I *love* how the Tendi's are teary-eyed at their daughters being accomplices in stealing a ship. Plus, the officiant's smile. This is a culture that has truly embraced their criminal natures.
T'Lyn is definitely one of the better vulcans out there given she threw out her report at the end because Tendi didn't consent, most vulcans wouldn't give a damn about consent when it comes to survey reports
Maybe, but at the same time they are sticklers for rule and ethics if nothing else starfleet is, most of time. I really don’t see why she tossed the report, since she could have just said that she didn’t have subject’s consent. Badass thought it might be.
T'Lyn is going to be a legend, right up there alongside Spock and Tuvok. Tendi will be the one who writes that report on Orion culture... eventually. At some point. When she's become comfortable towards all the stabbing.
@@Historyfrek4ever They are only sticklers for rules and ethics when it suited them. Remember how Archer found a hidden long range Spy-station underneath the one of the Vulcan's sacred temples? Ok, part of that is a Romulan plot but still.
Yup. I think most Vulcans would decide that the most "logical" course of action would be to turn in the report, because it would provide valuable insight, and the only downside would be the feelings of another, something they rarely consider as problematic by itself. The only time Vulcans woud consider another's feelings as relevant would be in the case those feelings resulted in affecting the end result, but would likely not value them as something that should be taken into consideration just for their own sake. Clearly T'Lyn's warming up to Tendi in a very non-Vulcan way, since being a friend and making her happy provede more important to her than her directive to acquire data.
Yeah by now Vulcans realize that when it comes to emotionally charged family moments, if even the human says not to interfere then listen to the subject matter expert.
@3adgamd3r It's conceivably possible she's a genetic outlier or actually does have Bendii syndrome. I'd put a bet on her having non-vulcan ancestry, but tbh I'd prefer them not to go that route.
@@CabbageSandwich same, tbh I’d rather she just be like season 1/2 T’Pol, pure Vulcan but can give the sass when needed I’m also hard shipping her and Mariner, and I hope that when the Jennifer/Mariner relationship is addressed and capped off in Season 5 that we get T’Lynn and Mariner kick something off I know a lot of people want Boimler/Mariner, but to me they’re more like siblings or best friends than relationship material
@3adgamd3r Personally I don't ship Mariner, as nobody on the show has the complimentary character to her's that a relationship needs. Closest is Jack, but I think he has too many flaws.
"I might not be a pirate" woman, you literally disabled a ship with a gold tooth last season. Also, is Mariner made out of oak? You'd think she wouldn't be able to use her arm after the second stabbing.
If I'm not mistaken, the ship they're flying is the same class as the "SS Raven", the one Seven of Nine's parents used to track down the Borg. The interior is a match.
You’re most definitely not. This is part of a civilian accessible ship model that is available to Federation citizens with independent registries separate from Starfleet.
Many of us did. That trailer did not paint a good picture and the first two episodes were not a good first impression. However, through good humor, an understanding of Star Trek lore, and excellent character development this show became the best thing to come out of Star Trek in recent years.
@@anthonyrodriguez8788 No. The weight distribution is terrible, it's far more likely to break, and whoever has the 'sharp bit of metal' is far more likely to hurt themselves on account of it not having anything resembling a grip (or really anywhere to put there hand that isn't 'sharp metal') or a hand guard. You can do it but you'll be at a huge disadvantage against someone with a properly made weapon (and presumably a similar level of training, etc).
Also throw in she was actively not trying to harm her sister, while her sister was trying to harm her (even if she was a little torn on the issue). Fighting purely defensively is a major handicap.
Well this explains how she was able to take out Romulans earlier in the show. I had figured being Orion had explained some of it or it was a subtle stab at the whole TNG era trying to forget Vulcans and Romulans are immensely strong, but this is cool.
Who else think T’Lynn will replace Jennifer as Mariners girlfriend? I think they suit each other well and I think it’ll come to a head in season 5 where they plan to fully resolve the Mariner/Jennifer relationship
I don't think so. T'Lyn is more reserved and she probably won't become Mariner's love interest. Besides, Vulcans only mate once every seven years so it's highly unlikely T'Lyn will hook up with anyone. As for Mariner and Jennifer, I never liked their relationship to begin with. From my point of view, Jennifer only cared about herself. When Mariner was wrongfully blamed for speaking ill of the ship, Jennifer turned her back on Mariner. I don't know about you, but that's not a healthy relationship at all.
The best thing about Lower Decks has been the fact they have fleshed out so many older races. Being educational & funny at the same time
I hope they show Ruthafur and Tendi full sex scene! #MeridianCU🌎💘💰

The moment where Mariner says "don't" encapsulates the relationship between Humans and Vulcans pretty solidly.

Mariner might have the best one-off lines on Lower Decks. "Ohhh, stop stop stop! Weeee're in!" is fantastically delivered.
