Hey everybody! I'm actually from Gaffney, South Carolina (where the set of The Abyss is) and can answer questions about the site. Right now I am contacting many people on trying to gain access to the place. The actual site as show has been torn down but the giant warehouse used for filming the inside parts of the movie is still standing. I am hoping there is some stuff still in there to give to our local museum. But yeah, if you have any questions on the intricacies please ask away!
Ohhh! So THAT'S why! The original ending for The Lost World Jurassic Park got turned into the board game, where you have to run through the Workers' Village to a Helicopter while being chased by velociraptors
I used to work at USH in production. I visited the Jurassic Park set many times. The second to last time I visited it I walked around and admired the work that was put into the set as my contract was close to ending. I went back that same week and the whole building had collapsed in itself. In 2019 they tore it all down and cleaned up the entire section. Now it's a picnic area for employees to go and enjoy their lunches. It's a small lake and the push button waterfall runs in the background.
Do you know if anything was inside the building when it collapsed and was taken down? And if you do know, do you know what they did with the things inside? I love the Jurassic Park franchise and it’s sad to hear of it being torn down.

Many of the sets are still there, maintained by the fort, as well as the room at The Tides Inn that featured prominently in the film. The Inn still has the room, now designated as the Officer and a Gentleman suite. Totally surprising to me, though, is that they filmed the decompression chamber scene in the basement of one of the barracks! And the set was just left standing and is still there. I'm surprised you didn't mention the abandoned set location of the house from the British TV show, "Tales From Fat Tulip's Garden". It was sadly abandoned after a fire burnt it down.
You could say Gone With The Wind sugarcoated the hell out of slavery, but you can't say it glorified it. I remember the slaves being freed in the movie, & the servants parting with the family on good terms, while one or two stayed behind because they felt like family. I did like the Hobbit movies, but I absolutely agree that it should have been much shorter & not had the shoehorned-in romance filler.
Cecil B. DeMille left the set of his movie The Ten Commandments along the beaches of the Central Coast of California west of Santa Maria and to this day while driving on the beach one can see Egyptian statues over half covered by sand. A eerie reminder of past ancient Egypt.
I enjoy your videos. I would love to see one on the abandoned features of Fort Wilderness at Disney World. There's abandoned train tracks running through the camp ground, River Country, Discovery Island, the beach where you used to be able to swim. You should check the IMDB trivia page on the movie.
