Remember that this way of thinking & acting is against the norm of what the prevailing ideology is. Esp due to all the uses of known toxins used on the food & deliberate design of foods now. Tobacco cos bought food companies, doing the same manipulations to it they did to cigarettes to make them highly addicting no matter how bad they were to health.

I said “no” to the pill, ablation and IUD! Gosh I feel like you both are talking to me. I feel fat and frumpy . So many others don’t get it. I just sat and cried on my husband shoulders on Saturday. I am finally seeing a functional hormonal specialist and taking supplements but man it’s HARD!

I hope you are feeling better. The pill is awful for perimenopause. I had zero issues with it at 20 but at 50 it made me more insulin resistant and I gained weight. Was hungry all the time. The patch has been a lifesaver.

Yes!! I’m 55 and at 43 it hit me and I thought I was doing all of the right things exercising cleaning, etc. rushing around with the kids may have stressed me out too but I was so frustrated because no one was able to help me until I found a functional doctor. progesterone cream and strength training has been a game changer for the past eight years and now that I have found you all it’s gotten even better, so thank you thank you for all that you do. Love you both.❤

Cynthia & Dr Pelz thanks for the great job you are doing to help women. I myself went back to school as an RN, to get my masters in Midwifery & Womens' Health Nurse Practitioner & still couldn't understand what was happening in my body & brain, after I was thrown into surgically induced menopause after hysterectomy for fibroids. The study with the sweeteners did not use regular stevia or even a stevia with an erythritol blend. It had glucose added to the stevia so that "study" was flawed from the get go. Dr. Ben Bikman has done extensive research and studies on non-nutritave sweeteners and has a lot of good information in his book Why We Get Sick. That being said, if we use sweeteners in my house we tend to primarily use Allulose, and then a monk fruit erythritol blend second or liquid drops. We do not use them often though.

Love this podcast and all your invaluable information Cynthia and Mindy. I’m ethnically Chinese so we eat all kinds of organ meats. So chicken hearts is easy but I think it would help if more people know how to prep and cook them. As for chicken hearts, Mindy, Chinese people would cut the tops off ie the aorta 🫀 n then “operate” by slicing open n removing what blood is in there n then rubbing salt into the lot n leave, before rinsing out. Fiddly n time consuming but beautiful to eat! Thanks for your very informative podcast!!

Thank you ladies for this wonderful interview. It's so needed and No One talks about it! My mom is just sharing with my what she, my aunts, her friends all did to deal with the new stress starting to be pushed on women as the times modernized but most of them didn't go through any symptoms because they walked everywhere, they where home makers, got together worth the girls and as Mexicans they where so use to using food as medicine. Herbs are a part of their daily day and teas. I feel it's harder and starts earlier for the modern women because we have so many physiological , mental, emotional, and chemical stressors and toxins.

I'm a RN who works at a surgery center and they are finding the semiglutide meds are slowing motility so much that people are aspirating during surgery. They are having patients stop them 1-2 weeks before surgery. I'd be interested to see if it reverts back to normal after stopping these or not...time will tell.

I used manjuro for a short time which gave me appetite control Long enough to read Dr. Mindy's fasting book and learn how to control my appetite through eating mostly protein and intermittent fasting. So for me it was a great tool. I had a great provider that talked to me every week about making sure hit my protein goals and asking about Side effects and managing side effects such as constipation. So for me manjuro can be a a great tool temporarily.

Cynthia, I too had a ruptured appendix last October and then developed a fist-sized abscess with all the complications; in hospital x 2 weeks, pain like I’ve never felt, antibiotic after antibiotic. Im still working on gaining my health back. Mostly carnivore with introducing low starch veggies back. It’s been a battle. Fasting insulin of 21!!!!!! Fasting glucose of 111. My numbers haven’t been this high in years. I’ll be 57 on Sunday and I’m worried!

If you read her book and listen to her podcast she discusses postmenopausal women and fasting all the time. She just addresses perimenopausal women in the hope that she can teach them how to feed and balance hormones before menopause to help ease the transition later in life. But she has a plethora of information for women of all ages.

Don’t do it! Maybe time restricted eating but not the long fasts. I am active healthy 60 yr old who followed the fasting recommended by M.P. - wanted it for autophagy. In just 4 months I lost so much lean muscle mass!!! Noticeable in arms especially. Now following Dr Stacey Sims, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon and others who recommend increase protein, lift heavy, resistance training and do not do these long fasts - especially if menopause. Otherwise you risk sarcopenia.

Just sharing what I do with sugars... I personally try to stick to fruit for sweet tooth times and o eat it with its skin. I also have cactus nopal. When I do this on a daily I swear I don't catch a single cold or flue even though my hubby and I baby girl are blowing burgers and spraying at me without me or them wearing a face mask not even a tickle on my throat. Organic bananas I use the peals when I add a bit of pineapple to a green smoothie because it smooths out the pineapple and taste creamy without any dairy. My parents have a navel tree orange and a more tangy orange. I wash them well, slice them and eat them with their peels. The navel orange peels taste so sweet as well as their tangerines. Sooo yummy. Kiwis i buy organic and the same I scrub the hairs off and eat with skin as well as organic mangos. I been doing this since I just began at 43 and to my surprise more wormed and even my nieces at 20 having sever issues I'm going through. I tell my hubby and one of my guy buddies who just shared his wife at 28 is having ovarian cysts that leave her immobile. I have to say following your advice Dr Mindy and Dr Bergs advice really help me.
I turned 43 this June and it's been crazy ride up till just these past 2 weeks that I think I am finding out what really works for me. My adrenals hurt sooo bad and I have changed my lifestyle to support them and I don't need a lot of supplements. In my expert I need to get back to swing dancing but not intense as I did before being prego. I can't do competition training daily but I can social dance 3 days per week for like 2 hours. I now have to sleep 9 hours to make sure my adrenals , hips and ovaries do not hurt to the point I'm imobilized. Vit D and civic as well as humic acids. I save my honey for sick days and for my nurture days. I can't stress myself like before. I just have to accept my new life and add more yummy pickled and fermented foods. I have had the best 2 weeks.
OMG I HAVE TO Share... I switched my bed with head pointing south and my feet pointing north. Ever since then i have not woken up at 2, 3, or 4 in the morning. Omg this is amazing! Still I have to respect and honor my new body and not abuse it so I don't feel like I have hip and back osteoporosis.

@Dr. Mindy, you mentioned that you wish you could sit every "40yo woman" down and explain to them what's about to happen and I've been pondering this thought for quite some time and your mention of that statement compels me to mention this. Why don't you do a 10 city tour, something wildly titled "Peri & Menopausal women and why we blame everyone else for our antics"....bring some comedy to it yet seize the opportunity to deliver on her message along with selling your books at the end of the event. I can just imagine the reach you'll have doing it like this in addition to your YT platform.
