I painted a Siouxsie logo directly onto the back of my battlejacket using fabric paint, you need to do a few layers but it came out pretty great, also used the stencilling tecnique with just plain printer paper, but I couldnt print so I traced it on the pc screen lol labour of love
Hi. I enjoyed the video. If you add medium to your acrylic paints, they won't crack.(I paint on fabrics.) Also, taking an iron to your patches when finished, will keep them permanent. I like the background music! 🎶
Cool , I used pretty much the same techniques , but started using clear thin plastic card sheet for the stencils , you can blu tack sheets of this onto a p.c or laptop screen and trace direct once you have the image at the correct size you want, I use a fine permanent sharpie , nice to see someone sharing how to do this , I wish you a great goth new year! best wishes 🦇🦇🖤🖤
seems obvious but I also want to mention you can just directly put it onto the clothing without the patches. Save a step. And that spray paint can also just be a quicker way to get the paint spread. Awesome video all around.
I have no idea how durable it will be, but i used latex house paint and a stiff, dry brush. I also had tailor’s pencils, so i drew the design on first, then painted free hand
such a lovely tutorial!! as for a tip of my own to those reading: you can also cover your printed or traced logo with masking tape on both sides of the paper before cutting. this makes the paper sturdy and reusable too. :) it's the same outcome as the watercolour paper, just another way!
Great patches and I do love Paralysed Age! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I usually use a color for fabrics, that you need to iron when the color is dried... Have free hand drawing some too with ok result. Your method seemed easy. Mybe give it a go another time. Happy Gothic New Year Madi! ⭐️✨️🎉🦇🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤🦇🎉✨️⭐️
Omg Tysm for this Video I’m new to being Goth & new to the DiY scene so this video is definitely going to help me when I get around to making my own Patches!! So again Thank you for this video!!! 🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤
ive been making patches using fabric pens for a while, only problem with my method is the ink temporarily fades if it gets wet so ill probably go over them again whenever i get some screenprinting ink. the stencils thing does seem like itd be easier than what ive been doing which is just getting the band logo, taping the fabric to my phone and tracing over it with the fabric pen.
Love this! Every goth or punk i see does it different but i think i overcomplicate it cause made a huge one for a jacket i modified but the first try stencil broke apart 😭
I've always wanted to customize with band logos because it makes me suuuper happy to reuse old clothes and cut them up how I like them. Can you get an exactoknife at a hardwarestore?
Oh huh, another super nice "Do It Yourself" styled project video. The final result was really cool. I also noticed a CRT TV set in your master bedroom. I was wondering: Is that for retro video gaming or is it for obsolete viewing formats such as VHS, Beta & standard definition DVDs? Was just curious. 🦇🖤🎃
I'm going to have to try this but just not with black metal logos unless I want to go cross eyed. I wonder if using magnets and a metal surface would help keep the stencil down better?
@@foxywoxy1915 Make sure you only push the needle through the front of the pocket and not through the pocket so it is not sewn shut. Some people insert cardboard into the pocket so that it is easier to keep the needle from going through the back of the pocket.
@@anthonynguyen4088 I've tried that, but I can't get the needle into the right spot when it needs to go the other way, through the inside of the pocket out the front

Quick old school trick: milk crate, towel, lamp and a sheet of fairly thick glass... Light table for tracing.
I love making patches for pants or jackets
Anarcho stencilism has a rock against racism design and it made my whole year 🖤✊️🤘

I have a stencil that came with a vinyl, this would be such a cool idea to do with it
I just recently found out that they make 8x11 sheets of printable fabric. So if you have an ink jet printer, making patches is even easier.
This is so cool Madi. I never knew how to do this. 😊

Yes, usually. I'd recommend a craft store or office supply, they usually have better options and quality.
I made some patches of Alíen Sex Fiend and 45 grave, last weekend. I loved yours 🖤
Thanks Madi! How are your sweet sweet cars doing?
Good tutorial! I've been considering doing similar to make a Huntress patch, as they simpley do not exist in the wild

Alternative, find a laser cutter to make stencils on. Maker spaces have them.

How did you sew a patch onto the front pocket?
@@TheDjpwn3 the pockets over the chest I never use so I often just sew through them, the only pockets I salvage are the bottom pockets
@@MadiDangerSalvage? How does that work?
@@foxywoxy1915 typically when many people sew patches they don’t bother keeping the pockets as being function and I like to still use a few of mine
