- Many shots of buses driving in and around Rotherham town centre.
Footage of the (then) new library which is now replaced by Tesco
If you have noticed anything of interest that needs adding to the description then please let me know. This film was shot on 8mm cine film by a Mr Robert Shaw who kindly gave me permission to transfer and upload it
That opening shot of FET805 the Bristol with East Lancs body was taken when I owned the vehicle. I also bought FET822 the centre entrance single decker. Sadly, I was so busy starting and running my own business that I had to sell both buses. I thought I had saved them from scrapping though by selling them to other enthusiasts. However, both buses lasted only a short time and were sold by the new owners for scrap and are now lost forever.
Must be circa 1974 as some early SYPTE liveried vehicles too. Brought me back some great memories, thanks.
You are more than welcome
The library is on this a lot and that was built in 1976.
I spent many happy hours in that library
I spent most of my young life in that library. I can still remember the smell of meths in the record section.
Thank you for the video!!!!!
My pleasure!
You're welcome
Very atmospheric!
Probably because it was shot on film as opposed to video.
I remember too when it wasn’t bursting with Eastern European’s. Betting offices pubs and pound shops now, sad really.
And Wigfalls. Do you remember that shop? I used to work there briefly.
@@eddiesmyth6464 I remember fosters 🤣
When we had a lovely town not the terrible shit hole we have today!
Excellent!!!!!
Many thanks Andrew.
Many thanks
Can’t remember that hifi shop, what was it?
Moorgate Accoustics?
@@eddiesmyth6464 don’t think so that was originally at the beginning of Westgate then moved across the road and I was a regular at both their shops.
@@tonyjedioftheforest1364 You're right, my mistake. I've just watched it again and I can honestly say I haven't got a clue. Now it's bugging me.
