. Truly a gem! VoicePlay does it again!!
@24:40, if you listen very carefully, Geoff hits that low note and then glissandos even lower.
I like how Geoff directly use the whole piano and is still not enough to keep track of the notes he can reach
You're exactly right about Dr. Who! I've watched this multiple times and I didn't catch that before. Go back and re-watch this and pay attention to what they're throwing into the caldron and that will help you understand--like Eli throws in a hot pepper and that's when the smoke comes out of his ears. Love your analysis.

I think this one was easier to react to, but harder to analyse because of the plethora of change ups from each singer. Enjoyed it immensely.

Welcome back Jen, you were sorely missed.......The 'silliness' near the end, with Cesar's 'gas', Geoff wiping his mouth, Eli's sneeze, and Layne's burp, to me anyway, was VERY reminiscent of Spike Jones and the City Slickers, from the 1940's and 50's......check them out on RUclips, and see if you do not agree with me....>^^
Enjoyed that so much! Your reaction could have been twice as long and I still would have listened to every word. I may have seen this a hundred times (no exaggeration) since it came out on Patreon, but there are still things that you caught that I hadn’t noticed. Or vice versa. (Every time someone tastes the brew their voice changes, ie, Eli going from gruff to operatic and Cesar getting Layne to look away while he adds something to make Layne drunk.)
And this isn’t even their Halloween video. They filmed another this week, and Layne was in charge again, so it should be another masterpiece!

Eli's range is incredible but they usually don't showcase it. They just took a song that had just auditory memories for me and brought it to visual life. So much fun and Layne just is so creative it blows my mind. Love your reactions and breakdown so much. You're just as much fun to watch as they are

VoicePlay's arrangements are always genius in my opinion. They really can do anything. think it's mentioned briefly in the credits that Geoff had a slight hand in the arrangement, namely he suggested the swing section he did.
Best way to start the fall season..
I've been dying to have you react to this one! "give me a bar number" cracked me up! I knew they had to be trolls for this piece but they made it so fun and interesting for a piece that can be very repetitive. There is a thing with Layne and carrots so it's fitting the carrot was the ingredient that did the trick. I was hoping you would say something about Elizabeth's consonant placement as she did the last licks of fast part. She was genius. That was truly "voiceplay"

Great reaction! I hope you go back and watch it again. Every time I see it I find more and more things. In the very beginning Eli was going to put a carrot into the pot that's why Elizabeth said no one flicked it away. Later Caesar distracted Lane with that old "Look over there!" bit and then he snuck the spider legs into the pot which made Lane intoxicated. Eli put that giant chili pepper into the pot which caused that cartoon whistle and hand flapping like it was was way too spicy. How Elizabeth can hit those notes with that fast staccato and make it sound perfect just boggles my mind. Lane really outdid himself with this one this was an absolute masterpiece!
It's a lot of fun watching you watch them. I love that you duplicate the voices/sounds/runs yourself. Your enjoyment is contagious.

October is pretty much the month for Voiceplay. I think Halloween is the only holiday they celebrate and they do it better than anyone else. I'll be going through their "spooky" stuff a lot the next few weeks.

I found Cesar quite hilarious in this video. They are all good in being expressive, but Cesar was quite convincing in his character. Musicwise there is nothing to say, you know voiceplay will slay
